Dean: "Is there a delay [in the audio feed] here? I think there's a delay. It's like inside John McCain's brain."

Foooooooist!

That was a funnier'n hell show last night!

BURN!

Woo hoo. The insults are a'flyin'. Let's see if we can guess whose mother is currently wearing army boots.

Once a Deaniac always a Deaniac...the guy may have ruffled a few establishment Dem feathers over the years but he'll always be one of my favorites.

Sa-NAP!!!

Dean,

What the hell is the problem with your New Hampshire neighbors? What? do they see McCain as the replacement for the old man in the mountain?

The better moment in that show was the Jon Stewart- John Oliver exchange. That was effing brilliant. Anyone who has watched any of the news coverage would recognize it.

HA! XD

What a vicious thing to say about a POW. What is he implying, that a POW can't think on his feet? I think he should apologist to all POW's and stop attacking Cindy McCain..... she is married to a POW ya know!

The English send us a message from across the water

Americans Must Give GOP a Good Kicking

The English are sending a pretty good message!

Man, Obama really did make a good pick with Biden. Choosing a man with a real set of teeth on him allows Obama to cover his "aggression gap" while keeping his saintly image intact. This remark is just one of what I imagine will be plenty more examples...

Rev. O.J. Flow @ 6:

Sa-NAP!!!

that would be synapse wouldn't it? ...or lack there of.

That was so off the cuff and so good. The expression on Dean's face when he said it was priceless. I love a guy with a good sense of humor.

McDepends was pwned by the good doctor...........

I'm off to hop in the shower and get ready for what is going to be a memorable speech night. Here's to sending Obama good wishes for a great speech.

saw that, too. stewart, who is mccain's friend, had no reply.

It's not a delay in McBain's brain, it's a total disconnect.

Is John McCain insane?

Fair is fair. Everything is now on the table. That means attacking McC*nt's short temper, his age, his flip-flops, and yes, his precious POW status.

I don't expect Obama to jump in, but his staff and other Dems damn well better do it.

And while we're at it, enough with this prefacing every statement with..."McCain is a good man, but...." or "McCain is an honorable, decent man, but..."

Fuck that.

Guaranteed, next week we won't hear a single positive word about Obama. Not one.

Good one.

...Going inside John McCain's brain... hmmm, dunno, sound kinda dangerous to me.....JD

What's on the button?

Best line at the convention.

It's amazing how many really good candidates both in the primaries and general election get steamrolled by the Wight-Ring (you may think that's a typo... but if you think about it...), the lazy corporate media and the un- to ill-informed masses. We really missed out on having this country being on the right course for the past seven years.

Has NcCain even beeen campaigning? The man seems to have fallen of the face of the Earth. After appearing on he Late Show(Now who is the celebrity?) he vanished. Maybe taking a nap? Lord knows he doesn't campaign on weekends.

Of course not... Republicans have no respect for themselves or other people.

Is Cindy Mcpainpill in Georgia telling the ruskies to leave?

That was utterly hilarious ...

Dean's response last night was classic....funny as hell.

At the same time, I think it really does point out a problem....I really do think McSame has a synapse problem. He often uses standard stump speech answers (like at the Saddleback thing, when Rick Warren specifically asked each candidate NOT to do this); he also gives very short, curt answers like "read my book." He can't remember the proper answer some times!

i just want dean to explain why lobbyests were all over denver throwing big, lavish, secret parties

it is customary not to campaign during the opposing convention

Dean had a few good zingers last night (a couple flat ones too). Overall, a good show.

Frankly, reading the comments section reminded me the fact that America, for the most part, is made up of complete morons.

I did not know that.

I thought it was a case of his handlers not wanting to risk another "foot in mouth" moment, it seems that for the past couple of weeks the GOP has been unable to control the message as far as the MSM goes and now they are *gasp* reporting McCain's blunders!!!

I think the houses fiasco finally put a nail in the coffin of McCain's campaign.

At some point the personal issues about McCain will start to come out. Despite the fact that the McCain gang (with many of the same members as the Bush gang) have been hitting Obama on personal issues, the formal Democratic response has been subdued. Pointing out obvious defects that would affect McCain's ability to do the job (age, demonstrable decision making, anger management, etc) are fair game. How many houses you have and how rich you are is not, frankly, such a big deal.

If your temperament and mental ability is such that you cannot deal rationally with crises then you should not have the job and questions about such defects are fair game.

Simple as that....

Interesting that Jon would bring up the set that Barack will be standing in front of to accept his nomination. Presumptuous? Arrogant? WTF? That is a right wing concern troll talking point. I love Jon and The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are brilliant. But every now and then, Jon says things like this that disappoint me greatly.

The guy was a moron in his early years, I doubt that age has helped any on a brain that was substandard to begin with.

The fact that McCain is even a viable candidate, after what seems to have been one of the worst presidencies in this country's history, sort of lets me know that George Carlin was right: the average IQ and life expectancy of the average American just passed each other in the opposite direction.

If you think about it, this country is considering the possibility of electing a person whose only achievement in life seems to have been "captured by the enemy."

Jon is a comedian, the fact that we are reduced to have a comedy program as the *only* credible source of news in the M$M is truly disappointing.

I think we are now living parts of the Divine Comedy *pun intended*

Why does one have to link this remark to his age. Can't McCain just be mentally at a disadvantage regardless of his age? Why not just say Dean got a dig on McCain's POW experience. HEY RIGHT-WINGERS, DEAN MADE AN AGEIST COMMENT ON THE DAILY SHOW LAST NIGHT. SOME LEFTIST BLOGGERS THINK SO TOO.

Tyler Durden @ 38:

I wouldn't call Jon the "only" credible source. Olbermans pretty good and I'm sure Maddow is gonna be great. That's slim pickins for sure, but not the "only" credible source. My point is that Jon is saying the same things that crazy concern trolls are saying,

republicans in a tizzy over invesco

and I find that troubling. Even from a "Comedian". I don't think the question was supposed to be funny. "Comedian" or not, the question seemed sincere.

i haven't "literally" laughed out-loud that loud in a long time.

the timing on that was incredible.

Campaign suggestion:
McCain is the POW candidate who wants to hold the American economy POWar funding -- to his war funding.

Sen McCain was a prisoner of war 35 years ago, for 5 years.
NOW, after 5 years of a bank breaking war, he wants to hold the American economy as a prisoner of war funding for 4 more years.

Dangerous? Why? It's not as though there are lots of sharp things in there. As a matter of fact, I'll bet there's plenty of room to wander freely and safely.

hahahahahahahahahahaha.

o snap

There are numerous ways to campaign. These will apparently air tonight: http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/john_mccains_jek...

What a dirty little mind-fucker McShame is. He's so freakin' hypocritical. It's even sadder how anyone can actually buy into him. I just wish everytime I puke his Ferragamos were within puke shot. At least it might be worth the aftertaste.

Is it just me or is Howard Dean starting to resemble Lee Oswald?

That was not a dig at McCain's age...That was a dig at McCain's brain. Huge difference.

Uh, Jim? Here it is: Howard Dean is HOT!!! Brains, savy and fabulous teeth/smile. Oh, yeah.

Ok, it was a nice jab from Dean... BUT...

how on earth is it possible that a seasoned host like Jon is unable to avoid confusing his guest when dealing with a delay in the feed?

Jon was asking multiple questions in a row, taking great awkward pauses between all of them, but still not giving Dean the time to respond so you just knew the 'conversation' had to go down the tubes. Worst.interview.ever, Jon. When dealing with a delay, either ask your question(s) or shut up. Probably should've known that by now already, right?
