FOX anchor walks off set over Obama-bashing

Wow. There’s a headline I never thought I’d write.  What is going on with these FOX anchors?  This morning on “Fox & Friends,” anchor Brian Kilmeade walked off the set after repeated attempts by the two other FOX dittoheads to bash Barack Obama for his “typical white person” remark.

Although it’s true Kilmeade took particular offense to the “typical sports guy” swipe by Doocy — Kilmeade has covered sports for much of his career — his attempt to put Obama’s quote into the context of tense race relations stretching back 60 years was admirable and refreshing. Especially for a channel show that typically consists of three morons piling up on anything Democrat.

I would agree, you can’t blame Obama. It’s the media’s fault for giving Obama a free pass without any true research and investigation of his past — until now when it’s too late and the Dems are already stuck with Obama for the November Pres. elections.

P.D. Says:

Now if only they would all walk off and replace Faux News with Air America.

i’ve never understand why some very wealthy liberal (or just wealthy for that matter) doesn’t start up a fox news opposite on cable. the audience is definitely there.

4
P.D. Says:

Jeez Ted, I really don’t care who is on the ticket in November. But I’ll tell you this, I will never vote for McCain.

5
maxson Says:

He didn’t look that pissed.

Any guesses as to if this was staged? If not, yay for Kilmeade!

6
bob dobbs Says:

nice of him to walk out on those two asshats. shows he has half a brain at least.

7
Rico Says:

Maybe the Faux News audience will take the hint. Walk away.

8
ChrisM70 Says:

wow.

I never thought Brown-haired-guy-who-is-not-Steve-Doocy had it in him.

Maybe even some of the wingnuts are starting to realize just how stupid the discourse in this country has become?

9
P.D. Says:

killthepoor@3, Very true. But I don’t have any rich liberal friends. Most of my peers, are shall we say, of limited income.

Ted Says:

Aren’t MSNBC and CNN already the wealthy liberal networks (opposite Fox)?

12

Oops, my bad. I had said on the other thread that it was Wallace who walked off.
I stand corrected.
My apologies.

Is it me, or does there seem to be a lot of Fox-bashing going on here today?

Who’s gonna be the Chris Wallace or Brian Kilmeade of C&L?

A FOX anchor walks off set over Obama-bashing?

Wow.

Good Friday so good indeed.

Ted @ 11:

You obviously haven’t been watching CNN. They hired GLENN BECK.
Enough said.

Plus, a couple of liberals on CNBC doesn’t really make things even, does it? Especially when CNBC still employs fatheads like Russert and Matthews.

16
Sarasvati Says:

This and Chris Wallace…Go forth today to buy that lottery ticket and hell, ask out that impossibly attractive woman/ man you thought would never say yes cause I think hell is, maybe a wee bit, freezing over.

P.D. Says:

CNN is Faux News lite! Barely mentions Iraq, Afghanistan. Just good ole Hillary and Obama with barely a whisper of McCain. Give me a break!

Oh so clever you are. Let me ask you, why on Earth would big-bad-librul CNN treat the Hilary Was In the WH While Bill Cheated! as legitimate news if they were all of the aforementioned?

19
A&W Says:

Wow. Two people shitting on the show in such short order. Amazing. The poor suckers who’re the hosts though are probably confused since I bet money they just get their marching orders from on high and do it for the paycheck.

D.G. Bowman Says:

MSNBC and CNN “liberal”?

Are you kidding?

I suppose it’s all relative. Shrub has move the ideological goal posts so far to the right that just about anything looks “liberal” next to him and his reich-wing cheerleaders, defenders and enablers in the media …

breakspear Says:

Steve Douchey is a ‘typical white’ guy. Just look at him: limp-wristed, fey, weak, thin-lipped, stringy hair, humorless, eternally angry. Hey, I just described any fox anchor.

DirtyDawg Says:

Frankly, I’d like to tear off their typical heads and shit in their typical necks…and when Obama takes power FauxNoise will be in our cross-hair. There’s gonna be a lot of rightwing, talking heads looking for work in a couple of years.

ChrisM, Glen Beck is the exception.

sundog Says:

To Brian Kilmeade - I wouldn’t have taken the job in the first place. So no need to walk off.

And to the FOX chick, (what ever the FOX chick’s name is), “Sweetheart, I wouldn’t call you a typical women. I would call you a bitch.”

