When I read in the Times about Hagee endorsing McCane I mentioned to my buddy Rod that He lost me when he went down to see Falwell. I'm not surprised at his actions, he's desperate and will do anything to get votes, even if those votes come from the people he months ago was so against. There is a word for a man like that, but I wont say it here.

But then there is the trouble created by Obama's church leader going on in that tirade the the press has found necessary to repeat over and over ad-infinitum. Some how the press feels this need to keep pounding on Obama for those words, and forgetting all about how Falwell and Hagee went on. There is a Word for what the Press is acting like in this matter.
That I will say, they are Scum, no, they are the scum suckers, not lower, they are the insects that eat the scum-suckers.

Too true, but then this country has ALWAYS been about the double standard.

We have people in this country who will in say "I'm not prejudice I love all people...I just don't want them living in my neighborhood"

My own father, yesterday was telling me about his barber's shop now has all black hair dressers...and then he said "there's nothing wrong with that" and said "They don't bother anybody" - and I can't help but think...WHAT?!? who are they going to bother? And why tell me their all black if "there's nothing wrong with it? - Now my dad is not a bigot, but this is a good example of how that shit has been wired into us for a long long time.

I saw a study with children who looked like they were all under 5 years old and separately they would ask the child to pick out the nice (or good) baby doll they we picking between a white doll and brown skinned doll and a black doll - and every child, no matter what color they were picked the white baby doll, when asked why they all said this is the good baby and those are the bad babies.

it made me weep, we are so backward in this country and it's picked up at such a young age. so for Obama to be held to a different standard then McSame doesn't surprise me in the least. I just hope there are enough Americans smart enough to know better.

Treasury chief defends Fed intervention
AP - 26 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson on Sunday defended the Federal Reserve's decision to help rescue Bear Stearns Cos., the teetering Wall Street investment bank. He sidestepped questions about whether other firms are on shaky ground and the possibility of additional interventions of this kind.

Haha!

Yes, bigotry is instilled in us by some parents but, don't you think the media plays a bigger role. They are the ones telling us that we care. The media and the facist corporations want to run against Clinton. They will do anything to cast a shadow on Obama.

The fact that one of the western hemisphere's most populated countries, that pats itself on the back for being best in so many ways, hasn't been able to restore one of its biggest tourist traps after three and a half years is pathetic.

It says more about its governments priorities than about anything else.

I could write myself to a doctors degree on it, but then again I know most of the people that frequent C & L could do the same.

The sooner the neo-cons are run out of DC, the sooner the restauration of the US can begin.

First of all, it'll be impossible to get out of the quagmire of "no change" untill the way the US elects its politicians is reformed.

That, and only that should be the focus for anyone wanting change.

I probably wont watch this adams thing because it has been shoved in my face.

Anyone who thinks that black people don't have a reason to be angry with their treatment by white America over the last 200 years is pretty stupid.

Obama Prepares For Full Assault On Clinton.
The Chicago Tribune

Buckle up, Hillary supporters. He's about to go full-on Rovian.

John Adams was the first President to truly rape the poor for the benefit of the wealthy. With Abigail at his side, he created shell corporations to exploit the laws that he pushed through congress. None of this was known for decades, until the ownership of those shell corporations slowly began to unravel. He also fought bitterly against the inclusion of the Bill of Rights, demonized Thomas Jefferson, and implemented campaign tactics that would make Karl Rove look like a saint. John Adams was a horrible, horrible man who wanted to become a king of a newfound dictatorship, not a patriot who wanted to lead a free and democratic nation. John Adams was, in many ways, the first Republican president.

I doubt any of those facts will even be mentioned in this miniseries.

I recommend reading the book. It was great! Every American should read it.
I agree they are putting it out a lot, but maybe they need to, not a lot of Americans are readers of books, most are lazy and would rather sit and munch and watch. I like reading because I get to use my own imagination of what I read, instead of a budget driven version of some story.

Sorry, I wish people had a clue what was going on ... after seven years ... this is tedious.

