I would like to hear Dunkin' Donuts rationale for pulling that ad. I would also like to see whomever made the decision fired. What a moronic reaction to some right wing fools.
Follow Skippy's advice.
here's another one to add to your round-up:
Iraqis claim Marines are pushing Christianity in Fallujah
Jamal Naji and Leila Fadel | McClatchy Newspapers
last updated: May 29, 2008 07:07:49 AM
FALLUJAH, Iraq — At the western entrance to the Iraqi city of Fallujah Tuesday, Muamar Anad handed his residence badge to the U.S. Marines guarding the city. They checked to be sure that he was a city resident, and when they were done, Anad said, a Marine slipped a coin out of his pocket and put it in his hand.
Out of fear, he accepted it, Anad said. When he was inside the city, the college student said, he looked at one side of the coin. "Where will you spend eternity?" it asked.
He flipped it over, and on the other side it read, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16."
"They are trying to convert us to Christianity," said Anad, a Sunni Muslim like most residents of this city in Anbar province. At home, he told his story, and his relatives echoed their disapproval: They'd been given the coins, too, he said.
Fallujah, the scene of a bloody U.S. offensive against Sunni insurgents in 2004, has calmed and grown less hostile to American troops since residents turned against al Qaida in Iraq, which had tried to force its brand of Islamist extremism on the population.
Now residents of the city are abuzz that some Americans whom they consider occupiers are also acting as Christian missionaries. Residents said some Marines at the western entrance to their city have been passing out the coins for two days in what they call a "humiliating" attempt to convert them to Christianity.

Anchor-baby Malkin must be really, really lonely now that she isn't on faux any longer. Her Rachael Ray rant reeks of desperation.
I suggest everyone e-mail Dunkin Donuts and complain. I did. Michelle Malken and her kin are not representative of the majority of Americans. The strangle hold these idiots have is perplexing to say the least. I guess the sqeaky wheel always get the grease.
I sent the following to DD
I have just learned that you have capitulated to a very small group of right wing extremists over Rachel Ray's scarf. Be assured that in doing so you have lost a customer who has spent $15-20 per week in your stores. I will take my business to a place that stands up to such people intead of cow towing to them.
Heaven (one version): N virgins with which to spend the eternity
Hell (all agree): Any time spent with Michelle Malkin
"JERUSALEM — Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff warned Thursday that the radical Islamic group Hezbollah "makes Al Qaeda look like a minor league team," and poses the greatest threat to national security."
So why does Chertoff come to this conclusion now?
Happily I haven't been in a Dunkin' Donut store for years and I won't be there for years to come. When a scarf can cause a company to pull an ad, we have deeper trouble in this country than pathetic Michelle.

heh!heh!
The xenophobes bitchin' about Dunkin Donuts are the same people who fear Barack Obama because his last name sounds too much like 'Obama' and his middle name is just too evil.
Unfortunately, this type of groupthink is being encouraged and propagated by the 'liberal' media at all levels.
It's sad that our country has stooped to this level, but you could see this coming like a ton of bricks starting not since 9-11, but well before that.
This problem isn't going away any time soon and it's the main reason Bush's approval ratings are in the low 20's instead of ZERO or negative numbers even.
Obama Backpedals
Lt. Col. Chaplain Brian K. Waite says of this project, “I have observed the fruits of this effort first hand. The Revival Fires Ministry has become a genuine hero in this war on terror! The thousands of Bibles provided by Revival Fires are being distributed daily by our Chaplains. I baptized sixty combat-hardened soldiers on Easter Sunday evening at mid-night, in the Tigris River! We used gun-boats, snipers and armed guards to protect us! I want to thank all partners of Revival Fires who have helped to provide Bibles for our troops. We are eternally grateful to you! My ministry in Iraq would have been at a stand-still were it not for these Bibles provided by Revival Fires!”
"The Bibles have been designed and authorized by the Chief Chaplains of the Pentagon"
pentagon "designed and authorized" bibles? services under the watchful eye of snipers?
call it christo-fascism, call it militant theocracy, call it whack-job-central, whatever you want to call it, it is fucked up and seriously dangerous.
not only is the "war on terror" a complete sham, creating more extremists and militants, it provides further opportunity for the american faux-christian-taliban to bring more into their cult
The Bible study for Atheists was great. I have a Evangelical coworker and I need bullets bad.
This is all the rationale any Christian or Jew needs to aggressively invade and slaughter countries!!
Don't be troubled over the Hagee-McCain divorce - Hagee has survived it before. Thirty or so years ago he divorced his wife when his children were 3 and 6 years of age. Within six months he married an employee that was 12 years younger. Naturally he's still a paragon of virtue . . and fabulously wealthy!
Yes, Bush brought
ethicsEth-Icks back to the whitehouse. The mere fact that there is an office 'within' the whitehouse that gives "spiritual guidance" to the president and staff makes my skin crawl.♠Bangkok-Bob♠ @ 17:
I would hope that the President and staff would be seeking spiritual guidance, but not from these creeps.

oops, sorry, hit submit twice.
Trying to apply rational thought to right-wing reactionaries is a waste of time. I have a very close friend, who I knew was a right-winger, but didn't know how far right, tell me that all Muslims are evil and will eventually try to kill us all anyway. After a long discussion, she began to realize that perhaps she was wrong. Her beliefs just come from the drivel her mother was pounding into her head as her mom reads Coulter, Malkin, listens to Rush and Savage, and watches FOX "News".
Anyway, considering the Malkinites believe that all Japanese-Americans should've been interned faster when Pearl Harbor was attacked, trying to understand this belief is no more difficult (by the way, if anyone ever tells you that that action was acceptable, ask them why we did not place German or Italian Americans in those same camps and watch them stutter).

Thanks for NOT providing a youtube link on this one.
It's not just that Malkin wouldn't know a keffiyah if Osama's mother made one for her, it's the implication that if you don't think Rachael Ray's ad is a major threat to the free world, you're a jidhadist and a Islamic apologist.
That this kind of McCarthyist scare-mongering still works is astounding. Idiots like Malkin need to be exposed for what they are, pathetic little whiners who are afraid a global terrorist organization is going to predicate their actions on a frackin' donut ad.
OT, but important. Newt is f*cking insane! Has anyone else read this? http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Gingrich_Bush_should_have_allowed_attack_0...

my comments via e-mail to DD:
Your caving in to the lunacy of Michelle Malkin's rant about the scarf worn by Rachael Ray in you advertisement is PATHETIC!
Do you REALLY think she of all people represents the mainstream of the American public?
Or is this what we should expect from corporate America after almost eight years of fear and loathing caused by the Bush Administration?
You have set a truly sad precedent with your actions.

Best wishes to Libby. (And good other stuff.)

He probably came to the conclusion because Hezbollah stopped the US-lead coup against them and instead gained more representation in the US-backed Lebanese government. They don't pose any danger to the United States, and if they somehow did, its only because we support Israel with money and guns- and their disgusting invasion of Lebanon in 2006.
