CSPAN callers blast Rep. Jeb Hensarling

It's not nice to be a Republican these days. Heather made up a mash up of callers that blasted Republican Jeb Hensarling from Texas <corrected> after he blames every problem this country faces on the Democratic Party.

Republicans want to kill everybody on Earth except babies. They don't need to ask our opinion, they're republicans, they can do anything they want to and when things go awry blame a DEM.

OMG LOL... "Is it going to come from the sky? If so, tell us where." So good.

HA!

HA!

Jeb Hensarling is not from South Carolina, is he?

When I think how many years the Republican hounded the Democrats and blamed all the evils of the world on them.

Jeez, Jeb, payback's a bitch ain't it?

And what IS it with this Repug and that ugly comb-over rug on his head? Looks like a dead beaver pelt.

OUCH!

My my my. Somebody got taken out behind the woodshed and got a good tanning on his behind. Looks like a few of our fellow consumers have gotten fed up with that label and have decided to return to being citizens. Good on them.

I'm surprised that plastic life-like toupée didn't fly off.

This is heartening. Perhaps enough people from both parties are waking up to reality. The only way things will change is if enough people truly understand what really is going on. I'm so unimpressed by many of our so called leaders. These aren't thinkers they are scoundrels. The sooner they are exposed the sooner we can rid ourselves of them.

I think people are just plain fed up with these leeches.

People waking up yet? I could only hope so because its gonna take a good 20+ years to clean this mess up.

Jeb, unfortunately, is from Texas - wish he was someone else's problem...

Mike @ 5:

And what IS it with this Repug and that ugly comb-over rug on his head? Looks like a dead beaver pelt.

Yup. Pretty close.

the republicans are in for a rude awakening this election. its funny how all i have been hearing on the news is how hillary supporters are going to jump ship and vote for mccain when the truth is about as far away from that as possible. i know quite a few republicans who are switching sides and voting for obama, and i know even more who aren't going to vote at all. its time to take out the trash, america. we have let it get piled high for too long.

Nice to see that at least some Republicans are finally -- finally!! -- starting to wake up and see the GOP spin for what it truly is. No, Republicans are not victims and Democracts are not villains. If the Democratic Party held a huge majority in one or both houses of Congress, then perhaps Hensarling's criticisms might have some (and only some) validity -- but it doesn't. The truth is that both parties have a roughly equal share of responsibility for the problems plaguing this nation.

Wow.

No, really. Excellent commentary, emotional yet detailed and in-depth. We need to hear more from Americans of all backgrounds, not the insane rantings of the loons the regular media want commentary from.

Very well done, C-Span. And thanks for the link.

Hahahahahahahahahaahhahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who said American's are clueless?

Can O' Whoopass @ 1:

Not babies; fetuses. Babies who were unfortunate enough to be born too close to our oil are expendable.

You can see where he puts his head at night!

Could it be that we have come to a point where you can't fool all of the people all of the time? No I doubt it.

Why doesn't anyone every mention that inflation also has a lot to do with high gas prices? What am I missing here? Why do we continue to let this unconstitutional Federal Reserve system do whatever the hell it wants with our money?

cold dead eyes, like a shark. i was somewhat expecting them to roll back in his head as he took a chomp outta the cspan lady.

sh-sh-shark!!!! (with a bad toupee)

One thing that always amazes me about the rightwingnuts is their robotic nature.
This fella's head barely moves from its frozen posture the entire time.
John Boehner and Gary Bauer blink, maybe twice in a minute.
Just like their politics they are frozen in time - 1862.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Best mash-up to wake up to!!!!! Thanks Heather. And thanks CSpan callers...

Repukes and Truth should never be used in the same sentence The Repukes have absolutely no idea what truth and honesty means.

Here's an incidental clue: If the full-grown man who seeks to represent you in Congress has a little boy's haircut, move on to the next candidate. Haircuts are an expression of a person's decision-making process. This guy has bad judgement.

