McCain trashed in Feb fundraising totals: So much for the NY Times outrage

Hillary Fundraising in Feb:

In a remarkable financial recovery, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton raised $35 million in February even as Democratic rival Barack Obama was outspending her in key March 4 battlegrounds.

McCain:

Likely Republican presidential nominee John McCain raised a little over $12 million in February, two campaign sources tell CNN’s John King.

Barack has raised possibly 50 million from some reports in the same time period. Didn’t the McCain camp say they raised tons of cash over the NY Times story? What an embarassing turnout for McMaverick.

I think most of the big money Repigs have figured this to be a lost cause, and are keeping their money for another “true believer.” After all, this frickin’ McCain believes in global warming, so how loyal to the oil pigs can he be?

Unfortunately, the elderly fools who support McCain can’t contribute to him because they need to pinch pennies to pay for their outrageously priced prescriptions thanks to the GOP. It’s a vicious cycle.

Not to worry, just wait until some of that missing Iraq money makes its way into McCains campaign coffers. There’s billions floating around somepalce close to the neo-cons.

I predict that after the primaries, corporate cash will fill the coffers of the McCain campaign. There will also be a large number of right wing 527s that will spring up when the general election starts for real. Right now, McCain has the Republican nomination pretty well wrapped up, so there’s no need to dump a lot of cash into his campaign. He’d just squander and mismanage it before the general election. Even Republicans and corporate interests know not to trust another Republican with their money.

AngryOne Says:

The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart tried to warn him in 2006, but John McCain didn’t listen. Battered by all sides over his embrace of End Times Pastor John Hagee, John McCain is finally experiencing the blowback from his pandering visits to “crazy base world.”

For the details, see:
“Jon Stewart Warned McCain About ‘Crazy Base World.’”

There is no limit to the money they can dump in the 527s.

Who’s a Maverick?

From someone who knew the great late Maury Maverick, Jr., a great Texan, from yesterday’s Washington Post. I mean, since Amato called him “McMaverick”

O.T. Why does a man who had vials of ricin in his room and sick in the hospital not being considered a possible terrorist. Maybe because he is white and not from the middle east.

Honestly, what a waste of money towards attack commercials and misleading fliers from all of them.

26
gerald Says:

Total non issue. McCain is already the de-facto Repug nominee. He doesn’t need to raise money to this point. Wait to see what kind of fund raising he has during the general election. That will be a more telling signal.

27
False Dmitriy Says:

If this continues, we will soon hear Repugs talking campaign finance reform.
