George Bush Breaks a New Record
By SilentPatriot Wednesday Jun 25, 2008 12:50pm
...previously held by himself.
The survey found public approval of the president's job performance at a new low for a Times/Bloomberg poll: 23%, compared with 73% disapproval.
Heckuva job, Bushie.

A large portion of Americans have been disaproving of Bush for about 7.5 years now. But that seems to matter little because he still gets everything he wants and then some.
there's something strange going on around here
and what it is, aint exactly clear.
Who are those 23% people?!! oh, FRIST
And the Congressional approval rating is 18.5 approve and 73.5 disapprove
life sucks
mccaskill voted for the capitulation, obama didn't even vote and only 15 patriots in the senate
Oh wait, I think it's Pelosi and her table.
How long will it take to reach 5%? Looks like even the hardcore are finally seeing the light of day on this perpetual loser.
...and yet he remains an 'effective' president. The Congress gives him everything he wants. Go figure?
And the numbskulls on the right will remind you, "but, but, but, Congress' approval rating is even lower!!!!"
I was hoping the announcement would be that he is going to vacation at his Crawford ranch for the rest of his term, thus breaking the first record he set which was most vacation days taken by a president.
John @ 3:
The reason Congressional ratings are so low (at least among those in my "tribe") is because they REFUSE to consider and persue impeachment of Bush/Cheney.
I think the pathetic and myopic 23% should wear scarlet 'W's so we can identify and avoid them.
enor @ 7:
Hurts to know that this is true.
this guy is so sure that history will vindicate him. Well, he needs to really mull this over. He's a leader, the worst ever leader. 23 percent, I believe that is the lowest ever. that's how he will go down in history in addition to having the crookedest administration ever. His goal was to ruin this country and perhaps that is the one thing he has succeeded in doing. Middle America, you wanted him, you believed in him, now you and we all have to live with what he has wrought.
Stew Mulligan @ 10:
We're harder on Congress because we actually expected them to do the job. Now Bush, on the other hand....
John @ 3:
The latest AP-Ipsos has the Congress at 23% approval rating.
Those 23% have to be in asylums.
The survey found public approval of President Bush’s job performance at a new low for the Times/Bloomberg Poll: only 23% approved of the job Bush is doing, and 73% disapproved.
A bare majority of 51% of voters said they have a “positive feeling” about the Democratic Party; only 29% said they have a positive feeling about the Republican Party.
Reich-wingers = pathetic
John @ 3:
So Republicans should have no problem taking control of Congress come November right?
The reason congress's numbers are so low is hardly anyone is a fan of congress. Ever see a bumper sticker that says "I love Congress". Whereas there are still a few numbskull's out there who still support Bush.
23%? Still way too high. Those 23% are a telemarketers wet dream.
I think a war with Iran can get a single digit approve rating. Whaddya say chimpy?
Coincidence?
"Dow drubbing: Sinks to 21-month low
The blue-chip index tumbled as much as 241 points as selling accelerated"
Wasn't happy just running an oil company into the ground ... how bout a whole country?
Chuck U @ 18:
Reich-wingers are obstructionists
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is planning to bring forward a “Coburn Omnibus” in July that would “wrap most if not all of the bills held by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) into one large measure to be voted on by the Senate.” Coburn is blocking roughly 100 bills, including ones that fund breast cancer research and screen soldiers for signs of suicide risk. Most recently, Coburn placed a hold on an HIV/AIDS prevention bill, although Senate negotiators have reportedly reached a “tentative” agreement to move forward on that legislation.
Truthseeker @ 8:
Wait, LOOK!!!!, ANWR isn't being drilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
23%, nearly 1 in 4, is astoundingly high. 5% I could understand.
As Dick Cheney would say, "So?"
Who gives a fuck if Bush is at 23%? What does that change, exactly? The Bushies are getting a huge double win on FISA and handgun rights, the war continues, the wealthiest still have their tax breaks, the Justice Dept is still politicized, science is still being suppressed, Congress is still totally fucking complicit and ineffective, checks and balances are still broken, the federal debt continues to compound, the US dollar is still going down, the mortgage crisis worsens by the day . . .
23% approval? "So?"
George Carlin was right. They got you by the balls.
So when are people going to realize that neither Obama nor McCain will do ANYTHING to fix things. They're on the same corporate payroll the rest of congress is on.
President Shit between the ears doing the mombo with his approval rating! Go! Georgie. Go!
#13 no longer a proud american Says
Middle America, you wanted him, you believed in him, now you and we all have to live with what he has wrought.
Why are you blaming Middle America? Let's put the blame where it belongs. SCOTUS.