And do something about that dead possum on your head.

God, I watched it twice. That lady from Chicago is awesome. I just want to hug her. "Where is this money going to come from? Is it going to fall from the sky?" Classic.

I don't think the American people are going to let these guys get away with demonizing democrats for all of America's problems anymore.

The chickens are coming home to roost.

Repugs just dont get it.

They break, break, break everything in their paths, then just blame, blame, blame every one else except THEM !

They think this tired old story will work forever...

NOT !

Maybe if people ONLY got their news from the MSM then maybe, but it's a different landscape now. Dont misunderestimate the blogosphere and the many other media outlets that now exist.

It's getting harder and harder for politicians to get away with blatant LIES. This can only be a good thing for this country.

We need 'Change we can believe in' but more importantly, we need a "Leader we can BELIEVE" !

Jeb Hensarling should have stayed at home the poor man. I almost felt sorry for him. Sniff...sniff!

mmmmm.... satisfying.....

wow, people that actually pay attention and have a brain to come to their own conclusions. The Republicans ran the car off the road while at the wheel and want to blame the backseat Democrats when they finally get behind the wheel after we are already in a ditch, well this is a fine mess you've gotten us into.... Republicans campaign theme is, "we can get you out of the ditch we got you into."

Hensarling and his sweet toupe are from Texas.

Worst case of Republican hair I have ever seen.
I'll be in SC next week so I will try to find out how cretins like him continue to get elected.

I'm glad you pointed out. Still, it's long past time that someone took C-SPAN to task for being a quasi-public access version of fox noise channel.

Day in, day out, it's an endless parade of washington times/weekly standard/nro/wsj-ed cites of lunatic-fringe columns by krauthammer, kagan and kristol punctuated with appearances by gop slime like Hensarling and whatever neocon nitwit du jour right outta central casting they get from the heritage/aei/hudson/hoover institute asses of evil.

Eighty percent of their callers are from the 21 percent of coalition of the clueless crackers that still buy bush's act and that's just WJ.

If Congress isn't in session, it's an endless loop of Heritage Foundation Symposiums where the lunatic-fringe likes of brain-dead fred barnes, podhoretz, goldberg, kristol and kagan take turns making factually-challenged presentations to each other that they find to be compelling.

It's a complete disgrace. Today they had that nitwit Peter Schweizer on hawking some book he's written called "makers and takers - why conservatives work harder than liberals."

Fridays are the absolute worst. If it's Friday, it's Fascist.

lollers

That was the most life-like robot I've ever seen. It's a wondrous modern age we live in.

I think Harry Whittington said it best when he said "OUCH!!!"

You heard it it hear first. Republicans and fiscal responsibility looks like CASH from the SKY!

LMAO!

Seems to me the problems of this country boil down to this: economic meltdown due to 28 years of Republican fiscal policies and backlash tribalism as a result of Republican reaction to civil rights initiatives in the sixties. Perhaps also the rabid militarism caused by the reaction of Republicans to the dirty fucking hippies. Now please tell me what problems have been caused by Democrats, aside from those that collaborate with Republicans.

pinot drnkr @ 33:

Worst case of Republican hair I have ever seen.
Looks like a really cheap rug! He must go to the same carpet store as Trent Lott.

The chickens are coming home to roost.

I watched the Journal this morning and it was like return of the right wing cranks as if we hadn't just lived through nearly 6 years of hell (devastated economy, endless war, ballooning budget) under republican rule. Following this jackass was Peter Schweitzer telling us how selfish, uncaring, and greedy LIBERALS are. WTF?!?!?! Did I fall through the looking glass in my sleep last night?

hey Republicans . . . the country is on to you now. Don't let the door hit you in the ass as we shove you out it.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but this guy sounds like he needs to exit the closet soon.

That last caller who was a Republican pretty much summed it up.

"We have 300 million people in this country and the best candidate Republicans came up with was John McCain ??"

