Sorry for this being off topic but I had to post something somewhere when I saw this:

on CNN’s website they have a (bogus) poll question that asks “Should schools be allowed to censor students?” The available answers are yes and no and if you can believe this, in America, home of the Free Speech 66% think it’s OK for schools to cencor students…should the student be an example of the schools success and shouldn’t for good or ill that students public statements be left to his/her discression (not to mention this wasn’t even anything done on school grounds) why should any school be allowed to censor any student no matter what they are saying, shouldn’t the student be able to make his/her own statements and be responsible for their own actions? what is happening to America? man, Reagan screwed everyone up and they have never recovered…c-mon people at least lets give Al Quieda something to hate us for…let us have our freedoms!!!

I do realize that these polls are total crap but it seems like more and more we are looking less like America (this sentence brought to you by an American public school)

I told them if they have Luntz on they have to give equal billing to their correspondent Geoffrey Nunburg, author of “Talking Right” to offer an alternate perspective. I also mentioned that Luntz is only a couple of steps from Karl Rove in influence on conservatives.

With a very few exceptions political coverage on PBS should be called for what it is,Propagandistic Bull Shit. Despite Thomlinson’s leaving PBS he has had a dramatic impact on their political coverage. This can be seen in the rather narrow coverage on Jim Leher’s News Hour. Rarely if ever do you see/hear real progressive voices on his program. If it wasn’t for David Branchio, Bill Moyers and occasionally Frontline, PBS could be a Republican publicity machine.

Been a long time since PBS/NPR has any credibility. The CPB has long since turned to the dark side. PBS/NPR are just GOPer propganda organs at this point, undeserving of any respect. I no longer listen to public radio or watch PBS programing. and I no longer support local stations. If they are going to insult me by indulging in propaganda, if they are going to attempt to violate me with manipulative lies, they in turn deserve nothing but my contempt. If all they are going to do is betray the public’s trust, I’m for shutting them down.

When Vice president Cheney acquires items which require security does he require them in his position as President of the senate ? Action required by and utilized in the performance of his Senate duties probably should be covered. (in a legal sense an area of distinction can and probably FOR FUTURE VPs should be made)

So true. I think we need to get the word out about how compromised PBS has become. They tip-toe around the real issues, and pay lip service to what should be obviously corrupt scandals as though this were just another side of an opinion. I don’t know if I’ve tuned in at the wrong times, but I’ve heard; “The good side of Global Warming.” Concepts on economic issues from the Heritage Foundation (in a Democracy, these shills would be in prison), and various pieces supporting things like Government spying and how Ohio in 2006 was “controversial.” Yeah, a few people in prison which inlucdes people who were in CHARGE of the election, and it’s “controversial.” Used to be you could report on something, and that would LEAD the conviction. Now, you have to find the one non-crony judge who will actually convict a Republican crook. It’s a hard path to get someone to pay for their treason — not for lack of suspects.

Luntz’s rug should have a chinstrap.
