Michael Moore demands apology from Wolf Blitzer

mmoore.jpg Michael Moore went off on Wolfie and CNN for a hit piece they aired about “Sicko” right before he came on. He was hot! He slapped the beard around pretty good…He says he’ll post the facts refuting their claims on his website tonight. He then attacked CNN and Blitzer for not doing their job in the run up to the war (where were you when it mattered?) and said that everything he said about the Iraq war did come to pass. He wondered why it took him so many years to get Cheney on teevee? He asked when America will get sick and tired of the “crap” they show…

Moore: Why don’t you tell the truth to the American people? I mean I wish that CNN and th eother mainstream media would just for once tell the truth….You fudged the facts about this issue—-about the war and I’m just curious. When are you going to aplogize to the American people for not bringing the truth to them that isn’t sponsored by some major corporation?

Wolfie didn’t know what to say for a while and tried to ask him some questions about Sicko, but even the most basic elements of the film he got wrong. Moore did not attack Hillary in the movie. He praised her efforts to try to change health care for the country in Sicko, but was stopped cold in her tracks as you already know. He did point out that she was getting a lot of campaign contributions from the industry…The transcript isn’t posted yet on CNN…so have at it…I’ll update the post as I go…

All the health care numbers you could ever need are here. This summary that includes comparisons of the American health care system relative to other countries and between the states, plus data on the uninsured, rising health care costs, the woes of Medicare and Medicaid and more.

For all the details, see:
“SiCKO Required Reading: U.S. Health Care by the Numbers.”

Jason Says:

What Moore should have said but didn’t have the guts to, is, that:

Your inalienable right to petition the government for redress of
grievances is under attack under the umbrella of the Executive
Branch’s ethics accountability. Introduced bill H.R.984, being an
attempt to amend The Ethics in Government Act of 1978, would require
nearly 8,000 members in the Executive Branch to put into an open
database the names and summaries “of each private party who had a
significant contact with that official.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.....Reform_Act

So far, so good. However, a similar technology used by the Executive
Branch has proven, by a leak, to have been abused for furthering
unpopular agendas and partisan politics: the Executive Branch’s
private web server.

If Congress really wants a transparent and open government, then there
needs to be implementation of transparency in, or the dismantling of,
the Executive Branch’s web server.

All of this comes after a lobbying reform bill at the end of 109th
Congress was killed in an effort to give citizens who amass revenue of
at least $25,000 per fiscal quarter the right to influence opposition
to unpopular special interest agendas. Of course your run of the mill
non-issue advocates like the N.R.A. and the National Right to Life
Committee ran over the bill with their lobby against it.

Let me get this straight. Private citizens not backed by big business
alliances can’t enter national and international debates with any
relevant influence, but our Constitutional Right to be heard by our
government can legally be used to further agendas we oppose?

Contact your State’s Representatives in your Districts and let him or
her know who they really work for. This time, show some initiative,
grow a spine and walk into their offices and demand they craft laws
that don’t little by little take away our Constitutional Rights.

There still is time. H.R.984 hasn’t been voted on or enacted, yet.

I just watched the entire smackdown, cheering all the way through. Go, Michael, go! He put a beating on Wolf that was even better (and worse) than the one from Darth Dick and his hideous wife. He asked Blitzer the questions about CNN’s Iraq war coverage (and cheerleading) that should have been asked years ago. Moore also had some choice words for PhArma’s bestest bud, Sanjay Gupta. Watching him mop the floor of the Situation Room with Wolfie was a treat.

I can’t wait to see part 2 of the beat-down tomorrow. Michael Moore is now my hero.

16
Jo Says:

Leslie Blitzer along with the other blathering heads on tv have got a lot of ’splaining to do to the American public. They are nothing but paid whores doing infomercials for this gang of thugs who have taken over our country. If they all had frontal lobotomies they couldn’t be any dumber. They profit from death. May a curse be upon them all.

NewNameAcquired Says:

I saw it live, loved it!

But yeah, when they talk about Medicare and Medicade… that’s socialized medicine, and Moore admits it was sold to private companies. So what’s to prevent his way of healthcare being sold to private companies also?

IN ADDITION…

Moore mentions Social Security as something going well… uhhhh WHAT? No it isn’t - it’s completely broken!

I was all for this socialized medicine thing, but after this interview, I remembered I live in America where that just can’t happen because we’re are controlled by IDIOTS who would never be able to work it properly.

And if idiots aren’t in power, greedy evil bastards will be in their place.

Socialized medicine will never work, because Americans are too unhealthy, too lazy, too stupid, too greedy.. this goes for the citizens as well as those in government.

Kahoneez Says:

” Sorry for Wolf” are you fricken serious, the infotainer that sold ” Shock and Awe ” and had embeds with the military acting as cheerleaders for the war. the same Blitzer that hasn’t investigated the massacre in Fallujah, where everything the couldn’t leave was SHOT, including men, women and children, dogs and cats. Read goddamn DAHR JAMIALS INVESTIGATION, he was THERE, in Fallujah..CNN wasn’t …BLITZER wasn’t, not any of the other pathetic U.S. “media ‘. That’s just one example.

Blitzer deserved a lot more that that, and I think Moore went soft on him .

CNN, that let in Psyops form Ft. Benning into CNN studios, to work as ” interns” .

CNN, that hires former Langley CIA student Anderson Cooper, who had a ” special” this weekend, ” Surveillance in the UK worked so well, why don’t we have more here ” His exact words , obvious advancing the propaganda , we need MORE surveillance CAMERAS here in the U.S. , New World order clowns must have really loved that special.