Who was it that said ... OUCH babe !! ?

njprogressive @ 13:

Absolutely! The Hillary supporters I know (quite a few) are unhappy but of course they will vote Obama. And I have none of my republican friends are going to vote Republican. So let the MSM sing it's song because the Repugs are too dumb to do anything except think that the MSM is how people in this country think. The party is over Rethugs. Your party is doomed.

This needs to be sent to SNL as is. The only thing that could make it funnier would be if they brought back Martin Short to play that cigarette smoking, sweaty faced sleazy guy, you know, the one who responded to embarrassing and incriminating facts by saying "I knew that."

(To give this Repubican his due, we don't get to see the way in which he responds to the callers insights and accusations. Maybe he is really a charismatic speaker who just looks dumber than a horse turd when he's listening!)

"George Bush makes Bill Clinton look like a physical conservative!"

Even when they have the right idea, people who vote republican, can't control their stupidity

It's a bird it's a plane no it's Jeb Hensarling's toupee! I suspect not too many repubs will be on that show any time soon. Ha Ha!

The best thing about this video is the fact that some of the callers identified themselves as lifelong republicans, and still wanted to kick his A**
Not all americans are brain stems like the repugs believe!

Beaver needs a new hair piece.

Good job, Republicans. This morning, here are the headlines.

Remarks by Israel's transport minister that an attack on Iranian nuclear sites looked "unavoidable" and a Morgan Stanley report predicting oil could reach a record high of $150 by July 4, also sent crude prices roaring upwards.

The dollar fell further after figures showing the U.S. economy lost jobs for the a fifth straight month and the unemployment rate shot up to its highest in more than three years.

What is happening could not be more obvious.
The Fed is lending money to the banks to keep them from going under because of their mortgage ponzi scheme collapse.
Instead of uing that capital to help people restructure their debt, they are using it to invest in the commoddities markets, driving up prices.
Then Israel says an attack on Iran is unavoidable, and poof, all the money they lost in the mortgage market is made back in the commoddities market.
The rich keep their wealth, everyone else pays for it.

you can't argue with that hair.

This should be watched by every American. It gives insight to how truly fucked things are in your country I'm so sorry.

Although the Dems, for a large part, have been standing around like an idiot bystander - It's the repugs who have shredded the Bill of Rights, revoked Habeas Corpus, and murdered over a million Iraqis. It is Repugs who have exempted billionaires from their share of taxation and enriched Halliburton and others from the public treasury. Mortgage crisis? Phil Gramm, Republican. Torture? Republicans! There have been Dem collaborationists, I'll grant you, but it is the Repugnicans who took out a contract on America, lied us into a slaughter and seek to eliminate the middle class and victimize the poor. It is Republicans who have lowered our standing in the world. And it is Republicans who have bankrupted what was once the world's remaining superpower - to think of so many opportunities we could have exploited to benign ends - gone forever now...
It just plain warms my heart to see evil tools like Hensarling get a small taste of what they deserve!

Why are Repugs politicians still wearing the same hairstyle as they did in 1958? I could swear fashion has changed since then. They all look like they use Brylcream and comb their hair with a 5 cent plastic comb. Do they use Hai Karate too?

Seems the legacy of Strom Thurman will never die while these knuckle draggers are still around. They could at least have the decency to leave the Klan Meeting talk at the meeting and not bring it into the public domain.

But just like chimpy, they won't be happy until we are all dead from the "rapture" or the 17th century comes back.... scary...

Wow...just wow.

That was unpainful. But not undeserved.

I can't wait till Congress goes on summer vacation and they catch an earful from their constituents. They're gonna have to put the GOP representatives on suicide watch.

Brutal. Well deserved, but brutal.

Thats Clearly a wig.

Who is this detarted hack? 18 months of Dems and the voters are tired of the same old politics? And McCain is going to do something to save the next generation?

