I swear, this show makes me weep for the future.  What is with the hosts of this show?

In yet another episode of "Conservative (Non-)Thinker gone terribly, terribly wrong," co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck equates Rev. Jeremiah Wright with Jeffery Dahmer eating peanut butter sandwiches when it's pointed out to her that she is making judgments against him based on cherry-picked snippets of the most inflammatory rhetoric over a decades-long ministry and a history of good work.

"Would you say, ... I'm sure at some point Jeffrey Dahmer ate peanut butter sandwiches doesn't make the fact that he ate people any less wrong."

Congratulations, Elizabeth.  You've succeeded in making your colleague Sherri Shepherd actually seem smarter than you.

At least her husband can blame this sort of babbling on post-concussion syndrome. What's her excuse?

Oh, and Frist-like.

I cant watch it. I wont watch it. No one can make me watch it, either.

LOL! The View! Garbage in, garbage out. Don't you know, these TV celebrities got their jobs for their brains and grasp of realism? Hahahahahahaha.

Oh, and stay tuned for Monday. Oprah (more realism) is going to do a show on recession (what it is, are we in one, will it influence your choice in purse purchases)....and maybe a celeb hairdo makeover!! "If we are in a recession, do I have to whore these expensive products even harder?" Next time, on Oprah.

Truly, everyone weep for America. It is so over. What on earth convinces the producers to keep this filthy person on the air? Oh, right. Americans are stupid enough to watch it. She is the Joe McCarthy of our era, only more stupid and vapid than even Ann Coulter.

Elizabeth is the female version of Ann Coulter. If Ann had a body. And was decent looking. And actually could get her own show. Ha!

Here is not even that far of an extreme "elizablab"

You have made some REALLY stupid fu(king remarks over the years, so, we can ascertain that you are a stupid fuc(king moron.
Oh, hold on that is true....Nevermind

[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]

Here is another elizablab,

Let's say that your parents have at one point in their life done something to help someone else. Let's just say. Does that mean they are are ANY LESS culpable for bringing the likes of you into this world?
Hmmm [Deleted-Sitemonitor]!?

This poor misguided person natural blonde I see. Wow I can hardly believe how stupid republicans are!

WHY do so many comments from The View get such heavy rotation on various web sites? The HuffPost seems to cover them almost daily. Of course Hasselbeck's comments were moronic. Why? She's a moron! That's her job: to be the show right wing moron. Barbara Walters? The lead moron. Sherri Shepard? The uneducated religious doesn't know the world isn't flat moron.

Whoever produces the show is counting on these intellectual midgets to pontificate about all sorts of topics that they don't understand. Why? It makes entertaining television for the bored housewives who tune in daily. "Ooooh! I can't believe she just said that! Oh no you di-ent!" Whoopi Goldberg is the only saving grace out of this assembly of blabbering minor league celebrities. That's probably deliberate, you can't have an entire lineup of brain dead drones because it wouldn't work. Folks: It's daytime TV fluff, WHO CARES what these idiots have to say about politics?? Or anything!

One doesn't have to make a fool out of a Republican. Just be quiet for 1 minute and they will do it themselves.

What a maroon.

Everyone should write the Seahawks to complain.

Actually, if we can get her to discuss how black people were never discriminated and are on equal fields with whites today, maybe some black defensive players will take her husbands head off next season for having a stupid white-bred ignorant conservative wife.

The View: where Feminism died.

Oh sure, make judgments against Elizabeth Hasselback based on a cherry-picked snippet of the most inflammatory rhetoric over a decade-long history of good work. I mean, she was awesome in Survivor- does anyone bring that up? Noooo. She even said she may have to consider voting for Hillary after she sent her a note when her baby was born.

Seriously, if there's a conservative anywhere who cares at all what she says over what she looks like, I have yet to meet him or read about him. She's the Alan Colmes of that pathetic show. her only saving grace there is that she has said the least number of imbecilic remarks than any of the other three women on the panel in that video.

Wow...my head hurts.

Television is made by and for idiots. The appelation "boob tube" was born way before most of us were. There really is no reason for any intelligent person to watch.

"de de de deh , im fuckin crazy."

I have never watched The View I'm proud to say, and I never will.

Has the american public been dumbed down to the point when a person with an IQ of a BB can say something this stupid and actually be quoted ANYWHERE??

It's a sad day.....

