Karl Rove Fled The Country To Avoid Congressional Hearings

Perhaps Turdblossom got a little nervous that Democrats might actually locate their spines and charge him with inherent contempt and have him arrested? Video and more from Alternet:

Karl Rove was scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary Committee yesterday. He didn’t show. Not only that, the Committee was told that Rove had left the country on a “long scheduled” trip.

In this video clip, Rep. Linda Sanchez explains that Rove never told them about any trip.

I have just thought of the perfect use for Blackwater troops. Hunting down Karl Rove and Halliburton executives to be brought back and tried in court.

and we might as well grab that pedophile Roman Polanski while we’re at it.

and if they happen to just come back in multiple pieces.. oh well.

Why do the Republican ass lickers continue to cover for these criminals. Is it not obvious to everyone they are liars. Why not clear the air and not cover for them. I sit in awe at their complicity with these law breakers.

I’ll give that asshole this…he’s got balls.

How someone can just get away with taking a dump on the Law like this….

Montezuma had the right idea on how to deal with his kind of person.

There is not a single Main Stream News organization with the balls to cover this story. The story is alive only on Liberal and Progressive Blogs and publications.

I think Karl Rove sent them an E-mail that he was leaving the country? But if you haven’t heard they are still having problems with E-mail.

The phrase “Testifying is Painless” was found scrawled on the hood of Turd Blossoms car left at the airport.

Maybe ball-less miss nancy could practice a little extraordinary rendition of it’s own. Nobody in this country has to follow any laws, right miss nancy, so why don’t you do some lawbreaking yourself? Just pick up Karl and disappear him until the next hearing. And may-be pick up harriet and josh for good measure.

Who is this “Mr. Cannon” who keeps repeating the same phrase– “long-planned trip” –as if by repeating it the rest of the people will finally say, “Oh, okay”? –MaryK

dadams Says:

what did you expect?

well, let him leave and bush and cheney and cundi when this
administration is over. just makes it easier for them to be
relocated to the haigh for their war crimes by extraordinary
rendition, which by the way they deserve.

should have taken rove’s fucking passport away along time ago.

WASHINGTON - Karl Rove had never been so agreeable.
The former chief strategist to President Bush was the only witness listed on the agenda for Thursday’s meeting of the House Judiciary Committee, and he proved to be uncharacteristically contained.
Rep. Linda Sanchez, chairman of the subcommittee holding the hearing, declared herself ”extremely disappointed and deeply concerned” about Rove’s behavior.
Rove was silent.
Sanchez spoke of his ”role in the alleged politicization of the Justice Department” and his hand in ”the unprecedented firing of nine U.S. attorneys in 2006.”
Rove offered no defense.
”If such allegations were true,” said Rep. Chris Cannon, Utah, the ranking Republican on the panel, ”they would be very serious.”
Rove did not dispute this.
There was good reason for The Architect’s quiet: He was out of the country. He had no intention of appearing before Congress, and he had sent the panel the equivalent of a doctor’s note - from no less a medical authority than White House counsel Fred Fielding - saying he did not have to respond to the congressional subpoena.

You don’t say. “The Architect” flees the country. No how can this be?

And now a Preview of a Post-Bushes Brain World

As the weather gets hotter, the nation starts to sweat, even as the consequences of Bushonomics have become more telling. Last week, for example, there were news reports of Christian prayer groups, praying for lower gas prices at gas stations. Hookers are hooking for gas cards, offering defined services for $25 or $50 gas cards. A nationwide gasoline retailer has been reported offering $5 off coupons on Zoloft, if you buy 10 gallons of gas, a new form of cross marketing under Bushonomics. There has also been a push in Congress by the Big Pharmaceutical companies to turn a variety of prescription anti-depressant drugs into over the counter drugs because demand for them has soared so much. The pharmaceutical industry is right because it would bring the price down. It should be remembered that this regime has purposely kept prices of antidepressants cheap anyway. Of course, Bushonian Regimes understand the consequences of Bushonomics to the Joe Six Packers, and they try to make it easier on them, albeit in small ways.

If anything is going to happen to the Bush mafiosi it will not be at the behest this toothless Congress.

Inherent contempt indeed.

My contempt for them is growing daily, inherently.

The only hope is some law observing foreign land gives Rove a Pinochet moment.

I do not believe that could be the reason.
I do not.
Until the Seargent-At-Arms actually holds an order to arrest Rove, this is just so much fluff.
