Oh dear……does this mean he wanted people to vote for HIS BILL. I mean when someone gets a tear in their eye they are “fishing” for votes.
But he and the minority whip are men….when they cry, according to men, it is for a reason. Women aren’t allowed to have emotions.

Frankly, I think everyone in the Bush adm. should be brought up on charges of crimes against humanity. Only then will future idiots stop and think before a pre-emptive strike. Unfortunately, that will never happen. The best that I can hope for is that are all voted out of office, shamed by historians, and live a miserable life full of guilt for their share of blood-letting.

For those of us who can recall history that is 5 years old, part of the reason for the success of the attacks on 9-11 were:
1. John Ashcroft’s insistence on making organized crime a top priority, dismissing the Clinton administration wanrings on terrorism, and
2. The failure of the FBI in DC to read and act upon reports from its own district offices.
It was not a dearth of information, as Mukasey is suggesting, but a deficit of judgment by government executives in the Bush administration that made the disaster possible.
