Kristol: We’re not in a civil war. This is just not true….

I guess being wrong about everything and a Class-A neocon earns “you” a spot “On the bright side” of the Washington Post: “Why Bush Will Be A Winner”

What will Bush say about this LA Times report?Sunni extremists from Saudi Arabia make up half the foreign fighters in Iraq, many suicide bombers, a U.S. official says.” (h/t James)

Oh yea, FRIST!

I just had a brain movie of Bill Kristol and Lindsey Graham together . . . . arrrghhh!

I got in trouble at a family gathering by suggesting that the western world was being controlled by pedophiles. My brother said I was “over the top” and I became “persona non gratis”.

And then there was the most recent “page scandal”

In the future, we will put propogandaist shills like him on trial for treason and warcrimes. He helped to bring about the war and he should be hung for it.

this man should be hung for treason along with the rest of that panel on fox

sorry Neil … I did’nt realise you had already expressed my sentiments ..
yet we could hang them twice just to make sure

equilibrio Says:

I’m going to agree that there’s no civil war in Iraq.

It appears to me a war against an illegal occupation.

Shias and Sunnis fight one another because they think the other side is cooperating with the occupation.

Once the occupation ends, and if the fighting continues, then you can call it a civil war.

13
lafin gas Says:

I don’t care how he is hung but he should be hanged too!

Iraq is similar to the nightmare we had in Vietnam..however, our soldiers are treated with respect and dignity. The denial our government continues to state regarding no civil war in Iraq is a disgrace.

Thank you for allowing me to the vent, the only option we have today…..

Why in the hell does this guy get a platform?

Rufus Says:

We must respect the opinions of Bill Kristol — his knowledge draws upon his extensive military background and his heroism in combat (resulting in numerous valor awards). NOT! Just another chickenhawk being heroic with the lives of others. Disgusting.

Paul Says:

Why is it people try and re-write the language to hide what is happening, the genocide in various parts of the world were called ethnic clensing…Hey there is an idea, don’t call it a civil war, call it genocide. After all one religious group is trying to wipe out another.

21
miss skeptic Says:

I like that - “WE”RE not in a civil war” What’s this “we” shit? The Iraqis are involved in a civil war - we’re just there for target practice.

22
Doug Says:

At least Kristol is consistent about being wrong and Fox Noise will continue to air his lies because of that consistency.

Did anyone watch the expression of the panel?
Heck, even I don’t think that they bought Kristol’s load of b.s.

DaveK Says:

“I think there’s been a certain amount of, frankly, Terry, a kind of pop sociology in America, that, you know, somehow the Shia can’t get along with the Sunni, or the Shia in Iraq just want to establish some kind of fundamentalist regime. There’s almost no evidence of that at all. Iraq has always been very secular.” W. Kristol, April 2003.

26
Nick Says:

I was reading his “Why Bush Is Awesomeness” up until the point he said that the Iraq conflict was heading for success…

27
tbhull Says:

Kristol is a poor excuse for a man. A small cowardly man with an overbearing mother that so readily has others die for his ideas. Things might have been different if someone would have kicked is whimpy small ass when he was young, but he hid under his oppressive mother’s skirt.

Other than spreading this particular repulsive gene chain along with the father, the abomination of Bill Kristol is not his mother’s fault but is the fault of Bill Kristol. The indefeasible cowardice of this hopeless human horror could not even stand up to his mother, a problem that is Bill’s and Bill’s alone. I say this so as not to offend those sensitive types so quick to defend his mother.

28
Capt. Bat Guano Says:

Loo Hoo. Says: Why in the hell does this guy get a platform?

Because his corporate military industrial complex bosses OWN the platform.

29
Jerry Says:

To think these kind of people like Kristol write fiction and people believe it. Kristol is a four star general in the 101st fighting keyboardist along with Jonah Goldberg. May life be unkind to them as hell will be.

I agree with your statement. However, that is only part of what is happening in Iraq from what I gather. First off, the Kurdish PKK has been mixing it up lately with the Iranians and Turks in northern Iraq. Just the other day Iran shelled Kurdish positions in Iraq and Turkey has made some small cross border operations into Iraq along with their shelling.

