    John Amato’s virtual online magazine…OK, It’s a blog!

Does Malkin Not Care About Immigration Anymore?

Malkin has again given us a dose of her wordly views. Her reaction to the complaints the blogosphere has had over the ABC debate reality show? We are “ballistic.” Damn right we are, as well as most people who care about the future of our nation should be. We sat through almost an hour of tabloid style garbage, instead of hitting on things of substance. Of course, Malkin thinks our ideals of substance are fabricated: (link goes to Malkin’s site)

Don’t you know you’re supposed to just let the candidates bloviate about Compassion or Global Warming or Diversity or some other MSM-designated Important Issue?

Compassion, Global Warming and Diversity are only important to the mainstream media? I guess healthcare, gas prices, torture, FISA, the housing crisis, immigration, Afghanistan and education don’t even rank up there with MSM importance, since those issues weren’t even touched on.

We aren’t mad about the debate because we are Democrats, we are mad because we are Americans. Where is Malkin’s outrage? I guess she thinks immigration, FISA and Afghanistan are not important enough for our candidates to discuss.

I’d have been happy with such MSM-designated important issues, instead we got flag pins. Malkin is an idiot.

Congress Quietly Repeals Martial Law Provision

pril 17, 2008 in News by James Bovard | 35 comments

In late 2006, Congress revised the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act to make it far easier for a president to declare martial law. Those changes were repealed at the end of this January as part of Public Law 110-181 (HR 4986), the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (signed into law by President Bush on January 28, 2008).

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt), who championed the opposition to the original law, was also the hero of the repeal. It helped that all the nation’s governors opposed the 2006 law.

Boise State Professor Charlotte Twight, the author of the excellent Dependent on DC, alerted me to the change last night. I checked on Nexis and the only news coverage I found regarding the repeal was a 322-word Gannett News wire story from February 1 that focused on how the repeal made governors happy.

Outside ABC, Malkin’s pea-sized brain (there was shrinkage! Shrinkage!) and the MSM world, most normal people see the brain as the hardware, the synapse firing patterns are the software, and psycho-actives and conscious ‘thoughts’ are like wild-card hackers cueing novelty awareness to retain our sense of interest and experience from atrophying. (thoughts tweak the synapse discharge patterns, thus morphing perception/awareness/experience) We designed ourselves to have a continuous experience of infinite possibilities and expressions. ABC, Malkin, and the MSM, quite simply, have fried mother boards, multiple bad sectors, and their exhaust fans stopped working quite a while ago so that what we’re generally hearing when you waste valuable seconds of your life to focus on their decaying electron shells of so-called “important issues”, is the super-heated exhaust exiting pell-mell from the only port that isn’t either charred or over-worked, instead jawing nonsense syllables stung together with cognitive dissonance for the benefit of the cerebrally handicapped and the incurious inbred (the GOP), all without that disagreeable and socially offensive odor.

Anybody who has the gall to defend the ABC debate is an idiot. Right, left, up or down, it doesn’t matter what your affiliation is, that debate should have been an outrage to anybody who sat through it. It didn’t talk about ANYTHING. Who gives a frogs fat ass about wearing a flag pin??? Seriously?! And the Jeremiah Wright issue is the equivalent of beating a dead horse.

Somebody needs to let me know when I can expect to stop paying $70 at the pump for a fill up.
