The contrast between the Clinton legacy and the Bush/McCain legacy is just devastating:

People the world over have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power.

Look at the example the Republicans have set.

In this decade, American workers have consistently given us rising productivity. That means, year after year, they work harder and produce more.

Now, what did they get in return? Declining wages, less than one-fourth as many new jobs as in the previous eight years, smaller health care and pension benefits, rising poverty, and the biggest increase in income inequality since the 1920s. American families by the millions are struggling with soaring health care costs and declining coverage.

CLINTON: Thank you. Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen...

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. You all sit down. We've got to get on with the show here. Come on.

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to be here tonight.

(APPLAUSE)

Sit down.

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you. Thank you very much.

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

I am honored to be here tonight. Please, stop.

AUDIENCE: Bill! Bill! Bill!

CLINTON: Please stop. Sit down. Sit down. Thank you.

AUDIENCE: Bill! Bill! Bill!

CLINTON: Please sit. Please sit.

You know, I -- I love this, and I thank you, but we have important work to do tonight. I am here first to support Barack Obama.

(APPLAUSE)

And, second -- and, second, I'm here to warm up the crowd for Joe Biden...

(APPLAUSE)

... though, as you will soon see, he doesn't need any help from me.

(LAUGHTER)

I love Joe Biden, and America will, too.

What a year we Democrats have had. The primary began with an all-star line up. And it came down to two remarkable Americans locked in a hard-fought contest right to the very end. That campaign generated so much heat, it increased global warming.

(LAUGHTER)

Now, in the end, my candidate didn't win. But I'm really proud of the campaign she ran.

(APPLAUSE)

I am proud that she never quit on the people she stood up for, on the changes she pushed for, on the future she wanted for all our children. And I'm grateful for the chance Chelsea and I had to go all over America to tell people about the person we know and love.

Now, I am not so grateful for the chance to speak in the wake of Hillary's magnificent speech last night.

(LAUGHTER)

But I'll do the best I can.

(APPLAUSE)

Last night, Hillary told us in no uncertain terms that she is going to do everything she can to elect Barack Obama.

(APPLAUSE)

That makes two of us.

(APPLAUSE)

Actually, that makes 18 million of us...

(APPLAUSE)

... because, like Hillary, I want all of you who supported her to vote for Barack Obama in November.

(APPLAUSE)

And here's why. And I have the privilege of speaking here, thanks to you, from a perspective that no other American Democrat, except President Carter, can offer.

Our -- our nation is in trouble on two fronts. The American dream is under siege at home, and America's leadership in the world has been weakened. Middle-class and low-income Americans are hurting, with incomes declining, job losses, poverty, and inequality rising, mortgage foreclosures and credit card debt increasing, health care coverage disappearing, and a very big spike in the cost of food, utilities, and gasoline.

And our position in the world has been weakened by too much unilateralism and too little cooperation...

(APPLAUSE)

... by a perilous dependence on imported oil, by a refusal to lead on global warming, by a growing indebtedness and a dependence on foreign lenders, by a severely burdened military, by a backsliding on global nonproliferation and arms control agreements, and by a failure to consistently use the power of diplomacy, from the Middle East to Africa to Latin America to Central and Eastern Europe.

(APPLAUSE)

Clearly, the job of the next president is to rebuild the American dream and to restore American leadership in the world.

(APPLAUSE)

And here's what I have to say about that. Everything I learned in my eight years as president, and in the work I have done since in America and across the globe, has convinced me that Barack Obama is the man for this job.

(APPLAUSE)

Now, he has a remarkable ability to inspire people, to raise our hopes and rally us to high purpose. He has the intelligence and curiosity every successful president needs. His policies on the economy, on taxes, on health care, on energy are far superior to the Republican alternatives.

(APPLAUSE)

He has shown -- he has shown a clear grasp of foreign policy and national security challenges and a firm commitment to rebuild our badly strained military.

His family heritage and his life experiences have given him a unique capacity to lead our increasingly diverse nation in an ever more interdependent world.

