Bush just bounced off 19% and he’s still there, which leads me to believe he’s got some dirt on the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff…like, letters to his mistress, or something.

Pericles has it right. The anti-liberal/Fox Network group is still quite strong, so this 19% figure is truly remarkable. Consider that 10% of the public supports any president, just because he’s president and they think it’s right to do so. In reality, Bush has about 9% support for his policies. Amazing. His base has vanished, totally.

Conclusion? Huge numbers of people have decided that Bush isn’t a real conservative. Welcome to the real world, folks! Real conservatives don’t run up trillion-dollar deficits fighting a war that can’t be won, meanwhile telling us after five years that it will be won.
