You will never get a straight answer from Rumsfeld on anything, ever. He’s not capable of honesty at this point in his wretched life.

I’ve heard of the Rendon Group. They are the White House’s Ministry of Information.

A BIG YES to that, but after the FISA votes this week,it may not be safe to say it.

L Yates Says:

While the intent of the corporate media is clear, to serve as gatekeeper for the “legitimate” candidates, there is always a possible way around them.

In the late 60s, various movements and individuals got around the corporate media gatekeepers. (Yes, they existed then also.) When that happened, mostly by accident, suddenly the public became aware of alternatives that had been kept from them, and almost overnight large new constituencies were created.

This could happen with Kucinich. If the American people suddenly realized that a real anticorporate and antiwar alternative existed, he could knock out the anointed Dems. After all, Hillary Clinton may be strong, but she’s certainly no Lyndon Johnson. And in part this could happen because most US voters don’t even really know Kucinich exists, and certainly not that he is articulate, intelligent, and courageous.

Dennis is the man! What a rotten POS Rummy is. Constant pressure should be put on the White House for them to release Tillman documents and to not let them get away with claiming executive privilege.

LOL Thanks for a big laugh on that. I have to laugh or else I’ll cry.

The media is biased. Watch the nightly news on the big three. Mostly what is reported is fluff pieces. The real news of the day, the lies of the members of this administration, the cover ups and the misuse of Executive privlege are glossed over or not reported

Arms and gun runners are getting rich off this war on terror as well as war profiteers. This is the downsize of outsourcing the military. War becomes a balance sheet for big corporations. Profits and politics interfere with military strategies and objectives.

Otay Says:

These guys (guys like Rumsfeld) just can’t seem to give a straight answer until you practically hold them up to the evidence and force their eyes open to look at it and it has their name all over it.

Rumsfeld knew what was going on in the Army in this regard - he was the Sec Def for Christs sake. Dumb-as-a-brick may work for Gonzo as he is still useful to the admin, but Rumsfeld is out - there will be no protection for him. I’m glad Kucinich did not let him play the disingenuous “I don’t know what they do” card and forced admittal. It was obvious Rumsfeld knew of the program (and it’s doings) when he finally mentioned knowledge of the group outsourced for that purpose.

17
Otay Says:

And oh yeah, why am I not really surprised the media did not cover this?

Ali Says:

The media always ignores Kucinich - probably because he’s not quite the corporate tool. I hate the way the media seems to choose the candidates. A person shouldn’t get to be president based on how much money they can raise or how much attention they can get. It’s pretty sickening. What ever happened to qualifications?

God Rumsfield is such a DICK!

20
anon Says:

Kucinich is the voice of courage, logic and sensibility. he is definitely the alternative to the popular. If the Democrats want a real change…..We can not allow the MEDIA to dictate what options we have as a candidate. They have been wrong all along. Dennis has been RIGHT from the start. From the War in IRAQ to the U.S. Constitution.

Media will only support the candidates that raise the most campaign money to pay for political advertisement. Election Season is their way of acquiring those millions of dollars the politicians and their party raised. It doesn’t matter what the consequences it has on the nation. Exploit the party and politicians with the most money. And when a media is able to market a politician and deliver a “WIN” on election season…….then they can charge what ever they want. They (the media) earned the millions and will also win the AD campaign for the next election season.

Voter should pay attention to the candidates. They should learn who their contributors are. But most important…….find out their voting history and vote on the politician with a platform that is compatible to yours. DON’T BE SWAYED by popularity. YOUR VOTE is WORTH MORE THAN the campaign money from the top 1% earners of our population.

It is time to OUTSMART the CORPORATE misconduct………………….THEY ARE NOT LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR INTEREST. They simply want to continue to have the POWER to control YOU, our GOVERNMENT and our POLITICAL LEADERS. And SOME of them rose to the top not because they were noble but because big corporation paid to help them get to where they are at. FAVORS have to be paid thereafter to enrich them and to increase their corporate bottom line.

WE the PEOPLE need to bring our government back to focus on their constituent. WE HAVE THE VOTES. Don’t give it away freely. IF you don’t think the top tier candidates is going to work for you…….then don’t be afraid to vote independently for the one that you believe will work for you. If WE all think this way, then we will get the right person to lead this nation.

you will never get a straight answer from Rumsfeld on anything. you will never get the truth from this bastard. if you noticed the detail he had for one answer that was inconsequential, but the usual bushshit answer, I don’t recall for all the others.

with all the basic rights to freedom of speech taken away now and shit-for-brains making it a crime to dissent on the war, it will take more than gitmo to house all those who will soon speak up for our lost constitutional rights. bush/chaney are fascists.

I don’t understand why Kucinich is not more vocally supported by the left blogosphere. Whether it’s Iraq or warrantless wiretapping or impeaching Cheney, Kucinich consistently takes the positions that I hear the majority on here clamoring for. So where’s the love???

23
paranoia Says:

Just about everyone I know is for Kucinich, but write him off because of the coverage, and that he will never get the primary. I kind of wonder if he is the one to get, and people let go of the fact that MSnbc, and cbs, and any other major network wont cover him, and keep focusing on Hillary and Obama, to vote what the blogger seems to suggest. The other thing I like about Kucinich is that he seems pretty stable all of his career, and consistent.

Give it to ‘em, Dennis…This lil guy has some huge cajones…A true American. Enough is enough..get rid of these idiots.. have you heard….