(APPLAUSE)

The long, hard primary tested and strengthened him. And in his first presidential decision, the selection of a running mate, he hit it out of the park.

(APPLAUSE)

With Joe Biden's experience and wisdom, supporting Barack Obama's proven understanding, instincts, and insight, America will have the national security leadership we need.

And so, my fellow Democrats, I say to you: Barack Obama is ready to lead America and to restore American leadership in the world.

(APPLAUSE)

Barack Obama is ready to honor the oath, to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

(APPLAUSE)

Barack Obama is ready to be president of the United States.

(APPLAUSE) As president, he will work for an America with more partners and fewer adversaries. He will rebuild our frayed alliances and revitalize the international institutions which helped to share the cost of the world's problems and to leverage the power of our influence.

He will put us back in the forefront of the world's fight against global warming and the fight to reduce nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.

(APPLAUSE)

He will continue and enhance our nation's commendable global leadership in an area in which I am deeply involved: the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, including -- including -- and this is very important -- a renewal of the battle against HIV and AIDS here at home.

And it is, to be fair to all the Americans who aren't as hard- core Democrats as we, it's a philosophy the American people never actually had a chance to see in action fully until 2001, when the Republicans finally gained control of both the White House and the Congress.

Then we saw what would happen to America if the policies they had talked about for decades actually were implemented. And look what happened.

They took us from record surpluses to an exploding debt; from over 22 million new jobs to just 5 million; from increasing working families' incomes to nearly $7,500 a year to a decline of more than $2,000 a year; from almost 8 million Americans lifted out of poverty to more than 5.5 million driven into poverty; and millions more losing their health insurance.

Now, in spite of all this evidence, their candidate is actually promising more of the same.

(AUDIENCE BOOS)

Think about it: more tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans that will swell the deficit, increase inequality, and weaken the economy; more Band-Aids for health care that will enrich insurance companies, impoverish families, and increase the number of uninsured; more going it alone in the world, instead of building the shared responsibilities and shared opportunities necessary to advance our security and restore our influence.

They actually want us to reward them for the last eight years by giving them four more.

AUDIENCE: No!

CLINTON: Now, let's send them a message that will echo from the Rockies all across America, a simple message: Thanks, but no thanks.

In this case...

(APPLAUSE)

In this case, the third time is not the charm.

(APPLAUSE)

My fellow Democrats, 16 years ago, you gave me the profound honor to lead our party to victory and to lead our nation to a new era of peace and broadly shared prosperity.

Together, we prevailed in a hard campaign in which Republicans said I was too young and too inexperienced to be commander-in-chief.

(APPLAUSE)

Sound familiar?

AUDIENCE: Yes!

CLINTON: It didn't work in 1992, because we were on the right side of history. And it will not work in 2008, because Barack Obama is on the right side of history.

(APPLAUSE)

Now, Senator Obama's life is a 21st-century incarnation of the old-fashioned American dream. His achievements are proof of our continuing progress toward the more perfect union of our founders' dreams. The values of freedom and equal opportunity, which have given him his historic chance, will drive him as president to give all Americans -- regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability -- their chance to build a decent life and to show our humanity, as well as our strengths, to the world.

We see that humanity, that strength, and our nation's future in Barack and Michelle Obama and their beautiful children.

We see them reinforced by the partnership with Joe Biden, his fabulous wife, Jill, a wonderful teacher, and their family.

Barack Obama will lead us away from the division and fear of the last eight years back to unity and hope.

So if, like me, you believe America must always be a place called Hope, then join Hillary and Chelsea and me in making Barack Obama the next president of the United States.

Thank you, and God bless you. Thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

A President Obama will choose diplomacy first and military force as a last resort.

(APPLAUSE)

But, in a world troubled by terror, by trafficking in weapons, drugs and people, by human rights abuses of the most awful kind, by other threats to our security, our interests, and our values, when he cannot convert adversaries into partners, he will stand up to them.