Stew Mulligan @ 10:
That's it. Unlike republicans, Democrats hold their party accountable. Country before party.
Bush thinks history will vindicate him. Nice not to have to deal in reality like the rest of us do. He has the awareness of the head of a 10 penny nail.
" Sen.
Coburn is an ass. If he can't have any other impact on the world, at least he can block traffic.
displaced @ 26:
So there's no difference hey? Just as there was no difference in 200.
Amazing stuff.
This President gets everything he wants yet the American people don't want him too.
Lara Logan was banging half of Iraq and she got her contracted extended today.
We live in interesting times.
George joins John McCain in the Hall of Ignominy, as McCain is the Most Absentee Senator, exceeding even Democratic Senator Tim Johnson from North Dakota, who was out with a life-threatening brain tumor.
Yer a real record setter there George....23%....WOW!!! Scaling the depths of... dishonor dude.. Yer actually making Nixons numbers start to look good by comparision.. There ya go, another legacy for ya Chimpy... Here's the biggie though....
'Worst President ever!'.... Start saying it to yourself numbnuts, get used to it, get reeeaaal comfortable with the idea... It's what's for dinner... for you,... from now on..... ASSHOLE!!! JD
John @ 3:
Republicans are driving the approval rating for Congress down.
Thats why the Democrats are three for three in special elections in Republican districts.
John @ 3:
Israel accounts for that 18.5% approval. And its frauenfuhrer Nancy Pelosi.
What's it matter? It's not as if Democrats are actually going to stand up to him, despite his extreme unpopularity. Bush has got to be the only President that I know who's ratings and poll numbers are give new meaning to the phrase 'bottoming out,' yet he governs as if they weren't.
And if that weren't strange enough, the Democrats feed into his illusions by acting as if he were somehow stronger that he actually is.
I don't quite understand. If I had an enemy, and that enemy were somehow diminished, it seems somehow logical that you would choose that moment to attack (especially if you were aware of that weakness).
And I know that that Senate, and to a lesser extent the Congress, are essentially good-ole-boys networks, yet that doesn't quite explain this behavior on the part of Democrats.
Most of America knows President Bush is a few cans short of a six-pack, so why is it that Democrats for the most part just don't get that it's feeding frenzy time. There's blood in the water and the time for waiting on the sidelines is over.
Plus, I get the creeping feeling that the minute a Democratic president even thinks of doing something like Bush is doing, we're going to not only hear about impeachment, but it's going to happen.
Which would be the right thing to do, though I would ask why is it right for Clinton (who's, let's be honest, misadventures in office pale in comparison to Bush's) yet Democrats generally will not entertain the idea for Bush.
liberAL @ 28:
Here we go again...a lot of people in Middle America DID vote for his sack of shit. This is a buyer beware story, don't just blame the courts.
It's frightening to think that so many approve of this 1/2 witt.
Stew Mulligan @ 10:
AND they give him everything he wants!
How about no more donations to Congressional Dems until they show some spine!
How can a person with such a high disapproval rating be able to get congress to roll over and play dead whenever he feels llike it?
My sister and my old neighbor back in Tucson voted for bush, whenever i bring up that they voted for him ........... chirp chirp chirp ..............
Keith @ 24:
Indeed, that was the shock to me ......... who are these mindless drones and how can they be helped !!
What earthly difference does it make? Bush doesn't give a rat's patoot about polls, popularity, approval, or the Constitution. As long as Congress keeps rolling over for this idiot, he will keep dragging America further down the toilet. And then...escape to the Paraguay Ranch.
John W @ 42:
Because he is the rag doll puppet taking the heat, too stupid to care to evil to want to change.
It's the group that has been running the US for a while that is making people roll over, the US was warned about it by one of their own presidents, and they didn't listen.
The M.I. Complex 1 - US population 0.
Where will bush get the money for his Presuhdenshul Lie-berry?
(they need to protect that book)
displaced @ 26:
I agree.
I am surprised it's that high actually...I was thinkin more like 19-20% tops...
So what exactly is "middle America" ?
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/countymap3070large.png
this war on terror and perpetual fear mongering/politicizing by NEOCONS......changed everything dems. damned if you do and damned if you don't........they have been three steps ahead of dems. on every move.....the NEOCONS stacked the system...it's going to take yrs. to repair.they went extreme to get where we are at "mushroom cloud" "yellow cake"...the country is just now centered but refuses to go left because ongoing fearpropaganda ie.israel/iran this has been in the making i believe in the globaleconomy scheme.