Does this guy know how to read? WTF? Watch the whole thing on Cspan's website and see this guy spiral into Bill-O style BS spin. "people don't expect Democrats to be fiscally responsible but they do expect that of Republicans"? I'm sorry but it's time for this guy to take a long, and I mean long hard look in the mirror!!

This isn't even laughable it's disturbing.

Nice rug, Jeb.

Tim @ 20:

Because people think it's too "crazy" to head back to the gold standard. Not enough people woke up on that one. Personally, I think it's crazy to let a select few elites control the economy in place of actual valuable tender-- but hey, what do I know? (Besides a lot more than your average American)

The Republicans should just start calling themselves the Decepticons. I mean, look at this robot in disguise.

It looks like a large black cat curled up on the guy's head. Hilarious.

a certain segment of the dems are more than 'idiot bystanders', all the dems (like clinton) that bought into the market populism of the 'new economy' and pushed for the economic and foreign policy initiatives that have left us drowning are just as guilty as the GOP for the trouble the US is in.

there are some truly great dems out there, and it is too bad a certain segment of the centrist/market fundy dems are giving them a bad name.

Hopefully, they can be relegated to the permanent and impotent minority status they justifiably had for decades.

At first I felt sorry for him but his smugness took that sympathy away.

Why is this guy taking all this tongue lashing so blandly? Simple. Its like chastising the fox AFTER its raided the hen house. He's fat and happy and had his turn at the public trough, so why should he care what people think of him afterwards.

Oil and defense industry profits are through the roof, so the Republicans accomplished what they were sent there for, they were smart enough to pull it off, and they're smart enough to know it wouldn't last forever (well, most of them). Some of them got caught with their pants down, literally, but most of them will leave their offices with big smirks on their faces as they check into their 6 figure K-street jobs, and bide their time. When the current reform cycle is over, after we've had 4-8 years of progressive rule, they'll come out as the "new" guys and pull the same shit all over again.

We know now that we can't trust the MSM, particularly the Washington DC press flunkies, to remember the score, since they've proven they'll trade their integrity for access in a heartbeat. So we'll just have to remember ourselves, and keep having days like the Friedman Suck on This Day, and Whittington Peppered Pretty Well Day, and Mission Accomplished Day here on C&L.

Maybe the majority of elected Republicans suffer from a secondary mental disorder that we can name Eddie Haskell Disease, or EHD. Other symptoms include using exclamations like "Lookit!" and phrases like "You want I should...?" when called out on their chicanery.

It was refreshing to hear some commonfolk republicans speaking against the party line and seeing through the bullshit. The koolaid drinkers can't vary from the party line since them they would have to admit that they have been lying all along. Boy, are they going to be in for a surprise in November. They are desperate, and repeating the old and worn talking points ain't going to work.

When you long term republicans blaiming the party for the state of affairs, they are in deep shit. McBush is wasting his time, and I am the only one who can see the desperation in his eyes?

Yeah, lets just forget that we have had a Republican in the WH, a Republican Congress majority, and conservative appointees for most of the last 8 years.

Ron Paul was going to do away with the "Fed". Jeez' I wonder why he never got any air time on his policies?????
Anyone? Beuler? Beuler?

For the last 25 years, the Republican playbook has always been:
1) blame the Democrats
2) divert attention from real issues with moral outrage at trumped up scandals.

In 2000, political "genius" Karl Rove resurfaced and took them to new heights (or lows, depending on your point of view) by adding:

3) use multiple wedge issues to co-opt various geographic and socio-economic sub-groups and
4) use the Christian Right when expedient.

Republicans, for the most part, are "inside the box," herd-mentality thinkers. This made them extremely effective (when in the majority) in terms of voting in the Bush agenda. This is also what will doom them in the next few years to loss after loss in political races across the country, until another Rove comes along or American's memory of Iraq and Bush mellow and diminish with age and spin.

For the moment, though, being inside the box thinkers, they will continue to cling to the basic playbook because coming up with new, fresh ideas that address political and social problems in a realistic and equitible fashion is distasteful. And difficult.