(APPLAUSE)

Barack Obama also will not allow the world's problems to obscure its opportunities.

CLINTON: Everywhere, in rich and poor countries alike, hard- working people need good jobs, secure, affordable health care, food and energy, quality education for their children and economically beneficial ways to fight global warming.

These challenges cry out for American ideas and American innovation. When Barack Obama unleashes them, America will save lives, win new allies, open new markets, and create wonderful new jobs for our own people.

(APPLAUSE)

Most important of all, Barack Obama knows that America cannot be strong abroad unless we are first strong at home.

(APPLAUSE)

People the world over have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power.

(APPLAUSE)

Look...

(APPLAUSE)

Look at the example the Republicans have set.

(AUDIENCE BOOS)

In this decade, American workers have consistently given us rising productivity. That means, year after year, they work harder and produce more.

Now, what did they get in return? Declining wages, less than one-fourth as many new jobs as in the previous eight years, smaller health care and pension benefits, rising poverty, and the biggest increase in income inequality since the 1920s.

(AUDIENCE BOOS)

American families by the millions are struggling with soaring health care costs and declining coverage.

I will never forget the parents of children with autism and other serious conditions who told me on the campaign trail that they couldn't afford health care and couldn't qualify their children for Medicaid unless they quit work and starved or got a divorce.

Are these the family values the Republicans are so proud of?

What about the military families pushed to the breaking point by multiple, multiple deployments? What about the assault on science and the defense of torture? What about the war on unions and the unlimited favors for the well-connected?

(AUDIENCE BOOS)

And what about Katrina and cronyism?

(AUDIENCE BOOS)

My fellow Democrats, America can do better than that.

(APPLAUSE)

And Barack Obama will do better than that.

(APPLAUSE)

Wait a minute. But first...

AUDIENCE: Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can! Yes, we can!

CLINTON: Yes, he can, but, first, we have to elect him.

(APPLAUSE)

The choice is clear. The Republicans in a few days will nominate a good man who has served our country heroically and who suffered terribly in a Vietnamese prison camp. He loves his country every bit as much as we do. As a senator, he has shown his independence of right-wing orthodoxy on some very important issues.

But on the two great questions of this election -- how to rebuild the American dream and how to restore America's leadership in the world -- he still embraces the extreme philosophy that has defined his party for more than 25 years.

(APPLAUSE)

*Scream*

lol Bill did a great job.

I love Bill Clinton. The man is amazing.

He's such a good speaker. He's one of the few that I actually enjoy listening to because he captivates my attention. And... I liked what he said.

"Now, what did they get in return? Declining wages, less than one-fourth as many new jobs as in the previous eight years, smaller health care and pension benefits, rising poverty, and the biggest increase in income inequality since the 1920s. American families by the millions are struggling with soaring health care costs and declining coverage."

He left out the part about the workers being TOO STUPID to even realize this and continuing to vote REPUBLICAN!

Great Red Meat speach!

Bill Clinton did more damage to the Obama campaign than he can undo now.

I don't care if you're left or right, if you're an American...and you hear a speech like you did tonight from Bill Clinton and it makes you wonder how a country so diverse, so smart, could end up with G.W. Bush...twice.

It's embarrassing.

Anyone that would vote for McCant over Obama/Biden should really do some serious self examination and reflection of themselves.

bill knocked it out of the park. hillary was great last night too.

no more trash talking fellow dems until after the election, period.

and hillary would make a hell of a senate majority leader. imagine her and pelosi along with obama finally cleaning up this steaming pile of crap the neocons dumped on america.

I was pleasantly surprised by Clinton's speech, though I'm sure the zombies at Fox News will parse it into being a less than whole-hearted endorsement of Obama. "Well, he didn't come out and say x or y."

I'm still in shock that Republicans are pressing ahead with their attack strategy--i.e. Obama is somehow too intellectual and elitist AND empty and thin. It defies logic, of course (how can someone be too smart yet too shallow? a deep thinker yet just a celebrity?). And their attack is so close to being overtly racist, it's outrageous.

