The fact is Rudy really is married to 9/11. He cannot define himself in any other way.
Answering a cell phone in the middle of a speech makes him look rude. I can see myself in a theater, my phone rings, I say I have to get because of 9/11, then go “hi, girlfriend! Ohh I’m just watching a show. No, that’s okay, I can talk…..” I would get my ass kicked. You turn your phone off at restaurants, you turn your phone off at movies, if you are in the audience at a speech, you at least turn it to vibrate. If you are giving your speech you turn your phone off. You show sopme respect for your audience. Your damned press guy can take a call from the old lady and give you a message if some fool managed to hijack her. If so, she probably no longer has access to a phone anyway.
We are all lectured about etiquette by these guys while they are a bunch of neanderthals. “Oh, this is my wife, I gotta take it, because of 9/11“. This was a stupid stunt to try to make himself look like a family man. Not going to work Rudy.

How convenient with cameras rolling while giving a speech to get the call from his dear sweet adoring wife who wuvs him sooo much see has to just happen to call at that time of all times.
At the next campaign stop Judith (if that who it really was) will call and put a cute little puppy on the phone to give daddy sweet wet puppy licks and kisses. But don’t expect Rudy’s kids to call, they don’t speak to him at weddings or even going to vote for him.

i don’t know any nra members but i know several nra ‘types’. if a man making a speech they attended, stopped in the middle of a point about the nra, so his wife could talk to him on the phone would be seen as — should i say kitty whipped here or is it ok to say he would be seen as a pussy whipped new york style wienie. while he was talking on the phone they were thinking — hmm wonder if there is something about all the dress up he plays — wonder if his wife really does wear the pants while he putters around the house in a french maid’s outfit…with fishnet stockings. mmmm. manly.

but back to whether it was rude of rudi. sure but i think mainly it shows that he is pretty clueless at judging his audience. to use such a trick once is rude and goofy to do it twice is strange. if his judgement about a silly campaign strategy is so effed up what will he think about complicated real issues?
I don’t think it’s good to perpetuate this crook guiliani’s prestige by calling him “America’s Mayor.” He’s never been nor will be my godamned mayor.

Guiliani has been pulling this stunt at other campaign events that he has been at–they just weren’t televised. Apparently, someone told Bob Novak, who wrote about it in his column for (9/28-29/07) because it was in the newspaper this morning.
This guy is an empty suit with a very nasty disposition and temper. When he was at the Justice Dept., he was loathed by his coworkers. He’s the kind of guy you either love or loathe–there is no in between.
He also was interviewed recently for the Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) and gave Pat (”send me your Social Security Check”) Robertson an interview. (Again, according to Novak).