30
abob Says:

Brian Kilmeade looked like a petulant pussy walking off the TV set like that. Cmon white boy; you’re better than that. If you are gonna be an Obama apologist ya gotta stand your ground and show some balls. Even the blond bimbo on the show looked more manly than Kilmeade after his gay diva walk-off demonstration.

dennis @ 13:

Is it me, or does there seem to be a lot of Fox-bashing going on here today?

Who’s gonna be the Chris Wallace or Brian Kilmeade of C&L?

And “Fox-bashing” is a bad thing because …?

Remember, it’s not a news outlet. It’s not a journalistic enterprise. It’s not “fair and balanced,” and its anchors/reporters are shameless, no-talent shills. It is nothing more than a propaganda organ for the Republican Party. Period, case closed, end of story.

If you doubt any of that, watch Robert Greenwald’s excellent documentary, “Outfoxed.”

32
ChrisM70 Says:

Ted @ 23:

ChrisM, Glen Beck is the exception.

Any network that would hire Glenn Beck, even if he was the “exception” is a network that is incredibly flawed, and certainly not liberal. Beck is a raving lunatic and unacceptable to watch for anyone with half a brain.

Norbert Says:

i thought the way the camera followed him out and then fades back to the two main morons was way too slick and that it must have been staged. then i started figuring we are not far from Jerry Springer-ized ‘news’ in which Fox personalities break chairs over the head of libruls. i can see them calling out libruls pro-wrestling-style “he’s afraid to come on my show and get an ass-whupping GRRRRRRR”

37
Ted Says:

I’m wondering, is Keith Olberman as far left (in the tank for the Dems/Obama) as is Glen Beck far right (in the tank for GOP/McCain)?

38
Leslie Says:

Maybe this is tied to Fox’s ratings? It can’t be good for Fox, which represents the GOP, that Mr. 30% has damaged the GOP brand.

So these Fox guys may be worried about their futures, more than fairness.

Let’s have an honest discussion of race? WTF.

Let’s see the crackers on FOX take the black side of the debate for 2 hours.

It’s a ploy to make them look “Fair and Balanced” lol

Science Says:

I’m pretty sure it was a joke. He didn’t walk off because of the Obama comments, it’s because his idiot co-worker tried to make a crappy joke and he ran with it.

42
Joe O. Says:

Let me guess, Kilmeade was met off stage by a bunch of men pointing weapons at him. That usually is the case with a state run media outlet like Fox News.

The Dems are stuck with Obama? WTF?

FOX is looking really stupid. All they do is dissect ever word Obama speaks and uses reverse racism. May this evil vile network is more than Kilmeade can stand. Sports is much more fun. Stay tune. May Hannity will get a soul.

44
no longer a proud american Says:

i love the fact that even fox news is starting to show some responsibility and good judgement. maybe this will be the lead for the rest of network news, especially the smiling anchors, to grow a pair and also do what is right, what they should have done all along.

No. Beck is a NUT.

Olberman is SANE.

46
P.D. Says:

Leslie, you hit the nail on the head. I think we are going to see a wave of blue this year. After Hassert stepped down and was replaced by a Democrat in a special election, the GOPs were probably wetting their pants. In PA it does’t look good for the Repubs either.

Well the plain fact is that Beck and Lou Dobbs are right wing lunatics. There is nobody at CNN who is their liberal equivalent. They still have some fairly decent unbiased reporters (like Anderson Cooper) but all their opinion headliners are very conservative (except, of course, for Larry King who is brain dead). There is no way that CNN can be called the liberal equivalent of Fox News. And for CNN as serious news channel (right or left), its been downhill ever since Ted Turner took the money and sold his control to Time Warner.

51
Jason Says:

“Look at that, I just proved my point.”
Not quite, though you did prove everyone else’s point. “everyone else’s point” being, that Fox Noise anchors usually fail at listening and comprehending.

“Don’t generalize a race.”
“He was speaking in the context of a generation.”
“What if I generalized a class of fans.”
*#@(%!@$^*
“Great, now we can say more offensive things that miss the point, and he’ll never know.”

That brief overview is what I got out of the whole affair.

Big difference between the two — aside from whatever party/candidates they support.

Olbermann is intelligent, rational, cogent, eloquent.

Beck is a raving, thick-headed moron with serious issues.