7 Sean-B Says: Bill Clinton did more damage to the Obama campaign than he can undo now.
=======================
As someone whose been coming here for two years now, and avidly following this election campaign, I didn't follow any of it, because I knew it was primary season infighting. I assume most Americans didn't follow it either (look where your country has got to in 8 years and 50% say McPOW is their man-- CASE CLOSED!!-- they're out shopping, or OUT TO LUNCH, and I don't mean eating, either.).

Much better speech than Hillary in throwing support and addressing the key points that needed to be addressed, namely if you voted for Hillary vote for Obama and that Obama has the experience--sort of retracting the Hillary attack ads. I don't much respect Bill, nor do I think he was a very good President, but job well done tonight.

bill clinton showed he has greatness in him.

so did you all watch the convention online via the countdown site? it's the same thing you see watching c-span except with a viewer you can make full screen.

no talking heads, no commercials, no interruptions in the speechifying! nobody telling me that what i just saw and heard was something else altogether! and musical interludes between speeches that give me opportunities to think about what i heard, go to the bathroom or get some more beverage! whee!

i just hope lots and lots of you watch tomorrow's convention activities over there and enjoy the same great benefits i have: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/

Apparently "PUMA"s are a figment of our imagination. Kinda like Sasquatch.

It looks like part of the transcript has been pasted into the wrong section. It looks like the ending section of the speech from where President Clinton mentions Republicans gaining control of both the White House & congress to the end has been pasted into the middle, right after President Clinton talks about AIDS work.

And this was a truly spectacular speech - Bill Clinton is such an amazing public speaker, and he did his party proud tonight.

I've wondered this same thing on many, many, occasions. I personally know of many people that are truly embarrassed to say they voted for GW; not once, but twice.

How can anyone question Obama's ability to be Commander and Chief after witnessing eight years of GW's inept, incompetent, disastrous, leadership?

I wish Clinton actually did something to stop these trends instead of turning into a back-stabbing, corporation-hugging Republicrat in the 90s.

Billy Boy did great tonight and face it... he gives a red meat stump speech like very few can.

I want to see him now go out on the stump in the swing states for Barack!

Maybe the elections were rigged?

Btw, that was an awesome speech. In order to ensure that obama wins, we should shoot for 60/40 landslide. Otherwise, deibold fix will get us again.

This has sent Fox "News" into a panic mode, with both Clinton's putting 110% support behind our next President with full party unity. I almost wish I hadn't had the right wing propaganda channel blocked on my TV. I could use a good laugh tonight. Is Bill O Riley crying like a baby? Dang I want to see that.

What an incredible, unequivocal, ringing endorsement. He truly hit it out of the park, as did his wife the night before, as did Joe Biden (not to mention Michelle and many, many others. This convention has been a resounding success and a triumph for all involved, especially Barack Obama.

hey he even mentioned autism

but he didnt mention that his wife's healthcare push was behind increasing the infant vaccine schedule which correlates with the increase in autism rates and pharma profits

1 in 10,000 before the change
1 in 150 after the program was in full swing

No such correlation exists. Take a course in statistics.

I'm so sick of this coming up. Correlation does not equal causation.

please write this on the blackboard 1000 times:
Correlation does not equal causation.
Correlation does not equal causation.
Correlation does not equal causation.
...

Do you know what that means? It means that yes, those two things might be true (i'm not even sure that they are) but citing that one causes the other is ridiculous.

There are so many pollutants in our modern world and any number of them might be causing it. It might be an unknown virus or that women are having children older and older. Who knows?! What is known is that your kid might be in for a world of hurt if they don't get vaccines.

He's making nice now, but it's hard to forget some of the nastiness that went on during the primaries. Good speech though. He's always been brilliantly articulate.

mcKeating has already unleashed the ad where hillary praises McSame and says that Barack's experience consists of a speech he gave in 2002. She will have to live with that. just like bill and the Jesse jackson comment, among other things.

