Ava of Peace Takes Courage has a new video up and is asking for your help:

This video was quickly made for the “Dump Dick” video contest. I’ve been extremely busy working on the documentary and haven’t had much time to make videos but threw this one together in a few hours. Please vote for this video in the contest by rating it five stars and help support it by linking it to your blog, myspace, or website and sending it to your friends and family. All the prize money that would be won if this video wins the contest will go towards funding the documentary.

Peace Takes Courage:

I'm beginning a documentary on the Iraq war, its Veterans, and the effects of the war on the troops when returning home. I would like to interview Veterans from the Iraq war and talk with them about why they joined the military, what were their thoughts about the Iraq war before they went, and if those opinions changed after returning from the war. My goal is to show the war, what inspires Americans to enlist, and how their views might change or evolve after joining by letting Veterans tell their own stories. We are looking to interview Iraq Veterans from the South since we are located in Alabama. We can film in the following states: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky. If you are an Iraq war veteran in any of these states and are interested in doing an interview please contact me.  

Ava has done such fantastic work and for someone as young as she is, really helped distill the peace movement's message into something that's hard to argue against, which is why, of course, the Bush cheerleaders have opted to attack her personally instead. Please consider helping out Ava if you can.

Bush’s Speech in Chicago

I only watched a little of it, but it seems to me that he promised there would be no spying on our medical records if they are electronically updated.

Bush: Our goal by the way, is to have every American to have an electronic medical record, by the way, with the guarantee of privacy.

It brings to mind what he said about court orders and wiretaps.

Bush: When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so….

Bush also was asked to tell a sixteen year old girl how to make America a better place.

Bush: To Jasmine, listen carefully to that universal admonition," Love a neighbor like you would like to be loved yourself..
