Oh Newt, You can only blame yourself. By bringing religious beliefs and a right-wing rhetoric and neo-cons into the mix, you have sealed your own doom. But I won’t be crying. In fact, all Americans will have to clean up the disasterous mess you and your fellow REpugs left behind. Thanks for nothing!

That blog about the Chinese is scary and depressing at the same time.

Especially the thought that young people of China are actually less liberal that the older people currently running the country.

However, the dangers of underestimating people goes both ways. The article talks about underestimating the Chinese but they also have to not underestimate the US and the rest of the West.

Both could lead to conflict or worse.

They think their happy. A few of them anyway. Basically I find most conservatives enjoy wallowing in their own guilt. While putting on a not so authentic happy face.

Much conservative behavior is a backlash against liberals laying the guilt trip on them. Trying to get those who have more than they need to give a bit to those who don’t have enough, by making them feel guilty about having too much. That’s why I stopped thinking of myself as liberal and became a progressive.

I’ve not come across many conservatives that are that multi-dimensional. Gonna have to go with P. D. on this one.

Peter Hart, activism director of FAIR, raises an important point regarding the nine military “experts” that the New York Times chose to use to evaluate the Iraq War. None of this analysis is balanced out by having any critics of the occupation on its panel. Just as almost no anti-war activists were heard during the run up to the war, the same thing hold true for today, which would also include that quasi liberal Keith Olbermann, who rarely allows a true anti-war activist to grace his show.

Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose.

Well GE is a major supplier of parts and technology for the War Machine and so is MS so MSNBC is not exactly the ultimate freedom platform for an anti-war type.

Hillary, please please please drop out now. Yesterday’s primaries were not a “split decision”. Look at what you’re doing–loaning yourself another 6.5 million? If Bill were looking at this happening to any other candidate, he’d be putting forth 19 reasons for this to stop. He sees the handwriting on the wall…he’s a smart guy…are you both that seriously in denial about this race?

Barack–from now on, ignore Hillary and pound on McCain. It’s time.

no friggin doubt!

the reports on bolivia have been skewed, distorted and fibbed for years and years. in fact, the neoliberal pressure to enforce a corporate-dictatorship on the people of bolivia is supported by both mainstream democrats and republicans. no wonder the MSM won’t report on the issue accurately.

the fact is that america has used its influence, money and “clout” to attempt to subvert democracy in bolivia. the people were at the mercy of a non-boliviam corporate sponsored and funded oligarchy. Evo morales was a break from this.

anyone familiar with the actual events in bolivia can see right through the right wing/corporate propaganda, and see that, once again, foreign invaders are attempting to subvert the will of the bolivian people. And the msm’s bumble-fuck coverage is, no surprise, not on the side of the people.

LOL right if you enjoy misery conservatism is right for you.

My conservative friend got quite angry at me this morning telling me how happy he is. Surprisingly he said he would never vote for Obama because he’s black nor Clinton because he’s always hated the Clintons. I suspect he is like many of the 28% who have predjudices against blacks or women or both who have had their minds closed to the truth for so long that brings out the anger when confronted with reality.

S.2913
The Shawn Bentley Orphan Works Act of 2008

If I were a an artist of any type, I would really be worried about this. Basically this just about eliminates any Copyright protection for artists. Any company could use your work, for any purpose, and all they’d have to do is satisfy some vague requirement of “due diligence” when searching for the owner of a specific work. Oh of course, artists can “register” their works (at the artist’s expense for each individual work) with some private (more privatization!) registry agency. This is bullshit! What’s really appalling is Patrick Fucking Leahy introduced the Senate version. Who pushed this legislation?? Why do our so called “leaders” feel this sort of “protection” is necessary. This is what our government (GOP and Democrats alike) is doing while we’re distracted by the Clinton/Obama/McCain dog and pony show.

No populist takeover. The Superdelegates are in place to thwart the will of the voters, nothing else. If the Democratic Party chieftains don’t like the candidate selected by the peons in the voting booths, they honestly believe they can fall back on the Superdelegates to short circuit Democracy. Personally, I’d like to believe that those with the “superdelegate” status take their responsibilities seriously, and therefore would not allow themselves to participate in a scheme that resembles nothing short of a coup. Of course, I could be wrong.