Great speech, Even better because Hillary's speech set him up so well. Biden will be better now because of the Clinton's and Obama will bring the house down closing night.

Just remember though, "fuck the media".

The only thing about I "imagine" about Pelosi, is her wearing a nicely fitted orange jumpsuit, as she is standing trial next to Bush and his cronies for enabling the continuation of their war crimes.

Why should we "wait" for anything? Obama had a chance to speak up about the telecom FISA crimes, but no, he voted to give them immunity.

When is this "change" going to happen?

i took a quick look at fox after the speech and hannity and rove were amazing. hannity was trying despirately to make an issue out of the fact that bubba was to only speak for 15 minutes and he talked for 20+. bubba was also to speak on a preapproved limited number of topics and he went away from that agreement.
how lovely to see the level of despiration these right wing dorkwads are showing this week. childish is a word that coomes to mind, but it is not fair to children.

did anyone else notice the fleetwood mac song they had bill walk out to??

could they not have made a better selection?!?!?

Bill Clinton speech - test skills for Obama !!!

While Bill Clinton's speech on the third night of the convention will only be a courtesy accorded former presidents, Obama -- who speaks tomorrow, the last night of the convention -- needs his support desperately.

nat @ 33

it has been his theme song since his campaigns. fleetwood mac performed it live for one of his events, back in the day.

Sean-B @ 7:

Bill Clinton did more damage to the Obama campaign than he can undo now.

What does this mean? Are you just being obtuse?!!?

I still don't get it. What are our elected Democrats doing? What are they waiting for? This is the weakest Convention ever. I LOVE Bill Clinton and I LOVE Joe Biden - I mean I really, really love them both - which I realize is kind of sad on my part - but anyway, their speeches were good, really good. But they weren't great. I didn't feel the need to sit up and yell back at my tv and clap and get all patriotic.

Where's the roar of the crowd? Where were the cheers? Where was the passionate ear splitting choreographed responses at the appropriate moments - it took conventioners forever to even realize that their were rallying "repeat phrases" in the speeches! For cryin' out loud, the audience members were holding signs that had the phrases printed on them and still the crowd response was abysmal and out of sync! Everybody seems so resigned - like we just bussed in a bunch of people who had nothing better to do. At the same time, they're not giving us anything to get riled up about. Every time the cameras go to the audience, the people look like they're sleeping. Nobody's listening. Michelle Maddow is right and as much as it just about kills me to say, so is Pat Buchanan. People are waiting to get up on their feet and stomp up and down to hear from their leaders - they want to know that Bill and Joe and Hillary, and Nancy and Dean get us - that we're pissed off at Bush, Cheney, Fox News and McSame. Why aren't they capitalizing on our outrage? It makes us look weak to our own party members - forget about how we look to the Republicans. If we can't even fight and hold them accountable for the out and out lies and criminal actions - what are we going to do if we make it to the White House and Fox News and Limbaugh start off day one trying to impeach Obama? The same thing we did during Clinton's two terms? Who will be the Ken Starr of this administration?

Why aren't they doing anything? Next week the Republican Convention is going to rip us apart like wolves. Like they always do. And here we are this week, the same as we've been for the past eight years, mamby pamby. No passion. No outrage. Reacting instead to the Republican rhetoric and responding to their criticisms by trying not too look too elitist, too superstar, too out of touch. How do they react to our criticism's, they don't, they ignore and call us names. I want to blame the press as much as the next person for letting this current administration get away with what they have over the last 8 years, but really . . . where is the anger? The stories are out there, people are hearing them on a daily basis, they're talking about them and what do we hear from our Democratic leaders? . . . . *crickets*

When Obama comes out I agree his speech needs to address his plans for how he's going to get us out of this mess, but the time to Scream and Yell to pull this party together, is gone. It was wasted. And I think Democrats as a whole are disappointed; they wanted a sign of our strength - they were waiting for affirmation; confirmation that they didn't dream the last eight years, that something really bad did happen. How can they promise it won't happen again, if they're practically ignoring it right now?