VietVet8666 @ 48:
VV, you trying to get me to stay over here forever?
Hahaha, Bush a cool cowboy :)
My husband heard a program on NPR - last year or the year before - unrelated to politics - in which a psychiatrist said one in five people in the US were sociopaths. Looking at these statistics it is hard not to remember that.
*
Well Osama bin Laden still loves him & always will.
Turd Blossom's legacy.
The real news: That's down 11% from a poll done three months ago by the same people.
And LATimes/Bloomberg is historically the high end outlier. (See pollster.com for excellent charts.)
He may not need a war in Iran to hit single digits at this rate.
Jim @ 58:
And still not face impeachment or any retribution for any and all crimes ........
They probably found that 23% while they were visiting that Creation Museum in Kentucky.
Is it too late for his grandma....I'm mean his mom Barbara and dad George to have an abortion? Just asking.....
for all of us who haven't stormed the white house with pitch forks and torches (all of us) we certainly need to question our dignity and self-respect.
Funny but the democrats in congress just whined when they were the minority that they couldn't do anything. Now that they're the majority all they do is whine as the minority rolls over them. I'm done with this party.

Don't let's leave the Supreme Court out -- They Suck too.

Don't forget the sorry baseball team.
Gov. Bush doesn't care, or the 23% Zombies. But history will catch up with him. Good start is to name the sewage treatment plant in his honor.
Trittydi @ 55:

purge_not_surge @ 2:

Stew Mulligan @ 10:
AGREE!
My I say that I mourn deeply the loss of my country. The USA I knew growing up is no longer. The USA I served for 20 years in the USAF (during Vietnam) is gone. I hereby declare myself a CARLINITE. From now on I intend to sit by and watch and laugh heartily as a once great nation dies a slow and agonizing death. One can only wonder how our country may have turned out had Dumbya not been givin the reigns.
My idol George Carlin was right all along.

My local newspaper will not report on Mexican Army invading this country and now is assinating political opponents in there home. Phoenix it is happening now.
68 Trittydi Says: purge_not_surge @ 2:
Who are those 23% people?!!
Al Molina
Al Bundy
& Al Qaeda.
Death Star @ 79:
Is that another word for buggery?
ysbaddaden @ 81:
Somebody's off his meds, I think.
Left&Left @ 27:
Isn't that the "limbo"?
In reality this means that Bush's true approval rating is near to zero since at least 15% of the people would support a chimp in a suit if they called him the president of the United States!
there are people getting very rich off this clown
Isn't that about 22% too high?
My guess is that the 23% are probably major stockholders of major corporations. The capital-holding members of the country have had a ball the last 7.5 years. I'm not talking IRA holders but major family money in stock.
Death Star @ 79:
Um...the what what?
You MUST be joking! I could MAYBE believe some drug lord sending assassins to kill a snitch across the border...but the Mexican military?!?!?! Come on!