Then, the Kurds are also mixing it up in and around Kirkuk against the Shia, Sunni and in some cases the Turkmen. Add in, that you also have outside assistance from Saudi Arabia, Iran and no telling who else. Those nations are supporting their breathern. Its almost as if you have a civil/sectarian war to in the south of Iraq, a move for independence/autonomy in the north, and other nations using those religious/ethnic divides to their own advantage. Meanwhile, the U.S. and its “coalition of the willing” is trying to hold all of this together with an Iraqi Government which can not do anything outside of the green zone effectively. Add to all of this, “Al Qaeda” who is expoliting every opportunity to further these various conflicts.

Kristol: no brains, no heart, no balls. Dorothy needs no one else.

32
Angry One Says:

The National Review, the conservatives’ official game day program for the war in Iraq, has finally jumped the shark. Like a long-running sitcom with declining ratings, aging stars and bereft of new ideas, the magazine has been reduced to bizarre stunts in a desperate plea for attention. This week, that desperation took the form of Michael Ledeen slandering the families of American troops going off to war in Iraq and front page promotion of Kristol’s WaPo op-ed. And that was just for openers.

For the details, see:
“The National Review Jumps the Shark.”

“we’re not in civil war in Iraq”

I guess that goes along with such pearls of wisdom like “there seems to be a certain pop sociology that if we topple Sadaam we’ll have sunni on Shiah and Shiah on Sunni violence. There’s absolutely no reason to think that will happen”

Join a right wing think tank and you can be an arrogant no nothing propagandist and the “liberal” media will put you on TV and in the papers all the time.

BTW, Willy, yes you DO open yourself up to ridicule.

For those who think Kucinich is the answer to our prayers, I give you this, from his website:
“The fact is that most Americans, including myself, are uncomfortable with abortions and feel there are too many of them. At the same time, the vast majority of Americans recognize that there are circumstances in which a woman and her doctor should be allowed to make this most difficult decision without government intervention. To return to the days when woman could self-abort without penalty, but to imprison doctors who would help them, seems senseless, especially recognizing that a new abortion law would likely become known as “The Abortions for the Rich-Only Bill.”

I have a plan to reduce abortions by encouraging family planning, including abstinance training, combined with a full economic and health care plan that would clearly alleviate the number of abortions. Voters have a choice: Choose Republican rhetoric that will never allow the issue to come to a vote or a real plan to reduce the number of abortions with a program of economic justice. Factually, all the Republican rhetoric and phony issues surrounding abortion have never directly addressed the legality of abortion and have had no or negilible impact on the number of abortions.”

Has this man EVER been right in the past 6 years?
Does he take his family on vacation and drive to the wrong destination often?
Does he burn dinner each evening at home?
I can only imagine Kristol lives in a home of busted appliances, incorrect house numbers, disorganization, bizarre lectures, and confused family members.

What an idiot.

I made it into the WaPo piece up to here:

So Bush and Vice President Cheney probably are doing some important things right. The war in Afghanistan has gone reasonably well.

“Probably?” “Reasonably well?” These are his standards for slavish dedication to this POS administration? The man is a lunatic.

46
Joe O. Says:

When it comes to military matters just think the opposite of what Kristol says and you will be right everytime. The man has no related experience regarding military matters so its no wonder that he makes more novice mistakes than a private right out of boot camp. In fact, if I had to choose between the Private or Kristol I would pick the Private everytime. At least the Private knows a bit about what he/she is talking about. Personally, I am thinking of nicknaming him “Backwards Bill” myself. Why anyone would take any military advice from a fool like him (or any other neocon for that matter) is beyond me. Then again, look who listens to them. Can anyone think of a bigger fool than George W. Bush? In the end, I guess its a good thing that we do not live back in the dark ages. Because a wise king would have thrown Kristol into a dungeon or had him beheaded for his incompetence.

50
Aris Says:

Why on earth you give space to these guys to spread their venom; they are already given forums on Fox, CNN, NR,… Aren’t they enough? We don’t have to listen to, or watch, them on C&L or other progressive blocks. We know what they will say: lies and lies. We know they are delusional, corrupt to the core, un-American, and last but not least, full of shit. As you pointed out, not a single damned thing they have said or predicted has materialized. It is mind bugling to watch a human being to be wrong on everything for so long. It is as if the part of their brains responsible for reasoning and inferring has been switched off permanently. Very scary.
