In his Wisconsin victory speech this evening, John McCain wasted no time in firing shots across Barack Obama’s bow. Hoping to highlight the Democratic frontrunner’s inexperience, McCain to partisan cheers ridiculed Obama’s promises as “eloquent but empty.” But in a preview of Republican duplicity to come, McCain blasted Obama’s past advocacy of unilateral American attacks against Al Qaeda targets in Pakistan, attacks the Bush administration itself is now finally carrying out.

Update: John Amato:
When Bash confronts McCain on this issue—saying that the WH wants to do the same thing, he gets a little nasty. He tries to make the case that Obama should keep quiet about his intentions.Sure, just like Bush has. And what about McCrazy singing bomb Iran?
He’s still very hostile to Dana Bash of CNN…

You think in this day and age, McCain will get away with this? I mean, I’m sure he doesn’t read blogs that connect the dots.. but someone in his campaign must now that this may backfire?
the double-talk express has left the building with john insane as conductor…
CHOO! CHOO!
The Strange Talk Express is pulling out of the station now with no conductor…….
Wha - ?
That’s one dumb attack on several levels from John “100 years” McCain.
I think great-grampa is getting confused.
McGrandpa needs a nap….and perhaps a diaper change.
McCain is totally hypocritical. First he backs Bush, then he doesn’t, then he does once again. McCain is putting on the Bush cloak and trying to appear that he is not. That’s not going to play well in the general election. Too transparent and disingenous.
It’s too bad that this confrontation has to come from someone like McCain.
Obama should have been confronted long ago by liberals and people who love peace and justice.
Instead, the left has done nothing but suck up to this phony.
Clinton, as flawed as she is, is head and shoulders above Barack.
But the left is so lazy and stupid and sheep-like, they can be led by the nose to some vague promised land in Obamaville.
well, we gotta hold the media’s feet to the fire.
Those comments came out of the neocon playbook. Fox News Sunday Chris Wallace’s interview with Bush. Bush said almost the same exact thing.
Remember the first Rule of the GOP.
Never let the facts get in the way.
Also…play THEIR game…don’t respond…ATTACK!! Attack their patriotism! Attack the useless deaths of young Americans! Talk about gas prices…link them to the war! Talk about the housing crisis…talk about the collapsing stock market…food costs….c’mon…GW Bush has given us enuf material to win THREE elections.

I realize that some people post silly outrageous crap on here just to watch the reaction but I must say that yours is one of the stupidest posts I have ever ever read.

Population: Not you!
McCain is done, stick a fork in him
He forgets the US bombed Pakistan in January and without notifying Pakistan.
This old geezer is looking for dirt and can’t find any.
Go Obama, Go
This morning McCain was on tv talking about this, among other things. He said you don’t announce to your enemy what you are going to do. You can’t let them know what to expect. Then he said, you can’t bomb another country without asking that country’s permission.
McCain’s only claim to fame is that he criticized the war. He also supported the surge and he claims it’s working.
Today we hear that Muqtada al-Sadar, is considering calling off his ceasefire. If he should do that, all hell may break loose.
PeteSez @ 8:
Oh yeah?? Really? Name one thing Hillary has done which places her “head and shoulders above Barack”? Last time I checked, Obama opposed the war in Iraq. Hillary, on the other hand, remained a loyal Bush dog in cheerleading for the war, torturing prisoners, spying on Americans. So tell us. What makes Hillary “head and shoulders above Barack”?
i had, in some ways, feared that mccain might prove to be a strong candidate… but, after witnessing this dishonest rambling i couldn’t be happier that the GOP has chosen such an angry and confused man.
and, from mccain’s speech, one can see the way the GOP is going to try to frame the 08 race (that the GOP is pro-people, while the dems are pro-big-govt).
bwahahaa. this is just too easy. the GOP has lost its edge if that is the best they can do. not to mention mccain’s suck-up to al qaeda-coddlng pakistan…
“America cannot risk a confused leader who had proposed bombing America’s ally Pakistan. and said he would negotiate without preconditions with America’s enemies such as Iran, who deny the Holocaust” _ john mccain
Is the Bush administration guilty of plagiarism?
mccain is so full of it. he will be lucky once the real
campaign begins that his heart does not give out
from all the bullshit lies and crap that comes out of
his ass-kissing mouth.
he should remove the ass-snap from his mouth
so it’s not so obvious that he has been attached
to cheney’s butthole.
If McCain is really giving us “straight talk,” he would condemn Bush, who is actually behind a missile attack in Pakistan, more harshly than Obama, who raised the possibility.
abob @ 18:
Funny that McInsane would bring up Holocaust denial. After all, there are quite a few AmeriKKKans who deny the Holocaust. I’ll bet a fair number of them comprise his base.
PeteSez @ 8:
crybaby!
Maybe McCainiac Wants the Same Valentine’s Card that Al Qaeda Sent to Bush
PeteSez @ 8:
So true.
McCain can try to smear Obama as much as he wants. People are rejecting this rhetoric. Bush is at a 19% approval rate, why would this country vote for the Republicans.
I think McCain is as scared as Clinton. They are trying to throw as much mud as they can and hope that it could slow the Obamentum. It didn’t work in Wisconsin, it won’t work in Ohio or Texas either.
This is good for Obama, because people are getting real tired of these negative attacks and I think McCains attacks will backfire. I bet by next week Obama will have over a 10 lead on Hillary and a way bigger lead over McCain.
Earl @ 24:
Damn, who needs McCain when you’ve got rabid Hillary supporters?
John McCain plays his role well, that being an angry, frustrated runner-up who never becomes president, upon whom we’ll look back and say, “How the fuck did he ever get that close?”
To be a loyal McInsane supporter, you must understand that everything he says supersedes everything else. The “Straight Talk Express” takes a lot of detours, so when he talks tomorrow, you must erase from your memory everything he had said today.
Is McCain denying that he plans to bomb Iran?
I’m sure Obama has a bigger gun than mccan’t.