Not to throw cold water on this thread but....
Who really witnessed this speech other then the "choir"? His speech was way before the 1 hour major network slot. Add to that the FOX negative spin on all this and you have to be realistic about our challenges. Granted, great speech but when a tree falls in the forest....
Go Obama!!! Hoping for the best.

He said what needed to be said and in his brilliantly charasmatic way.

SlaveryIsFreedom: "When is this “change” going to happen?"

January 20, 2009. To tide you over, try this.

This bastard (sweat) still has charisma.

He has the intelligence and curiosity every successful president needs.
It would be a change from the president you would most like to have a beer with.

I was very happy and proud to see President Clinton come to terms with what I always knew that he understood, better then he was making out.

I know that both he and Hillary will be able to rest in peace with the decision they made.

I know that they both know how hard Obama will work for the betterment of this nation and for both of them to come to the aide of the democratic party in our greatest hour of need of them, was just simply stunning to say the least.

I think the best line of the whole speech was when he said, "Thanks, but no thanks" to four more years of Republican rule.

i thought bill clinton kicked some ass tonight. i'm pleased
he took the high road.

honest to christ

if the hillary of last nite, and the bill of tonite had been the ones who showed up during the primaries...she wins

who ever told them to go negative messed up

and nobody can speechify better than bill

Why would I want to take a drug?

I would think Obama voting "yes" to give immunity to telecom companies is a rather serious issue.

As well as Pelosi keeping impeachment "off the table" in the face of blatant crimes by Bush.

But feel free to continue with ad-hominem style attacks, it seems to be the status quo around here.

Reminds me of an old "West Wing" episode where Bartlett was dumbing down:

Toby; There's nothing wrong with being the smartest person in the room.

Bill Clinton delivered!

UNITY OF DEMOCRATS - the republicons ARE jealous. With the 2 Clintons and their 18 million now putting their STRONG support behind Barrack Obama, the republiCONs have no chance.

Pave the way for Preisdent Obama!

Say what you want about Bill when his trousers are down, but damn, he did get things done better than both Bushes combined and he is 1000000000000000 times more intelligent than W - or McCain. Brains matter - not who is a better drinking partner.

McCondo/McBush/McSame is going down in flames - yet again!! Better pack a parachute buddy!

Back in the day, Clinton stopped Gingrich in his tracks. Eternal gratitude to him for that.

Not so for NAFTA.

Lots of friends lots good jobs.

(I'm a whiner.)

Bill Clinton Truly Amazing, Hilary Clinton Truly Amazing,
Obama / Biden Truly Amazing
The United States of America TRULY AMAZING!

Oh Please. What a load of staged crap this whole speech was.

Clinton and the Bush's go on so many vacations together that this whole criticism feels staged and hollow. I bet he doesn't even confront this president face to face on the fact that he's been killing this country for the last 8 years. If I had a friend who was torturing people, killing innocent people, and raping the poor, i'd disown them, or at least not be caught dead in public with them.

and no Bill, John McCain is not a good man, and he doesn't give a damn about America.

Both of the Clintons did a great job. Watching the Convention, which I did on CSPAN (minus the ridiculous commentators and commercials), I felt proud of the Dems and proud of the possibility for America to redeem itself, after the last 8 years of insanity and hell, brought to us by the Bush crime family.

My wife and I, (after intently listening to each & every speech so far at the convention) ask the same question........how did Bush ever become President.....a second time?
The eloquence of the poorest speaker is still 10 times better than Bush's best speech, What an embarassment that man was to your country.

Both Clintons managed the facade of their attempt to wrest control of the party from him and launch her new campaign. If they succeed, they will learn what a truly divided party looks like.

I am not going to watch or listen to any of the analysis from the pinhead pundits on TV and radio, but I can imagine that the majority will consist of the phrase, "...and this can only be good for the McCain campaign."

