Bill O’Reilly says it’s all Liberal policies that have destroyed America’s economy

BillO must have missed the last eight years of BushCo because he says that all our economic problems are the fault of the dirty f*&king hippies. You see, O’Reilly asks: Is America a nation in decline? As if that’s a legitimate question. You know the answer he’s going to give. In his mind the media wants Obama elected and while most Americans aren’t liberals they want a president that will look out for them. The gap in wealth throughout the land is due to liberal policies that have led to the collapse of our education system. You see it’s all the kids fault since they can’t read or write well enough to compete in the work place so Obama will set up a huge Welfare state that takes his money and give sit to us. Why, it’s all so simple. Oh wait, when did they actually try to get a job?

It’s the media that says the nation is in decline and not the folks. Heck, I see them going on a record number of vacations, all the retail outlets are doing better than ever and SUV’s are selling like hot cakes. Aren’t they? Heck, Bush has only been in power since 2000 when Americans were doing pretty damn good and we weren’t in a needless war, but who cares. Hey Bill, when was there Islamic fascism in Iraq? He says the military defeated it. Saddam was a secularist and I think we’ve been fighting an insurgency made up of many factions, but initially they largely consisted of Saddam’s military that got kicked to the curb by Paul Bremmer. And yes, he brings up his favorite country of all—FRANCE. Who needs facts when you have The Factor.

As Logan wrote a few days ago in response to Lieberman on CBS:

I wonder if Joe read the GAO report released last month (PDF) that states that the surge isn’t going as well as he says it is? A little truthiness goes a long way with the uniformed American, and Joe has shown amazing talent in that area. SOME of the surge troops will be coming home this summer, but President Bush put a freeze on further troop withdrawals. This freeze is supposed to be temporary, but it’s not likely to be lifted before the November election. As for Iraqi reconciliation:

Has the Iraqi government followed through on its promises? Well, the GAO reports that while some legislation has been passed to restore Ba’ath Party members to government (although many have questioned the legitimacy of these efforts), give amnesty to some detainees and define provincial powers, on many of the larger, stickier issues, no progress has been made. The report notes that the Iraqi government has not enacted “important legislation for sharing oil resources or holding provincial elections” and that “[e]fforts to complete constitutional review have also stalled.” Read on…

anyone, ANYONE, who could make such a dishonest, inaccurate and deceitful claim proves to the world that they know NOTHING of which they speak.

but, this is billo, so we already knew that.

what is most infuriating is that this lie is the inverse of the truth: it is the fiscal “conservative” policies that have detroyed the economy. the economic ideology latched onto like a swollen teet by both parties for the past 3 decades.

this reichwing tactic is, sadly, very effective though. doesn’t speak well for a large swath of americans, who eat this up like chocolate pudding.

Oil companies have had 6 1/2 years of republican lock on Washington to ask for permission to drill if that’s our current answer.

    Why didn’t they?

The housing and loan crisises were the result of LACK of regulation, something republcans favor.

All those tax breaks for the wealthy didn’t trickle down like some bathroom version of the economy, but went with our jobs outside our borders.

This constant warfare has eviscerated what was left of our economic health.

Even boosh when he tried to put a positive spin on the sour economy would tout the numbers of new home owners to put a smiley face on it, until the bubble burst and covered us all in puss.

Iraq: No Withdrawal Timetable, No Deal
Dates For U.S. Forces To Leave Necessary Before Security Accord Can Be Inked, Official Says

    BAGHDAD, July 8, 2008

(CBS/ AP) Iraq’s national security adviser said Tuesday his country will not accept any security deal with the United States unless it contains specific dates for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces.

The comments by Mouwaffak al-Rubaie were the strongest yet by an Iraqi official about the deal now under negotiation with U.S. officials. It came a day after Iraq’s prime minister first said publicly that he expects the pending troop deal with the United States to have some type of timetable for withdrawal.

U.S. President George W. Bush has said he opposes a timetable. The White House said Monday it did not believe al-Maliki was proposing a rigid timeline for U.S. troop withdrawals.

U.S. officials had no immediate comment Tuesday on al-Rubaie’s words.

Al-Rubaie spoke to reporters after briefing Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in Najaf on the progress of the government’s security efforts, and the talks.

“Our stance in the negotiations underway with the American side will be strong … We will not accept any memorandum of understanding that doesn’t have specific dates to withdraw foreign forces from Iraq,” al-Rubaie sid.

Some type of agreement between the United States and Iraq is needed to keep U.S. troops in Iraq after a U.N. mandate expires at year’s end.

U.S. officials have said little publicly about the negotiations. Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, did not comment directly on the specifics when asked about it on a trip to Baghdad.

“We’d all like to see U.S. troops get out of here at some point in time,” Mullen said. “However, from a military perspective I need the laws and the

Because of this impact (which supposedly freed up patent regulations according to this person) is the reason why America was in decline.

Why not press congress to enact some draconian, beat Bush Co. at their own game, legislation and disallow any foreign owned or controlled media outlets.
Then offer a value to owner, non negotioable, and then put each outlet up for public bid to the highest bidder?

That would fuk Murdoch and perhaps put chunx of his Empire in less malevolent hands….. This sounds like a good idea, but it’s not. Far to many people have been ignoring what has been going on in this country. They don’t spend anytime educating themselves about things. This kind of attitude plays right into the hands of Republicans. They want fewer informed people, they want less education, they want fewer voters. Ignoring it is exactly why people like Bill O’ get away with their garbage for so long. They preach to a choir that’s just big enough to keep Republicans relevant. If more people spent a little more time participating in this country rather than just living in it, Bill O’ and his ilk wouldn’t stand a chance.

The oil companies DIDN’T want additional drilling during that period.

More oil would mean lower prices. They’re trying to manipulate the supply so they earn more for less.

So you can’t blame Democrats who’ve been in Congress only about a year-and-a-half.

Additionally, I think it odd, that we’re having all these high prices right at the end of the perceived republican lock on Washington.

When even conservatives and churches are agreeing that global climate change is for real (although some may argue that there’s little we can do about it.)
