Former President Donald Trump has claimed several times that he will testify in his criminal trial, where he is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels. But now, he appears to be looking for a way out. I'm sure his lawyers were panicking when Lumpy told reporters he would testify. A serial liar like Trump would commit perjury, so he falsely said that he can't testify because he's under a gag order.

Judge Juan Merchan fined Trump $9,000 earlier this week for violating the gag order, but that doesn't stop the twice-impeached former President from testifying. But of course, he lied when a reporter asked him about that.

"Well, I'm not allowed to testify," he falsely said. "I'm under a gag order. I guess, right? I can't even testify at all."

"No, we're going to be appealing the gag order," Trump continued. "I'd love to answer that question. It's a very easy question. The easiest question so far."

Then, Trump threw himself a pity party.

"But I'm not allowed to testify because this judge, who's totally conflicted, has me under an unconstitutional gag order," he insisted. "Nobody's ever had that before. And we don't like it, and it's not fair."

"Other people are allowed to do whatever they want to us, and I'm not allowed, as a presidential candidate, the leading candidate, the Republican Party nominee, and the one who's leading Biden by a lot, I'm not allowed to talk," he continued. "There's never been any abuse like this before. This conflicted judge ought to get out of this case. He should not be having this case."

"He gives us nothing. It's such a rigged court," Trump added. "So I'm not allowed to testify because of an unconstitutional gag order. We're appealing the gag order, and let's see what happens. Thank you very much."

Who told him this lie was a good idea? A person can easily Google it to see that an individual can testify under a gag order. He thinks we're stupid, and he knows his base is. They'll believe this lie just like they've believed the thousands of lies he's told the American people. And it's not really a hush-money case. Trump interfered with the 2016 election, and he tried to interfere with the 2020 election.