To all of you who continue to harp on the lack of unity within the party, and the supposed bitterness of Hillary supporters;

If you're a Democrat, give it a rest. It's time to move on.
If you're a Republican't, go away. Your tactics aren't going to work.
If you're part of the MSM and are trying desperately to create a story that isn't there, go focus on the next Brittany Spears or Paris Hilton crisis!

Anybody see Dennis Kucinich make BillO fly off the handle itno a tizzy yesterday ?
It was classic, Kucinich countered every one of Bill's talking points and Bill just hyperventilated and had to end the interview. awesome.

Bill, Hillary, Michelle, Joe, John Kerry, and Brian Schweitzer all hit it out of the park over the last three nights. This is the first time I've ever said this, but Barack Obama has a really tough act to follow tonight. But if he tops them, this election is over. It'll be a landslide victory in November.

Bill Clinton Throws His Full Weight Behind Obama...

Wouldn't that throw Obama onto his face?

Bill Cliinton could discuss the minutia of the most arcane economic or political theory like it was on the tip of his tonguue, and probably do it in Latin.

While getting a hummer.

Bubba always had a tilt to his head and an expression of confidence like a cross between Benito MUssolini and Frankliin Delano Roosevelt.

Meanwhile who do we have in office?

Someone who looked like he got his head dunked in a lot of school toilets.

You obviously aren't watching the same convention I and the rest of America is watching. Or maybe you just watch C-Span or PBS...

Let's face it. Bill Clinton is a smart, smart guy. And this is why I just could not get inspired by Hillary. Who can even begin to compare the speech that Hillary gave with the speech that Bill gave last night? When a woman comes along that is as smart and charasmatic and qualified as the Bill Clinton's of this world or the Barack Obama's of this world, then I will support her.

I liked his speech a lot and it was perfect (as usual), but did he really have a choice??
Only if he preferred being the "Dark horse" to O'Bama. Why does the future First Lady frown so much? Is she kept in the dark? Even Chelsea was smiling, maybe she has a higher clearance...

......62 BRB The Fireball: Bill, Hillary, Michelle, Joe, John Kerry, and Brian Schweitzer all hit it out of the park over the last three nights. This is the first time I’ve ever said this, but Barack Obama has a really tough act to follow tonight. But if he tops them, this election is over. It’ll be a landslide victory in November......

You know, I was thinking last night as I watched it all that it was very, very smart of the Democratic party to go with the Civil Rights theme to take our country back from the thugs. Its the right thing to do at the right time and it only makes sense because America is more diverse now than ever. Mayflower descendants, Daughters of Texas, etc., need not apply.

Wow, I'll bet Mr.Bill Clinton doesn't dare blast 'BUSH' while
he's golfing and fishing with him. Anyone seen the photo
of Bill and Bush Sr. holding pinkies? This is all theater.
He should get an Oscar.

Bill Clinton did more damage to the Obama campaign than he can undo now.

If you choose to keep focusing on it.

Wow, ya' say American politics is "theater", go on, really, you don't say, ya' think. Just what would "Mr. Bill Clinton" have needed to do for you to feel he wasn't participating in "theater?"

I heard all sorts of music during the convention on the tube.

But with Obama's tall lanky built, maybe this would be more appropriate:

If there's anything worse than a sore loser it's a sore winner.

LOL Bill Clinton signed NAFTA and China trade in to law. Thats when really destroyed the economy before Bush, Billy set the wheels in motion for what we have today with the 'Iraq Liberation act". So please Bill.

What does this mean? Are you just being obtuse?!!?

Clinton was the hatchet man for his wife's campaign. When he was done, he disenfranchised the very people who voted for him in the 90's. Now, word parser that he is, he can't say he himself was wrong about Obama.

I'm just not sold.

Hillary Clinton did a tremendous job at uniting the party. Bill, not so much.

There will be more primaries. The political landscape is becoming more and more vicious even within the same parties. It's important to discuss how to stay united even during that process.

Ignore the issue if you wish.
