Coulter denies attacking Edwards on GMA (Coulter:…if I’m going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I’ll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.”) and then talks over her as Elizabeth tries to get through…She tells Ann that her ilk debases political dialogue—Oh, really? Ann tries to spin it that Edwards is telling her to stop talking which is of course—wrong. Elizabeth also tells her that she’s the mother of the son who died and called her out on Coulter’s column that said this about John Edwards:
If you want points for not using your son’s death politically, don’t you have to take down all those “Ask me about my son’s death in a horrific car accident” bumper stickers?
Ann’s defense is that she wrote it three years ago….

Elizabeth Edwards would make a good President. Most of what is good in John seems to come from her –it turns out that he didn’t even know she was for gay marriage.
I hope that Obama follows Mrs Edwards’ lead and calls Matthews tomorrow to ask why Hardball allows her to air personal attacks.

Ann did the only thing she can do well, she made personal attacks. Mrs Edwards did just what my grandmother used to tell me to do when faced with a mean and nasty person. She said, just lift your skirts and step over the mud. Never let the hem of your skirts be dirtied. That’s just what she did. She stepped right over Ann’s vile words and never allowed herself to drop to Ann’s level. Class plus!

Coulter knows that the more attention she draws to herself the better or her. The more books she sells. If you want to sell books there is no such thing as bad publicity. If the networks could somehow be told that people like Coulter and Milkin and their ilk are not acceptable we would all be better off. Looks like Coulter is kind of like one of those Ripley’s Believe It or Not demonstrations.
