The SPLURGE is Working!!!
(costliest war ever in dollars and military readiness)
What the real experts are thinking.
“Bear in mind that our economy has already been destroyed, but our despicable media and government, along with the diabolical Fed, have delayed and covered up this disastrous news by wildly inflating the money supply to show false growth, by refusing to publish M3 (total money supply) statistics to cover up their inflationary binge and by lying through their teeth about every economic statistic available to the public, letting out bits and pieces of our economic demise a little at a time to prevent mass panic. Any threatened gold rally would help publicly expose these problems and send the bungling Illuminati into painful epileptic seizures and a collective myocardial infarction.”
I thought Scary Black Pastor-gate at least cleared up the confusion about Obama’s chosen faith tradition. I guess the 10% who still think he’s a Muslim are so stupid that they think the United Church of Christ is some kind of Muslim sect.
Just listened to the Diane Rheam show on NPR and Juan Williams continued to say that Barak Obama was exaggerating when he said he taught constitutional law a the University of Chicago. Even when Rheam read a press release by the university stating that Sen. Obama was a Senior Lecturer which entitled him to the designation of professor. He just wasn’t a full time or tenured track professor. Still Williams was unwilling to concede that he was wrong in his characterization. I wanted to call the show and ask him what his income was and to remind him that it’s difficult to make someone understand something when their paycheck is dependent on them not understanding. The MSM and the high priced pundits are what is wrong with political discourse.
Thanks for the link, I really appreciate it.
Seems to me the country has reached the point to where it’s nothing more than a colossal circle-jerk. Where little to no progress is made while things continue to worsen.
Yeah, let us not forget that Barack Obama is bought and paid for by Tony Rezko, a Syrian born Muslim under indictment for corruption.

Damn, sorry bout that. Don’t even know my own strength!
I know that political expert talking heads can be %100 wrong about everything and still be ask back over and over on TV to get their opinions. Like they have some kind of inside knowledge and it give the networks cover when they are called liberal. What about these financial experts? How many times were they on TV urging people to use the equity in their homes to invest elsewhere? I never bought into the hype but I sure can see how many people were. People were made to feel stupid if they didn’t mortgage their homes to pay for anything their hearts urned for. All that equity in ones home unused was the target of a great deal of Madison Ave. And don’t tell me that this advertising doesn’t work. Where is their responsibility in the housing crises? How many times to I hear people say that it was the home owners fault and should have known better. Well all the “experts” were just as at fault for convincing them all would work out for their benefit.
The first linked article up there made me so glad I grew up poor and learned to be frugal from the time I was a wee kid. Since my husband also grew up with a sense of frugality, we are not in debt of any kind. We aren’t living in a cardboard box or anything, we just don’t buy things because tv and ads tell us we need them. We decide do we want to give up our money to have this or that and most times the answer is no.
Watch this video to get an idea of the current economy.
pissed off patricia @ 13:
Growing up poor really is an advantage sometimes. I am like you, no debt and frugal. When you struggled early in life just for the necessities, it is hard to frivolously spend later on.
Bridges collapsing, cities crumbling, mortgage crises, credit woes, treasury gone. What a legacy we leave for or children and grandchildren. The Unired States is the best country in the world. Why wont are leaders invest in it? Because of greed.
navyswan @ 14:
Looks kind of like Iraq in most places.
navyswan @ 15:
And I’ve discovered if you have a little money you have less wants than when you had none. The things I used to think I wanted to get, I really don’t care for now.

