Mike's Blog Round Up

The 'Tude:  Muslims in Afghanistan?  Who knew?

Connecting.the.Dots: Almost six years after the Twin Towers fell, the attack has claimed two more lives and injured others, but this time the work of terrorists from the Middle East was apparently abetted by good old-fashioned home-grown crime and corruption.

Intrepid Liberal Journal:  Government lies about the Drug War: a podcast interview with criminal justice professor, Matthew Robinson.

Talk To Action: The Distiguished Panel of Judges named Dr. Gary Cass, "Theocrat of the Week".  They applaud his efforts to head off Darfur-scale genocide against America's Christians.

Consortiumblog: While writing his new book about the Bush presidency, Robert Parry was surprised at how often former Vice President Al Gore turned up making tragically prescient comments.

Looks like we're losing--at least for the time being--two of my favorite bloggers; Bob Geiger and Max Sawicky.  They'll be missed.

Mike, thank you.

The 'Tuders

From the Intrepid Liberal Journal:

“This is crack cocaine seized a few days ago in a park across the street from the White House . . . It could easily have been heroin or PCP.”

This was back in '89. I'd like to know how Poppy Bush managed to keep Junior's hands off it.

Terrorists from the M.E., whatever,

Open letter to "The Goracle":

We neeed you now!!!

On Bush's future nominee: “They will let him skate away with impunity after he makes any and every pious attempt to sound as inoffensive and nonpartisan as possible despite the fact that odds are three in four they’ll be questioning someone who helped Bush mug Al Gore and steal the fucking White House…”

Re Theocrat of the Week: "Genocide being the ultimate expression," Cass declared, "the deliberate, systematic extermination of a group of people."

If ignorance were lethal, the extermination would have already begun. But guess it's not.

Paraphrasing A. Lincoln--God must've loved ignorant people; he made so many of them."

How 'bout another closeted Reichwinger -- Senator Larry Craig -- woo hoo, airport sex!

from someone who has been on the other side in the drug war i can tell you for a fact that they have been lying every day since day one. i honestly think that they have so few in their agencies that actually KNOW something about the production and sales that they think they are telling the truth. anyway danged if i know.
i know one thing. the war on the people of eastern kentucky goes on. if they need more troops in the mid east they could pull off some of the military helecoptors that cruise the entire area day and night all year long. goddamn what are they expecting to find some effin cartel.
every few months (in the summer) they find 15 or 20 pot plants and make a huge show of pulling them up onto the hovering copter. big pictures on the local news and newpapers-"Huge Pot Bust" "Street Value $80,000!"

i think about the lack of computers for students in the area, about all the people who need job training, cheap healthcare, transportation, better roads, better water...the whole thing makes me sick on a daily basis.

Can this administration be more insensitive? Football dropped from a airplane? Gawd, how did the Iraqis know it wasn't some sort of bomb? Then put their holy words on something we call pigskin. They knew.

Yup, Gore was right about almost everything, and Bush was dangerous - but who did the press smear and who did the press promote? What shallow bastards.

The piece on Cass is amazing. What a persecution complex. And I get really sick of the revisionism of these theocrats. They apparently never bothered to read the Constitution or study (fact-based) American history.

Sorry to see Geiger go. I'm sure he'll be back, but I understand the life-time-balance issue.

Old rudy was suppose to have cleaned up NY. Looks like his buddies are back in business (if they ever left.) Just like chimpy, rudy puts on a facade of doing what's right.

Just as the "war on terror" ain't working neither is the the "war on drugs." I agree with the the first comment from this article.

It's all bullshit.

Of course they knew.

That is what makes it so utterly offensive.

They knew.

Thanks Mike.