Examples of right-wing thinking:
Ex 1.
Lib: Protect civil liberties.
Con: If you don’t support us, you are for the terrorists.
Ex 2.
Lib: I’ll attack Osama bin Laden wherever I find him.
Con: You’re insanely dangerous! AND I’ve conveniently forgotten Bush said this, AND if McCain said this I’d be cumming in my pants.
goatsage @ 26:
Watch it or I’ll byte ya!!
goatsage @ 26:
Who needs the Nazi Party when you have rabid osama supporters?
I heard Grampa delivery his rhetoric, and I can tell you right now, that was no “blast”.
Grampa is old, hollow, lacks inspiration, lacks fire, lacks substance. His audiences are pathetically small, and they have all the excitement of a polite golf applause.
The only “blast” Obama will feel is if Grampa attacks Barack with his cane.
Earl @ 33:
Okay, case closed.
pissed off patricia @ 15:
Don’t announce your intentions to the “enemy?? Or, let’s stay in Iraq for 100 years???? What about McCain’s, “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iraq???? What a hypocrit. I actually feel sorry for the guy. No old-man jokes, but I’m afraid McCain’s not driving with all cylinders. Not to mention that he looks and acts very sickly.
Earl @ 33:
Yawn! Oh yeah, Earl that’s sooooo original!
I can’t believe that once-upon-a-long-time-ago, I actually has some measure of respect for McCain. No longer. This guy has absolutely zero integrity.
gene214 @ 37:
Thank you. Sieg Hiel!
On fox news right now they are saying Iran is planning to get it’s nuke plan up and running in anticipation of a democrat being the next president. They are insinuating that Iran will feel safe to continue it’s nuclear weapons program if a democrat is in the oval office. How nicely does this play into McCain’s hands?
Insane McCain flips one way flops the other. Don’t blame him though he’s just a senile old man who can’t remember where he put his glasses or his mind Somebody empty Johnnie’s drool cup please and change his depends while your at it
goatsage @ 26:
did you say rabid Hillary supporters?
pissed off patricia @ 15:
Give it a few months and all hell WILL break loose and make our casualties to-date seem minor.
Lollimom @ 34:
Or breaks wind.
If Obama’s words are “empty,” McCain’s are “full of it.”
well, it’s obvious that sHillary supporters will destroy the party rather than support it. I remember how much they supported Gore and Kerry. no surprise here.
pissed off patricia @ 40:
Cripes! Do you know what living in a post-nuclear apocalyptic wasteland will do for our property values?
Paul @ 38:
The sad thing about McCain is that he’s totally clueless. He just doesn’t understand why he’s not rallying people like he did in 2000. He simply can’t grasp the notion that everything he has done in the subsequent 8 years has driven away all the moderates who were clearly impressed with his “Straight Talk Express” (Hell, even I liked the guy back then. Fortunately, I’ve gotten over it). He’s not the same guy as in 2000 but, and this is the truly pathetic part, he honestly believes he is.