Cute as a white picket fence dumb as the post holding it up.

It was truly unfortunate that not one of the View's co-hosts thought to bring up John Hagee's endorsement of John McCain and McCains' enthusiastic embrace of that endorsement despite Hagee's history of anti-American, anti-gay, and anti-Catholic comments. I was particularly disappointed that Whoopi wasn't better informed. Yet one more time that progressives (think Jon Stewart) have given McCain a pass.

WoW can you belive they let that thing on the air she must have
been raised in one of those wingnut right wing evangelical family's

actually, her husband played for the NY Giants. He was cut last year, and as far as i know is out of the NFL. It is her husbands brother who plays for Seattle.

now let's hope the view cuts her.

it is still breath taking to me that there are actually people this stupid. and they are allowed to vote no less. most of the right wing nutjob pundits are, I believe, putting on an act. they know better, but have an agenda. but people like this twit, they really believe, and that's dangerous.

Boy, just listen to the crowd when Hasselbeck made that comparison. Her comment made her look like a total fool and you can almost see it on her face when the crowd and Goldberg reacted. At least Joy Behar's comparison made more sense.

Was watching CNN for a bit friday morning, and you could watch the many WHITE talking heads appear on camera
with a big smirk on their faces then tone it down (the smirk) to do the attack on Obama and Wright.
They are paid partisan propagandists, nothing else explains their worry over nothing and the talking up of it.

no. they're both ignorant, gleefully uninformed jackasses who are in those seats for a reason.

it's just another indication of the deep level of contempt corporate america has for the american people.

You got to be kidding me people actually take that "plastictainment" seriously?

Think Barack Obama’s Pastor Reflects Badly On Him? Take A Listen To Sean Hannity’s Former Neo-Nazi/White Supremacist Pal
Reported by Ellen - March 27, 2008 - 207 comments
Neo-Nazi/white supremacist Hal Turner elaborated further on his webcast last night (3/26/08) about his past friendship with Sean Hannity. His description remained consistent with that laid out by Max Blumenthal in The Nation. Turner acknowledged he had previously made some mistakes about dates in his blog post on the subject but insisted that the framework of their relationship was as he described it. Turner was obviously miffed that Hannity had denied knowing him. As part of the proof that they had been friends, Turner recited the “back door” phone number he used to get directly on the air on WABC radio. Turner also tried to blackmail Hannity by offering to sell copies of tapes of their conversations for $100,000 or the exclusive rights for $250,000. To show you just what kind of guy he is, I've included a sample of Turner plotting white supremacist attacks with one of his listeners. With audio

Turner started off his broadcast talking about moi: “A leftist, liberal, Marxist wench calling herself Ellen, who’s probably, like, an ugly old hag and more probably than not a JEW.”

Turner supposedly struggled with the idea of going public about his friendship with Hannity. Turner made up his mind after realizing that Sean Hannity is now "a suck up to the Jews.”

As proof of his friendship with Hannity, Turner gave out the “back door number” he used at WABC to get straight on the air. The number is 212-613-3850. We have checked it and confirmed that the number goes straight to the host. I’ve also been in contact with a former employee of WABC who confirmed that there is such a system there. How would Turner know if he had not used it?

Over the past several days, Turner said he had sifted through “the hours and hours and hours of calls that I have recorded of me being a caller to various talk shows... Anytime that I spoke with Sean Hannity off the air, like while I was waiting on hold and there was a commercial break on WABC and he picked up my line during the commercial break, I have those conversations on tape.”

“Are you ready, folks at News Hounds and Huffington Post (which also posted about Turner)?” Turner asked.

He made his offer: “I will make available all of the tape recordings I have of telephone conversations between me and Sean Hannity… if I receive by Tuesday, April 15, tax day, if I receive $100,000 in donations, I don’t care if it’s a dollar each from the people who read the story on Huffington Post… I will air or make available in tape or CD or via internet download, all the conversations that I had taped with Sean Hannity.”

Turner promised the tapes would be worth it. “In my view, some of this stuff is exactly what you guys are looking for. Yeah, ohhh. Some of it is, I think, priceless.”

For those who might be interested in protecting Hannity, Turner said, “In addition, for those of you are kind of like deep pocket folks, if the $100,000 doesn’t come in or if you want to make sure that you’re the only one who gets these tapes, I am willing to sell my ownership of the tape, my copyright as a participant in the tape and the broadcast rights to all these tapes for a quarter of a million dollars.”

