Crooks & Liars hosts ActBlue with Firedoglake and DownWithTyranny. In the past, we’ve helped raised over half a million dollars for progressive candidates and helped the Democrats take back the House and the Senate. But today, the 4th Annual Blogosphere Day, isn’t about our site or about our wonderful candidates. It’s about the incredible engine that allows the online progressive community to act in concert: ActBlue.
Mostly through small donations, Act Blue has managed to help raise more than $25,000,000 since starting up in 2004. With some infrastructure upgrades, they hope to push that beyond $100 million by the time of the 2008 election. Today’s Blogosphere Day is to help raise the money to keep that engine humming. Here’s where to do it and, remember, the $25,000,000 collected so far has come because many of us gave $5 and $10 and $20 contributions. Please give what you can today. Watch our pal Tim Tagaris explaining why this is important:
And take a look what Wes Clark has to say about this at today’s Huffington Post. Later today, John Kerry will be over at Firedoglake talking about Blogosphere Day and the importance of supporting an ongoing progressive infrastructure– 2pm, EST.

sweeet
Then you must mean it’s about ME. Thank you so much. It was the 3rd birthday of News Corpse yesterday, but I wasn’t expecting anything like this.
Happy Birthday, News Corpse
Upon re-reading…never mind :-)
just a reminder that from July 8th 2002 to November of 2003 George Bush never once said the name “Osama Bin Laden” (or “Osama” or “Bin Laden”) in public. Not Once. And nobody in the media even mentioned it.

except me.
Yay! Now everybody has a day specifically set aside for them.
Except for those of us who realize that Democrats and Republicans are all playing us for fools, and are really just equal parts of the plutocracy that rules over us.
We have naught.
Mark @ News Corpse @ 2:
Have you flogged a blog today?
Still watching the GOP-biased CMSM:
“After reports emerged in April that Democratic candidate John Edwards spent $400 for a haircut, the media jumped on the story. It was mentioned twice as often as Romney’s makeup work in the days after each story was reported, according to a database search.
Romney himself was quick to join the Edwards-bashing bandwagon, telling Massachusetts reporters that he paid no more than $50 for a trim.
“You know I think John Edwards was right. There are two Americas. There is the America where people pay $400 for a haircut and then there is everybody else,” Romney said.”
The CMSM made sure “Edward’s $400 haircut” became part of the American lexicon…like “Al Gore invented the internet”…they make sure they do it…when they want it…

Not related to this post directly, but what a place the blogosphere. Where else could you–or want to–interact with a poster like this guy here, ‘Entreprenosis.’

The video is great, but some of the pro Romney posters are out to lunch!

Off topic: I haven’t been able to get to Raw Story site since last night… anybody know why?
Plus, Tim’s wearing Cubby blue!
Well Happy Blogosphere Day to C&L and everyone that frequents this site.
These sites–like C&L– are so important to furthering Progressive ideals and values.Personally I don’t know what I’d do without them.Probably go nuts.
Well,nuttierat any rate…
Hey Tim I see you’re still wearing your Cubs colors. If I close my eyes I can still see that ugly Cubs towel over that window in Plumsteadville. Has that disintegrated yet the way the Cubs have? LOL.
Thanks for supporting Act Blue. I recently started a page for Pennsylvania Bloggers to support State Rep candidate Mike Morrill. It’s a great tool for the grassroots.
