C&L's Donation Drive

It's my yearly push for some extra funds from C&Lers. Here's what's going on so far: We have a new homepage designed and ready to go. I also will be adding a few new web sites and bloggers that will be joining C&L. We are working hard on maximizing our servers and expanding their capabilities for some very nice features that you'll see rolled out hopefully very soon. We're looking to make C&L more interactive and more comprehensive.
I have over 11,500 video clips on my servers now, which is insane to me. When I first started trying to put clips online it was uncharted territory, but now it's become an Internet standard. :-) I also would like to throw a few bucks to the kind people that work so hard behind the scenes...so please help if you can. I will be posting about this all week, so anything you can do would be much appreciated.

i'm currently "job insecure" (thanks mistah bush, for sending my permanent employment overseas) but i still dropped $10 in the paypal box. this forum is too important a source not to. it's less than one pays for far inferior news sources.

is there a reason why you host your own video as oposed to using youtube?

I would venture to guess one of the reasons is because certain videos cannot be hosted by Youtube because of copyright infringements (e.g. MLB and Comedy Central). You get one warning, then your account is deleted. I found out the hard way.
But, I do like the fact that John et al does allow downloads of all the videos he presents.

I could be wrong, but last I had heard, CC wasn't bothering so much with YouTube vids. Something about how suing average people over 15 minutes of video being bad for PR.

YouTube is not without its problems. They are not all that reliable, they add their own bug (logo) in
the picture (usually on top of others), their player's preview has a large, ugly, and intrusive play button
dead center in the image, and, most of all, a web page full of YouTube (or RedLasso, etc) embedded
players is a tremendous hog when it comes to eating resources on the receiving person's computer.
Navigating slows down, sometimes things even just hang, et cetera. All this, and you're at their mercy
content-wise, too.
Let me take this opportunity to again suggest C&L post links to YouTube's and
RedLasso's stuff, as opposed to embedding their players. If not placing it on C&L's own servers, that
is. I'll be more than happy to donate towards making that happen!

If I contribute, do I get a temporary exemption from being "site monitored". In fact, you could sell exemptions - $10 gets you a day, $25 gets you a week, etc.
Just like the RC Church selling indulgences (but much more immediate).

I enjoy much of what appears on this site, and I'm even glad that you don't dwell on 9/11 conspiracies. However, I'm still quite bitter that you have resorted to advertising from corporate whores selling cell phones, credit cards, cars, etc. It is unbelievably ironic that some progressives, out to eliminate our country's dependence on private interests, will quickly (without consulting their readers) decide to plague their site with corporate advertising.
If corporate wallets are open, my wallet remains closed.

ummm, sorry bro, but i think yall are going off of the extreme socialist side. America is about two things. Monetary Credit and Advertising. Thats all. Whether you like it or not, that is what we are all about. Our economy is run on credit spent by consumers who are in turn seduced to do the aforementioned spending due to advertising. They go hand in hand.
This website has been, still is, and strives to be phenomenal. I check this website like I have a "C&L OCD". If they need the cash, so be it. As long as they aren't taking it from the Right.

What is the most cost-effective way to donate?
I'm guessing Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal deduct some service fee from you.
Checks cost us at least $.42 to send and probably cost you time to sign.
Pennies are more valuable for their copper these days, and Krugerands are too foreign.
For $25 or $50, which makes more sense in sending the cents?
The good news is that I've just sent you a donation, the bad news is that I'm a Rothschild.
Now, about your editorial style.......
I'm willing to support C&L as a Conservative I believe there need to be an equal balance of both sides views. I don't see anything for Paypal, please advise.