Hillary Clinton Tampax Tampon Political Ad - Helping Hillary
Patricia and navyswan, I too grew up with nothing. The middle class is scappy. I can grow my own food. Barely have any debt. I wonder what our social betters will do when the when we are left in financial ruin?
navyswan @ 19:
Your on your own. Con doctrine.
The Prez is on again. Defending his wonderful policy. P.M. Rudd is on too.
If Bush is so adamant about democracy, why isn’t he boycotting the Olympics?
Mike @ 7:
According to whom? Obama gave Rezko’s campaign donations to charity. No one has accused of Obama of unethical or illegal behavior.
You want to talk about corruption: Let’s talk about Bush.
P.D. @ 23:
Yeah, Bush: The Iraqis need to know we’re not going to leave them in the lurch.
No, we’re going to bomb them to hell and call it democracy.
Pulling out 5 brigades by July? Big friggin deal. And don’t forget Rudd beat Howard(A staunch Bush ally)
P.D. @ 24:
Nancy Pelosi. Olympic boycott would be mistake
“I believe a boycott of the Beijing Olympics would unfairly harm our athletes who have worked so hard to prepare for the competition.”
No further comment on this imbecile.
It’s strange that religion should be such a big issue in U.S. politics. Seems to me like it’s a convenient tool of hate and divisiveness more than anything else.
I would guess that most people in the civilized world lean towards atheism nowadays (it’s more open in Europe), but most can’t admit it for fear of being socially “outcast”. It’s certainly true for most people I know.
The more educated, open minded and cosmopolitan you are, the less likely you are to be religious. What think you all?
LA, Yeah right Nancy, This is about greed! Hypocrisy in Washington knows no bounds.
That was a rather confusing group of remarks that bush just made. How many of those coming home in July are coming home because their tour of duty is up and they must allow them to come home?
YourMom @ 29:
Clinton is using the vast right-wing conspiracy to throw everything she can at Obama. If she can use his religion, she will. Bush has used religion as well. If Obama is the Democratic nominee, we can expect the right to go after his religion much worse than Clinton. Saw a poll somewhere that said 1 in 10 people believe Obama is Muslim. Even if he were, which he isn’t, so what?
I’m tired of this crap Obama is muslim. Faux News started this and they us their pathetic audience of old geezers and social rejects to parrot it. I had family members tell me he’s muslim. I told them to educate themselves.
P.D. @ 21:
Well, I can’t grow all my own food, but I can be careful about what I buy and how far it goes. Our food splurge is fresh seafood. Both of us like it and it’s available here. Trouble is that it costs two arms and one leg.
I don’t know what will happen to these people caught in this financial squeeze but I have seen this coming for over two years. Young couples buying big new houses and then realizing they needed new furniture and the scads of other things a homeowner needs, so off they went with credit card in hand. Next they needed a new car to keep up with the Jones in their new fancy neighborhood. They just kept digging themselves deeper and deeper. Then boom! They owed more their house than it will probably ever be worth again. Like the article linked said, there was no free lunch but the bills kept coming in.
Here’s an interesting poll:
I think John McCain is:
Stable - 5 votes (9.09%)
Unstable - 50 votes (90.91%)

Dorkasses for Hillary: God help them
I have some sympathy for our young people. Credit cards make it so easy to fall into debt. Our own President said after 911 Spend, spend spend. Thats our capital society at work!

For years, we have felt that self-sufficiency is the way to be safe and secure.
Unfortunately there are very few places in the U.S. where property values and/or taxes make it feasible.
To find a place you can live with a low income, you have to find a place with no jobs either.
The suburban crisis is a boom-bust cycle that is busting right now. You can feel sorry for the victims, but you can’t help them.
Yep, never seen confusion this high between Needs and Wants! “We deserve it” they tell themselves. Well yes you do, you work hard, a lot too, very efficiently I might add, productivity has never been higher so, gee why aren’t you able to afford things you deserve for working so hard, 30 or more years with basically a few days a year for Vacation?
Leslie @ 32:
So why did Shillary sit down with Scaife’s newspaper? You know Scaife, the architect of Shill’s despised right wing conspiracy?! And why does she appear on Faux News?
Moderate Bob Casey, U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, Will Endorse and Cast His Superdelegate Vote for Barack Obama. “The Answer My Friend is Blowing in the Wind, The Answer is Blowing in the Wind.” As BuzzFlash Has Noted, the Dem Leaders in the House and Senate are Officially Neutral, But Have Signaled Positions that Would Favor Obama in the Superdelegate battle. Put That in the Context of Casey’s Endorsement.
Speaking of a debt culture, the worse offenders have been the Bush administration, running up the national debt.

Polls are fun, huh? Come back in mid November and see how you feel about this poll. The only poll that counts is the one inside the polling place. Enjoy the upcoming prosperity, it’ll be a nice change from the last 7 years.
