You might want to put a big red “X” on today’s date. It may mark the start of the biggest financial revolution in the nation’s history, and is a landmark in the planned, or otherwise, transition from ‘free markets’ to an emerging ’socialism for the rich’ which is aimed at shifting the cost of bailing out bankers and speculators to the wallets of America’s working class.

The Idiot, or Presidential moves by a Moron.

Bush, on September 12, 2001, had the whole world on America’s side. Every country stood by us and had pledged their heartfelt support after witnessing the Twin Towers destruction.
But in Bush’s infinite wisdom he took that power moment and turned it into something to make America one of the most reviled countries on the planet by doing the following,

1. Lied about WMD.
2. Unilaterally invaded a sovereign nation without provocation and justification.
3. Lied during State of the Union speech re: Niger Uranium.
4. Responsible for pre-9/11 intelligence failures in White House, CIA, FBI.
5. Allowed 9-11 murderers to remain free while diverting precious military and financial resources to his vanity war in Iraq.
6. Lied about Saddam/bin Laden connection.
7. Turned Iraq into a terrorist breeding ground.
8. Lied about nation-building.
9. Opposed creation of 9-11 Commission and Homeland Security Department.
10. Disrespected and alienated the U.S. from French, German and other key allies.
11. Lied to Americans about the real cost of war.
12. Fostered an environment of torture at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo.
13. Lined Halliburton’s pockets in Afghanistan and Iraq with fat no-bid contracts.
14. Under-manned and under-equipped our armed forces in Iraq, resulting in unnecessary death and injuries.
15. Ignored the nuclear build-up in both Iran and N.Korea; marginalized Kim Jong Il.
16. Shunned Kyoto Treaty.
17. Lied about effects of man-made pollutants on the environment to support corporate pals.
18. Lied about the insolvency of Social Security.

(from dailykos)
19. Gave huge cuts to the wealthiest taxpayers.
20. Lied about true cost of health care bill.
21. Lied about Free Trade stand.
22. Bitterly divided the nation along religious, party and sexual preference lines.
23. Guilty of numerous cronyism appointments (Homeland Security, Supreme Court, etc)
24. Rewarded failures of Condi Rice and other cronies with key promotions.
25. Dreadful energy policies lead to record gas and oil prices.
26. Responsible for the largest debt in U.S. history.
27. Colossal failure of preparedness, rescue and relief during Hurricane Katrina.
28. Fostered a culture of corruption among GOP and top leadership (Tom Delay, etc).
29. Allowed Donald Rumsfeld to keep job despite utter failure in Iraq.
30. Presided over the U.S.’s lowest popularity throughout the world.
31. Saw No Child Left Behind fail.
32. Lied last week about Iraqi troop strength during Saturday radio address. Directly contradicted by testimony given earlier in the week by Gen. Abizaid.
33. Colossal failure of preparedness for the transition of Medicare Part D.
34. Allegations of fraud surrounding the 2000 and 2004 elections.
35. Not elected by a majority of the popular vote in 2000.
36. Bush’s lied when he said, “I don’t think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees.”

I’m sure I left out many other tremendous mistakes, feel free to correct this list..

There’s no way the Mad Max Neocons are going to willingly allow Obama to become Prez.

Not with Diebold and two stolen elections under their belts.

I once shocked my wife on a Saturday morning, the doorbell rang at 8:30 Am, so i got out of bed, sook off my underwear and started down the stairs, my wife asked what I was doing, told her answering the door (knew none of my friends would come knocking at 8:30)
so I opened the door, my long hair all disheveled and stark ass naked. There stook a man in suit, woman holding flyers and a child. the child got pushed behind the mom so he wouldnt have to see me. they stood there shocked as I asked if I could help them…. I watched their backs as they hurried off my porch. I turned to see my wife sitting at the foot of the stairs shaking her head. But I have to say .. THAT was fun.

“The trickle of Democratic superdelegates declaring for Barack Obama is turning into more of a gusher, fast closing Hillary Clinton’s one lead in the nomination race and ratcheting up pressure on her to defend her candidacy. All seven Democratic US House members from North Carolina plan to come out for Obama in one fell swoop before that state’s May 6 primary.” via BUZZFLASH

Gallup: Obama lead over Clinton largest this year by Mike Dorning

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Barack Obama now has a 10-percentage point lead over Hillary Clinton in a national tracking poll conducted by Gallup, the largest lead he has posted in the poll this year.

Gallup reported Obama now leads among Democrats 52 percent against 42 percent for Hillary Clinton, the third day in a row he has held a statistically significant lead against Clinton in the poll.

The movement in the national poll follows a week in which Clinton was widely lampooned for exaggerated accounts she gave of a visit to Bosnia in which she claimed she ran for cover under sniper fire. After the pilot of her plane and reporters who were on the trip with her disputed the account, she conceded she her account was a “mistake” and chalked the incident up to campaign-trail fatigure. But the exaggeration rapidly became fodder for late-night comics and video spoofs on the Internet.

Allies of Barack Obama, most notably Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), also last week promoted arguments that Clinton now has little chance of winning the Democratic nomination and that a prolonged Democratic primary would damage the eventual nominee.

The tracking poll averages polling over the past three days. Gallup noted Obama’s strongest lead was in polling conducted on Saturday, the most recent day included.

Iran urges end to Iraq fighting, says helps U.S.
Sat Mar 29, 2008 10:14pm

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran called on Saturday for an end to fighting between Iraqi government forces and Shi’ite Muslim militants to remove any “pretext” for U.S. troops to stay in Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, himself a Shi’ite, launched a crackdown against the Mehdi Army militia in the southern Iraqi city of Basra this week. Fighting has spread and exposed a deep rift within Iraq’s majority Shi’ites.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran does not regard the recent clashes in Iraq as being in the interest of the people of that country and calls for a speedy end to the clashes,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hossein said.

Speaking to the official IRNA news agency, he called for the “continuation of dialogue to find ways of establishing peace, stability and security”.

He added that by avoiding clashes “the people of Iraq take away any pretext for the continued illegal presence of the occupiers.”

Iran, which is overwhelmingly Shi’ite, has seen its influence inside Iraq grow since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that toppled Tehran’s sworn foe, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Iran regularly calls for U.S. troops to quit Iraq.

Relatives of five private security contractors abducted in Iraq gathered at the Comfort Inn near Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport this weekend. Their 16-month nightmare had reached an excruciating and prolonged conclusion that began with the delivery of five fingers to U.S. authorities last month and continued late Saturday with the identification of another victim. Remember, these deaths are not included in the military figures. 3/31

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development announced his resignation on Monday amid investigations into his role in government contracts, creating a vacuum at an agency seen as a vehicle for addressing the housing crisis.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson said that he is leaving office on April 18 “to attend more diligently to personal and family matters.”

(He was nominated by President George W. Bush on January 28, 2004 and unanimously confirmed by the Senate on March 31, 2004. Nice job Dem’s just shoe in crooks to watch over the Hen house brilliant thinking there.)

“regulated effectively” does not necessarily mean more regulation. to the “free” market myth believers “regulated effectively” might just mean no regulations. or, more likely, a system in place to protect the banks, the wealthy and the powerful, all on the backs of the public. in other words, pretty much what we already have.

as paulson goes on to say:
“I am not suggesting that more regulation is the answer,” Paulson said Monday. “I am suggesting that we should and can have a structure that is designed for the world we live in, one that is more flexible, one that can better adapt to change.”