It is amazing that it is the US policy to increase the chances of
accidental nuclear war. This has been commented on in depth in my
blog. Why isn’t anyone doing anything about this insanity? We should start a campaign to change the policy. I think the arguments in my blog can help. Or would you prefer that we all be annihilated? It is not only Bush, it is all those who can act, like you, but are not. [Don’t come to this site to scold-Sitemonitor]

The Left Blogosphere is NOT the bastion of progressive thinking and action they want you to think they are.

The LEADING blogs, as evidenced at Y2Koz, are mainstreaming themselves as fast as they can.

Read Driftglass’ take on it all . . . hell, just read the blogs.

They continue to support white bread and butter, down the line.

There’s a lot of noise, but, the blogosphere mainstream is not about revolution, it’s about becoming something and it’s about itself . . . it’s NOT about the poor, working poor, or even the progressive disenfranchised ‘dirty fuckin hippie’s’ they purport themselves to be MODELED after.

There’s room among the blogosphere, NOW, for someone to stand up, and make a stand, and SAY something, and voice a ‘call to arms’ as it were, for defending the masses against the 1%’ers.

The MSM Blogosphere is NOT making that call . . . they are NOT progressive.

And that’s why Kuch and Edwards (dream team) are shut out, not by the MSM, but by the Blogs.

They’re killin our own revolution. They have become as traitourous to change, as the dem’s and pub’s are.

Harumph.

NBC Ignores Kucinich’s Grilling of Rumsfeld

I think that is a bit harsh, after all the CNN’s and MSNBC’s only have 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to cover the news. When are they supposed to fit in such things in their busy schedule? There’s just so little time left after covering what Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton are doing each day.

34
steambomb Says:

If you cannot see the collusion between the MSM and the GOP you are blind. We all know that a grilling like that does catch the public eye when it is aired you cannot tell me it is about ratings. They flat out ignore very damaging news when it effects the GOP and have it on front and center when its Democratic dirty laundry.

35
Jesse Says:

I supported Kucinich in ‘04, and I’ll be supporting him again this cycle. He’s one of very few democrats that haven’t been bought by corporate interests. Sadly, this is also why he will never get elected.

There’s a HUGE conflict of interest here. After all, why would massive conglomerates like GE want to give the spotlight to someone who wants to end the corporate stranglehold on our government?

Kucinich is the only true progressive running, as far as I can tell. He’s everything the democrats SHOULD be.

33 Smack_dab you made me laugh

and the sad thing is that since Dennis is not easy on the eyes like the “girls” you referenced (and I’m sure it was an oversight that you left our Britney and Nicole and the rest of the skanks), the MSM has decreed that Merkins couldn’t support someone short and funny looking when there are so many sleek, pretty and empty suits and pants suits out there to look at and vote for

38
Rehen Says:

Yeah Kucinich! Too bad he cannot be heard over the propagandists.

By the way, how many fuck-ups does an administration have to make before they are universally recognized as FAILURES? How much disinformation must they spew before they are recognized as INSINCERE? I am sick of watching they media pretend that all is ok and within the norm.

If the war does not end under this administration, we are going to have to listen to all of these neo-con ghouls and their talking head buddies in the media give their “expert” advice and critique about how to manage the war throughout the next administration. You know, they will put out their plan on how they would have done things better. I have a feeling they will find no trouble finding a microphone.

vinny Says:

Herbert @ 36:

Note in clip how Rummy cuts Kucinich off to blather on about an unimportant discussion of press policy between DOD and WH (derrr, what should we call this war?)

40
Rehen Says:

Dennis is not easy on the eyes …————————-

Thank goodness. Looking for a guy that the girls would love and vote for is the strategy that gave America Dan Quayle. Unfortunately, at this point DQ would probably be a huge improvement.

41
FreeDUMB Says:

Answer to the best of his ability. What if his ability is to weasel out of answering the question. Kucinich persues a good line of questioning, because outsourcing the military has been an unmitigated disaster, and Rumsfeld was brought in specifically to privatize anything not nailed to the floor in the pentagon. They’ll try to pin it on a private firm so that none of the actors have any personal liability.

42
StCyrlyMe Says:

Then why the hell is Bush withholding information of this young mans case?. If there is not reason to hide anything and the white house had no involvement of any kind, why the hell is he refusing to provide whatever evidence he may have that could lead to the truth.

These bastards are lying like the snakes they are and I hope that Mrs. Tillman, continues to keep foot in all of their asses, until she gets the truth about her son.

This is so wrong for the so called President of the United States to be withholding evidence of a crime.

And this fool is still in office is just unforgivable.

44
vinny Says:

Here’s a good online movie about some of the young men and women coming home from Iraq and how their conscious is finally kicking, causing them to reflect on all the death and destruction that they participated in, and questioning whether what they did was really for a good cause or not. It’s moving.

The Ground Truth (2006)

Expect more and more of these stories to emerge from veterans and eventually the Iraqi people.

I love Dennis. I don’t think he’s even partly “presidential” and I don’t think he even wants to be president, because he can be serious as a heart attack, very impressively so, at will, and chooses not to when he’s running for president. I laughed and laughed and laughed, lovingly, at this Indecision 2008 Caption Contest Winner… but the truth inhering it is that, even when showing clearly that he is the best human running, he doesn’t come off as someone strong enough, tough enough, for the job. He’s an extemely intelligent man. I gotta think he knows this perfectly well, chooses to sing goofy songs on his campaign stops, and runs just so he can keep his issues on the table.