Turner continued, “There’s an awful lot of you out there who really hate Sean Hannity, and there’s an awful lot of you who really love the guy and want to make sure that perhaps a faux pas in the past won’t trip up his career. Here’s your chance. No negotiating.”

Later in the “n” word-laden show, Ned, from Clearwater, Florida called “on behalf of the white nationalist community.” Ned said that he’s done egging and other pranks but wants to know what the next step is for white nationalists.

Turner told Ned that skinhead groups must tap the wisdom of the elders such as himself. “We know how to utilize the law. We know how to commit crimes and not get caught. It is such a waste of talent to do small things like egging businesses and breaking windows when a much better thing to do would be to, let’s say, I don’t know, hypothetically, beat the shit out of a Congressman when he’s coming out of his office. Or grab up a federal judge or state judge and tune him up… Let guys like me point you in the right direction.”

Ned was thrilled with that advice. “Even if it’s just beating up a black guy. All of these skinheads are going to jail for no good reason. They should pick the best reason to go to jail.”

“That’s just it,” Turner said. I mean if I killed Daryle Lamont Jenkins from One People’s Project, they’re gonna put me in jail for the same amount of time as if I kill Frank Lautenberg, US Senator, so why not get the most bang for the buck. Now I’m not saying I’m gonna do either.”

Turner also helpfully suggested, “Wouldn’t it be better if they beat the shit out of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton?”

“That would be the best,” Ned agreed.

“Because those guys, they’re not always surrounded by thousands of people,” Turner said. They’ve got to come and go from places where they’re alone… Wouldn’t it be a real social statement if somebody grabbed that fat-ass Al Sharpton and knocked the living shit out of him!”

Ned laughed

Turner continued, “While they were screaming ‘White power! White power! Sig Heil!’”

Ned laughed again. “This is stuff that really needs to go on,” he said.

There were similar threats made against Julian Bond as well as Morris Dees and Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Last night, on Hannity & Colmes, Hannity challenged Obama to prove which of his pastor’s sermons he had heard or not heard by submitting a list of dates he had attended church. We again urge Hannity to prove his claim that he banned Turner because he was offended by his views by submitting audio of the call that so offended Hannity that he immediately banned Turner.

By the way, we’re pursuing a lead on another source of tapes of Turner's calls to Hannity..

The quality of the audio below is not the best but it was the best that I could get. I apologize for the the bit of background noise you hear occasionally. I did not realize that my recorder would pick it up.

Yeah!! What you said!!!

I would have to say that at least half the minister's and priest's I have heard in my lifetime, have said some batshit crazy things. Most churchgoers in this country would probably have the same opinion.

Anyone with half a brain knows this is just another transparent attempt by the republican elite (and desperate Clinton's), to try an create a guilty by association (race) to a non-issue. If that isn't racism, I don't know what is.

Too bad Mrs. Hasselbeck didn't stay with that innocuous fashion-makeover show. She was really good at distinguishing cotton twill from corduroy and accessorizing with gros-grain ribbon.

Hey Tina #48,
Turner has to walk around too. And I am sure he does not have his hatefilled pussies along with him all day either. I am sure some people might want to put the hurt on this scumbag. I know I would like to go to jail for doing something useful, rather than marignally useful. This is the way I think and pray daily about bush's rapture. If only....

comments about 'the View' about the flat earth bit and why people believe stupid sh1t and dont question

#
France, on September 19th, 2007 at 1:07 am Said:

This is the very reason why it is so easy to scare people about ‘terrorists’, ‘abortion’, ‘gay marriage’ and the topic du jour. Some people no longer have a basic understanding of how the world works to make their own sound judgment. Then we end up with people ‘not thinking about whether the Earth is round’, they’re trying to put food on their families…

These people are easy to frighten because their horizons are really low and close by. Why would they question authority when they don’t have a firm enough grasp on reality to think for themselves?

And you can’t tell them this, they won’t accept it. If nothing else they have an opinion and their opinion is just as valid as yours and mine is, right? Right? Who do you think you are to judge other people just because you once saw the inside of a library.
The saddest thing though is that they then ‘educate their children’. Can there be a greater tragedy?

Stupid programs for Stupid people...............