New Orleans was one of only several black cities in the US. It wasnt a tourist trap.

They didnt fail to reconstruct Iraq ... that wasnt the plan.

They didnt fail to reconstruct New Orleans ... that also wasnt the plan.

They didnt fail to hold fair elections in the US ... that wasnt the plan.

People that think the current government is incompetent and just cant get anything right just dont have a clue.

Here is a clue ... trace the outcomes back to intentions and you will LEARN something about who these people are and what they are trying to do. As I see things, they have succeeded at everything they have attempted. Name a thing that their 'opposition' has forced them to do?

People assume that because these outcomes are so out of line with respect to assumptions they must be failures ... silly people.

This government really really really is that vile and it is entrenched and will probably continue after the next election.

this is right !they only look stupid! thier is an under government running this country, they own all the repig politicians , all the news whore stations , all the big buisnesses and they own you!

I have had a question - that I raise from time to time - that generally isnt answered. I'll ask it again - with certainty that it wont be answered again.

Anyone familiar with the constitution understands that this government (federal) was intended to be regional in terms of representation and not a function of representation through political parties. There are no checks and balances against the power political parties - I dont want to hear about the 'other' party. I have no influence over either party and since the party is more important to the candidate than I am, I have no influence over the candidate either ... corporations and the rich do however.

Heres the question - is this of no interest to anyone? Is this not news? Are bloggers just more of the same - partisan hacks with the same old ax? Is party power politics of more interest than why we have party power politics in the first place given the constitutional design?

I call this our politburo - it isnt representative and it is accepted as if it were.

There ... I even asked it a little differently this time.

i worry over our militarys lack of nookie in iraq ! has haliburton been able to force enough iraqy women into prostitution for our gallant boys fighting the war on domination of the iraqy people and is thier enough oil in iraq to go around for exon gulf and the rest of the good old boys?

Yes, I was trying to say it from not only parents, not only media but it's instilled from so many different sources it's no wonder by father, who's 81 years old and never showed any form of bigotry ever since I've known him suddenly says something like that and that children who of various skin color all believe that the white baby is the good baby, I'm sure a black mother is not telling her child that white is right...so they are getting it from other sources. it's just so sad that we as a people can't do enough to reject it...so it goes on and on.

It is NOT purely a matter of stupidity. It is a matter of sensitivity.

Privilege is invisible to those that have it. White men still have the most privilege and still understand the least about it.

Look in the mirror and think what the PERSON is you see.

If you just see a 'person' then you are probably a white guy.

If you just see a 'woman' then you are probably a white woman. You are a woman first and a person second. There has been progress but it is incomplete.

If you see a 'black man' or a 'black woman', it will do you little good to try to forget the 'blackness', because you will be reminded day in and day out.

You can even be a successful (to some point) candidate for President and still be reminded. You are a black first and a person second, a distant second.

This country has still, a long way to go.

"It's no mystery," said Rep. Thomas M. Davis III (R-Va.). "You have a very unhappy electorate, which is no surprise, with oil at $108 a barrel, stocks down a few thousand points, a war in Iraq with no end in sight and a president who is still very, very unpopular. He's (Bush) just killed the Republican brand."

At least one southern Republican has joined the reality based community.

There ... I even asked it a little differently this time.

No our government hasn't been representative of the people because the people don't take an interest in their government. sure there are 10's of thousands of bloggers out there - but there are 10's of millions of people who just don't care...and there is very little that could happen in the world that would make them care. yet there are many people who don't care who still go out and vote...they follow what is being said by the MSM and they listen to their friends talk about who they like and the follow the biggest crowd they can find. Since Democrats are mostly private people these careless Americans end up following the Republican crowd because those people make more noise. So the people who don't care vote for someone they know very little about because someone else suggested they should.

people do not take an interest and we all get the government they deserve.

Why Isn't CnL doing a story on WINTER SOLDIER? Just because it's not on MSM doesn't mean it's not news worthy

Over 240 blogs have signed up for this international effort.

This country has still, a long way to go.

Very well said...and a very sad state of affairs...
