I stumbled across you guys a couple of years ago, after CNN did a blurb on blogs and mentioned Daily Kos and Kos linked to you, John. Hell, I didn't even know what a blog was. But I've seen so many C&L regulars go on from here to start their own blogs. I 'm not sure you fully comprehend just what it is you have done. You've helped to give voices to those of us that have felt no one is listening. Bet your ass their listening now.

I don't remember exactly how I discovered this website (2 years ago??), but once I did I was hooked! You're pioneers to say the least, and frankly I receive more news from this blog (and others) than from the MSM. I visit the page almost every day, and when I do it is one of the first websites I check out. So plenty of congrats to you!!

Speaking of blogs people like... each one has a different style, but C&L is at the top of my list... believe it or not I don't like Atrios (it's like a link factory!). I check out FireDogLake sparingly, and DailyKos features an awesome community, but you need to be a part of it or otherwise you just get lost because there is so MUCH information! The other site I really enjoy is Democratic Underground. They have hilarious sections (Top Ten Conservative Idiots), lots of videos, a very healthy community (only DailyKos beats it), and lots of news on diverse subjects. Just checking their "top news" section keeps me informed for the day!

I digress - happy birthday and many happy returns!!

damn you; now I have the birthday song running over and over in my head, along with the second verse (worse than the first). Makes water boarding look like summer camp. I better go to the next article and find something else to be pissed off about.

If it wasn't for Blogs like C&L, Anonymous Liberal,Hullabaloo,Glen Greenwald, Daily Kos, etc etc I would have packed it in "gone fishin" while mankind fiddled away as Rome burned thinking "Good Riddance" to bad rubbish.....
but the blogs came along and gave me hope, got me to believe maybe something can be done even if though the 4th Estate has been corrupted.
I was part of last experiment of free will and expression during the sixties and seventies and look forward to being around to see this one through thanks to C&L et al.

I totally agree. I've been on one in particular that you have to wade thru an amazing amount of kissing up to long-time commenters or unmonitored slug-fests brought on by trolls. Here, you can easily find the pithy or informative comments.

This site has helped me to learn that there are others out there who really are thinking about the changes that are needed in our government and lives in general. And this site has added cohesiveness to this group even while we argue back and forth. The site monitors do a really great job too. Except when they hit me. But really, thank you to all of the people and contributors at C&L! This is the best site on the planet.

Right on bobswire. Like another poster this evening, I'm fast approaching 50 and, like you, was pretty down due to the MSM kowtowing to power instead of informing us. The internet and blogs were what gave me hope that there was a way for the left to communicate, regroup and come back strong. Watch out right wing; you're no match for the people and the truth.
