Buffy: See? Dust. Just like the rest of ‘em. I don’t know what’s coming next, but I do know it’s gonna be just like this. Hard. Painful. But in the end it’s gonna be us. If we all do our parts, believe it, we’ll be the ones left standing. Here endeth the lesson.—”Showtime”—Episode 11 of Season 7–via BuffyVerse.

May 15, Bush to Knesset: “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals […] We have an obligation to call this what it is - the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.

May 21: Israel announces peace talks with long-time enemy Syria.

Seems like Israeli lawmakers knows how to succeed in world affairs: do the opposite of what George Bush says.

Olmert “appeases” Syria. Obama once again dominates Johnny at the polls. Brazil notes rapid deforestation of the Amazon. Bush has the audacity to criticize Cuban infrastructure and white-wash our occupation of the country. Bush hates the poor eating. Anyone up for some cloned puppies? Another commander lies about us winning against Al Qaeda. The Senate not only chooses to fund the war, but gut

IMO, the speculators that are driving up the price of oil are unamerican and should be treated the same way Prescott Bush was in WWII. Actually, they should be tried for treason.

The Money Supply

* For decades, the Federal Reserve has published data on the money supply, and for many years the Fed set targets for money supply growth.

* In the past two decades, a number of developments have broken down the relationship between money supply growth and the performance of the U.S. economy.

* In July 2000, the Federal Reserve announced that it was no longer setting target ranges for money supply growth.

* In March 2006, the Board of Governors ceased publishing the M3 monetary aggregate.

The Federal Reserve System and public- and private-sector analysts have long monitored the growth of the money supply because of the effects that money supply growth is believed to have on real economic activity and on the price level. Over time, the Fed has tried to achieve its macroeconomic goals of price stability, sustainable economic growth, and high employment in part by influencing the size of the money supply. In the past few decades, however, the relationship between growth in the money supply and the performance of the U.S. economy has become much weaker, and emphasis on the money supply as a guide to monetary policy has waned.

That last hilighted statement is totally false and hilights the shrub regimes determination to hide the scope of the damage they are inflicting on this country. the increase in printed money has directly led to the devaluation of the dollar, the forced increased in the price of oil and the decreasing desirability of the dollar as an investment currency. How long can those foreign powers who hold more than $3Trillion in US debt be expected to refrain from dumping the dollars they have and selling off their value-challenged Treasury bills? If the war with Iran is started, We might expect the Saudis, but certainly should expect the Chinese, to start dumping US debt. The Japanese have been very loyal allies of the US, but the Shrubs have waged economic war on them as well.

it isn’t just speculators though they do have a major impact. the shrub has the printing presses going full tilt. the current rate of increase in the supply of money circulating equals an inflation rate of 28%/year.

no upward adjustment has ever actually equalled the rate of inflation in my memory. I believe that during the wonderful clinton years, they removed the indexing of the SS benefits to actual inflation(though that may have happened under raygun/boosh), I’m not totally certain of the dates.

Does it really do any good for the elite to accumulate more wealth whe the dollar is going into the toilet. If they paid us for our labor and the dollar is worth more their wealth would be worth more. If i’m wrong, someone explain it to me.

my point is not to start a 9/11 flame war with you (i think it’s still technically against c&l policy, anyhow), it’s merely to find out if you’re sucker enough for me to set up a shell game outside your house, in order to earn myself a fortune.

most of the economic problems we will face once he leaves office. his administration
is also artificially manipulating the inflation index for the country. we have been in

Right is Wrong: the New York Times Corrects Latest Kristol, Brooks Columns on Obama
Posted May 21, 2008 | 10:25 AM (EST)

In a rare move, the New York Times offered a total of four corrections today, right under its editorials, covering the two latest columns from conservative op-ed columnists William Kristol and David Brooks.

Kristol has been plagued with errors since his column was launched several months ago, keeping internal and external fact-checkers busy. The man is a correction-generating machine. One of my country music fans call him and his conservative stable mate “Brooks and Dumb.”

[credibility, anyone?]
