Westboro Baptist Church Pickets Mike Huckabee In Kansas

GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee campaigned in Topeka, Kansas today and was greeted by Rev Fred Phelps’ homophobic flock from the Westboro Baptist Church. Huckabee has recently equated homosexuality with pedophilia and has suggested that AIDS victims should be quarantined, but apparently that just isn’t enough hatred of teh gay for these people. These people are repulsive, but I had to chuckle at the sight of homophobic religious fanatics protesting another homophobic religious fanatic.

I wish all these idiots would go find themselves a country (or island or planet or whatever) that doesn’t have gays, so they can live and be happy little bigots! But they should leave America, we don’t need them or want them!

In my mind, this just further illustrates that the phrase “Religious Tolerance” is an oxymoron.

Shouldn’t Phelps be institutionalized. He clearly is insane.
Someone should put him in a straight jacket.
He can share the same padded cell with Coulter.

They should be hating the whole bunch running on the right, and those that have gone.
Jon Stewart had a good segment on Romney’s departure speech. If that character is not despicable, then another word must be found, or it needs to be re-defined.

There was a cartoon in National Lampoon about 25-30 years ago…a man walking into a pub, and a man sitting at the bar, whispering to the bartender, “Smell that? That’s a Methodist. You can smell ‘em coming from miles away.”

The cartoon was titled Religious Bigotry Hits An All-Time Low.

I think we’ve got a new all-time low.

Their signs don’t mention Huckabee.

Maybe they just wanted to protest where there would be people passing by, and weren’t actually protesting against Huckabee.

24
CD Says:

WTF?

This shows just how crazy the Phelps kult is.

Even if a guy agrees part way with them they still protest him.

This is the best way to deal with them.

okay, this is definition #6 from The Urban Dictionary, but it’s probably the closest to the truth

teh
Originally just a misspelling from people typing too fast, “teh” has become a word used by net.writers to exemplify people who are ignorant or simply not thinking clearly (perhaps because they’re typing too fast).
I was reading a fundamentalist site the other day, and the writer was all upset about kids listening to rock’n'roll. He believes it’s TEH DEVIL MUSIC FROM HELL.

Bookmark The Urban Dictionary. It really comes in handy.

Add to that the sign that says “Thank God for 9/11″ on the left side. How do these people look at themselves in the mirror after spreading this type of hate?

They’re all hovering around the institutionalizable line.
Their commitably crazy quotient is in the incarceration red zone.
Insane in the membrane monitors malfunction in their proximity.

Pick your favorite or collect ‘em all!!

56
seevee Says:

I think maybe the Phelps gang ( many of them are lawyers ) are just gaming the system. They go around saying the most vile things, supposedly in the name of their god, almost begging to be censured, then sue if their free speech rights are infringed. It beats working.

A bunch of scam artists.

57
Peter G Says:

I hope I never catch teh church.

58
Scottie Says:

If there is one thing that tends to unite repugs and dems, it is the sharing of laughter at the Westboro Baptist Church and it’s psychotic leader; Freddy Kruger…err…Phelps. Even here in Australia, we can’t help but chuckle quietly at the thought of such a guy being given a platform of sorts to spout nut-baggery.