Moore did not attack Hillary? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!! Stopped cold in her tracks??? Are you crazy? Nobody “stopped” her. She accepted money to shut up. Just like all the other crooks and liars in Washington.

[deleted–you are on VERY thin ice. You will not insult the site in your posts. Otherwise you will be on a permanent time out. Dial back your rhetoric or take it walking.]

The fact is this:

HILLARY CLINTON ACCEPTED “BRIBE” MONEY FROM THE INDUSTRY in order to stop her drive to make healthcare “publicly funded”.

It drives me batsh&t insane to see you relegate that huge fact to a mere footnote and say that it wasn’t her fault that she accepted bribe money. This is so typical of so-called “liberal psychology” to blame the people who pay the bribe instead of the person who accepts the bribe. Clinton is a public official for crying out loud. She is supposed to answer for the American people. By taking those bribes she effectively nullified her credibility. Is it any wonder the MSM supports her?

Gekke @ 10:

Yeah, make a “proper” movie and get ridiculed and ignored. Its the other way around, Moore knows what he’s doing.

Btw, no disrespect - I get the humor behind the screen caps looking goofy, but Michael doesnt really need any help. He looks like Grimace in that cap. (Mike, I love you, and I thank you for all that you do for us - but please, please do some pushups man.)

22
Erroll Says:

I just saw it also and noticed that Blitzer never addressed Moore’s charges as to why Blitzer and CNN never questioned the administration’s runup to the war. Blitzer also never said why it took CNN three years to finally ask Cheney some straightforward questions about Iraq. Blitzer claimed that Dr. Gupta is an outstanding doctor while never asking how objective Gupta could be while being embedded with the troops. It is no wonder that CNN chooses to have Moore on its show about every three years since Moore chooses not to be embedded with either the government or CNN. Looking forward to Blitzer interviewing Michael Moore again tomorrow.

CafeenMan Says:

Michael Moore is cracking me up. Man he is pissed!

24
Friar Tuck Says:

HOW DARE WOLFIE POOH LIE about the health care in germany!!!
As a american living here i can attest that wolf is FULL of shit!
you go Michael and bust those lying balls from the so called MSM.

25
Roxie Says:

Way to give it to him, Michael! Perhaps if Blitzer, et al, had asked the right questions, we might have 3600 young Americans alive and home with their loved ones.

Greg Says:

What pissed me off about this was Lou Dobbs cowardly attack after the segment. He compared Moore to Chavez. Dobbs should stick to what he does best…..or should I say the only thing he does. Spew his racism against Mexicans.

27

Wooo-hoooooo! God bless you Michael!

The Truth Hurts Says:

Social Security is “broken” because our wonderful elected officials can’t keep their damn hands off the funds. They’ve been dipping into it for years to fund their other priorities.

33
Nathan Says:

Mike was on fire!!! He is one of the last people to speak out with guts. Watch as the Right-Wing machine begins its attack just like it slimed Cindy Sheehan. Gay ‘journalist’ Matthew Drudge is starting out by flashing ‘breaking news’ that Moore is a racist because he mocked Sanje Gupta on CNN. That’s thier new angle: Michael Moore is a racist. The GOP scum make me so sick.

Wolf looks like a sicko. Take them to the cleaners, Michael. You speak for all of us!

35
Johnsim Says:

Smack down on Wolfie!! I love it! Agree with Moore or not, he was dead on here!

36
Ben Says:

Michael Moore is an AMERICAN HERO!!! If anyone deserves a medal for courage, it is Moore and not some degenerate freak like George Tenet.

37
Tony Says:

The GOP fanatics try to focus on stuff like criticism of Hillary in ‘Sicko’ as if that was the main theme of the movie. That is how craven these liars are. Someone like Andrew Sullivan, who personally despises Moore, know they can’t fight the tide of support for the movie. So instead, they try to support tiny minutia and blow it up like “Look, Bill Clinton is to blame for this tragedy because Michael Moore shows that Hitlery is s dyke”. The Republican scum are the most successful propagandist and smear merchants of our time.

38
Friar Tuck Says:

cnn america has become very much like FAUX news.
Hence why i watch the news here. No lies and bullshit, no catering to some dillwad like murdoch, or someone similar, no partisain lean etc.

What the american ppl are being fed for news is nothing more then a farce! for those who want the real news check out this link…..

Raenelle Says:

I love Michael Moore. They keep trying to marginalize him, make him some kind of left-wing Ann Coulter. He’s done more for this country than the whole nest at CNN. He has more patriotism in his nail clippings than they do in all their portfolios. Fuck ‘em. I would take Michael Moore over any of them, over all of them, any time, anywhere.

41
wes Says:

John,

Do you guys have the CNN piece that Michael Moore is talking about? It might provide a bit more context. Obviously I know from this it was a hit piece i’d just like to see it too.

thanks

Wolf is a lying little tweeter.

44
Kita Says:

Notice Wolf pulled out the cliche defense that all wingers use when they don’t want to discuss the facts:

1. But Sanje Gupta was in Iraq risking his life

which is a variation of:

1. The troops are defending your freedoms in Iraq, how dare you question their mission.
2. Our heroes in Iraq are noble and pure, how dare you point out Haditha or Abu Ghraib, you traitor!
3. Anyone who risks their life in a wartime situation is by definition a patriotic hero and can’t be questioned. How dare you!

45
uncle wally Says:

feckin’ hilarious - I like when wolfie says “we run commercials for the movie on cnn” as if that makes everything okay.

Moore did take a clear swipe at Hillary. He did praise her for her initiative in the first place, but then notes that the industry became a big HRC supporter after she gave up on the issue. The quote, I believe, was that she was “rewarded for her silence.” I took the insinuation to be a kind of beat-em/join-em dynamic.
