Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on,
put your lights on
Hey now all you lovers
Put your lights on,
put your lights on
Hey now, all you killers
Put your lights on,
put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on,
you better leave you lights on
'Cause there's a monster,
living under my bed,
whispering in my ear
And there's an angel,
with a hand on my head
She say I got nothing to fear
There's a darkness,
living deep in my soul
I still got a purpose to serve
So let your lights shine,
deep into my home
God don't let me lose my nerve,
don't let me lose my nerve
Hey now, hey now,
hey now, hey now
Wo-oh hey now
Hey now, hey now,
hey now, hey now
Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on,
put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on,
you better leave your lights on
'Cause there's a monster,
living under my bed,
whispering in my ear
And there's an angel,
with a hand on my head
She say I got nothing to fear
She says, la elaha ela allah,
we all shine like a star
la elaha ela allah,
we all shine like a star
Never fade away
Santana can play a lot of notes on his guitar, but none of them good. And as for duets, his attempt to make music with the guy from Matchbox 20 proves that he's never had good taste. Sure, he played Woodstock, but only because Hendrix, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Albert Collins, the Dead, and many many others had paved the way for his lousy retreat brand of holding one bluesy note aloft before playing a quick blues scale and then holding a second bluesy note aloft. His one "innovation," using Latin-based rhythms with rock and roll lead guitar, had actually been broached by far better bands long before he came on the scene, including everybody from Ritchie Valens to Os Mutantes to Los Saicos. He was terrible then, sucks far worse now, and only has a career because he sounded kind of good to young stoners in the seventies who still wax nostalgic about him.
Orangehairboy @ #17 is envious that Carlito has critical acclaim from Jazz greats like Miles Davis,Wynton Marsalis , Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock. ( Carlos' jazz album "Swing of Delight" )as well as blues greats like Clapton & John Lee Hooker . Orangiepoo is "waxing nostalgic" for Menudo !
Remember Sparky, "Within Simplicity lies the Sublime"
It's all about THE NOTE !! Not about alot of FAST meaningless notes.
Just because Al DeMiola & Malmsteen are masters at speed doesn't make him soulful!!
Miles Davis said something like that.
Oh yeah, David Gilmour & Clapton are other "SLOW" benders that are great guitarists; NOT FAST, but still great.
It's not about testosterone and thrashing, it's about soulful feeling.
Peter Green is the same. So is Snowy White. Shit, I could go on & on.....
No one makes a guitar sing like Carlos Santana. This whole album(cd) is incredible. I like all of his work. Every single recording he has ever released.
I wonder what he's working on now? I guess this was released in 07

Thank you, Mr. Professional Music Critic! Without you we would never be able to understand why "Metal Machine Music" is superior to "Dark Side Of the Moon". Please never give up in your heroic quest to be the "radest" rocker in the room! To paraphrase Monty Python, what the world needs is more music critics!
this is my fav out of his "duets" to save his career record...i do have some respect for carlos but his insentient noodling on that thing gives me a large rash at times....i love Everlast on this...you could easily mute santana and probably would be a better song..."we all shine like a star
la elaha ela allah, we all shine like a star" great line...

Actually, the best songs on SUPERNATURAL cd are the ones WITHOUT guests.
ie; DaLeo , Migra, Day of Celebration,Africa Bamba...and the best solo exposition is on PRIMAVERA !! at # 11 on the cd.
yeah,yeah....the pop guests thingy helped sell records but the jewels are the guestLESS songs!