Hasselbeck is like the evil witch that make herself look beautiful, then just before you kiss her she show her hideousness and you scream and wet yourself... and like Africa and such as.

If you want people to ignore her, then stop posting links to clips of her!!!

Finally, someone is highlighting the plight of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Excuse me, I have a train to jump in front of now.

This a prime example of what Susan Jacoby discusses in her new book The Age of American Unreason. Americans today seem unable to think critically because of such ubiquitous influences as fundamentalist religion, junk science, and pervasively vapid programs like The View. Rev. Wright has done what many Americans refuse to do and that is to question authority and in particular the view [pun intended] that America is always right in whatever it does and against whatever country it chooses to invade and bomb. But to state those uncomfortable truths today is to be heaped with scorn by someone who the media somehow deigns to grant legitimacy, though there is no basis or credible reason whatsoever in granting Ms. Hasselback a forum to spout her nonsensical opinions.

I don't know of anyone in the States with a brain that watches crap like The View of ANY Reality shows. It's garbage TV for people who can't or wont think for themselves.
The people who watch FOX News, probably also watch FOX Reality shows and the View and probably a bunch of soaps also.

LOL, I love that ... like uh, south africa and such as.... funny.

And making Sherri (the biblically home-schooled) look smart is a miraculous feat in itself!!

Why are these shows allowed to exist - they only feed the mouth-breathers and myth-believers?

Hasselbeck is the main reason why "intelligent design" is flawed and that Darwin's "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection" is more valid. Lets face it, the only reason many men are attracted to her is because of her physical characteristics alone. They are not attracted to anything else. Her intellectual reasoning is distorted and easily manipulated by others. Her only survival mechanism is her physical characteristics.  Without that, she would be severely limited in her options in any other setting.

yeah...but but but....those tits! is she talking? sldjasdlfkjsdfjsf

Who the hell is Hasselbeck and why does she even merit a headline.

We know these Right-wing little media HO's get all dyed and siliconed up and will say and do just about anything to get the attention of Fox and Karl Rove or Tom Delay, or Bill O'Reilly and now Lou Dobbs - so why should you pimp for her??

The Right has more than enough of those already to do the job -don't you think??

its just polite non attributable and low key racism their claims and mouthing 'scary black radical' over and over again.

The details of what Wright said are not discussed here either for that matter, ferrofluid. If anything, they've been mostly defended.

Being offended by racist hatred and loonie remarks like "garlic noses" and "God-damn AMerica" and "KKK of A", "American terrorism caused 9/11 and the chickens came home to roost", "Bill Clinton did to us what he did to Monica Lewinsky- he was riiidin' dirty" -while making pelvic thrusts, 'America caused the AIDs virus', America is no different than Al Qaeda, "Israel is a dirty word- and they sought out an Arab and black ethnic bomb" - all that and more- doesn't mean we're thoe ones who are just racist and 'scared of a black radical'.

It's a little off-putting to be told that we're the ones who don't get it. If anything, this has closed off the dialogue between the races; people are forced into taking sides. I don't blame Obama for everything Wright said- I voted for Obama in my primary and there are still a lot of characteristics I admire greatly about the guy- but the questions I have about his 20 year relationship and his explanations of Wright that he's made about what he knew and didn't know that don't jibe, doesn't make me a racist or want to just mouth 'scary black radical' and be done with it.

I truly thought Obama would be the kind of guy that could bring both sides together politically and both sides of the races together as well- I think that was just wishful thinking on my part. I don't think many here were ever wishing for that and that is sad. But the marketing of this man as a uniter is just as bogus as George Bush's claims to be a uniter, not a divider. I do not think Republicans deserve at all the next President, but I also don't believe this guy is any more qualified than the current occupant even if he is an infinitely better speaker.

Conservatives who have a microphone don't have to use logic, make sense or even try to sound intelligent, as long as what they say fits on a bumper sticker and is easy to remember.

Two terms for Dubya, albeit at least one was the result of America's first coup, prove that a significant number of Americans respond better to a belly laugh, pork rinds and a beer than than to a well thought out statement of policy.

DITZ

And yes, even conservatives have them.

The only episode of "The View" I ever saw was the one where they had Bill O'Riley on. The women were so engaged in yelling and trying to get a word in edgewise over each other that it sounded like a bunch of hyperactive squawking chickens. They made Bill look like he was calm, rational and professional.
