This is a pretty common tactic of theirs. Why not? Is there an FCC that will fine them? No.

Show a female breast, anything you can see at the maternity ward, and you’ll get fined millions of dollars.

I’m just wondering how often other news outlets make that mistake. For that matter, how often has F*x labeled Dems with an (R)? I’m guessing the answer to both questions is “not very often”.

Or think its honest mistake as our analytical apologists point out.

I can remember only a few of these incidents, but it always seems to be them.

Maybe he is changing to a Dem. since his party is full of liars, cheats, criminals and incompetence and he’s sick of it.

Faux Noise more than likely labeled him a “D” because he did today give
Gonzo a good going over, and you know Faux…Gonzo is one of their hero’s.
But, then again, tomorrow or next day, Specter will once again do his customary
flip-flop and support Gonzo/bush/cheney/et.al. so putting any faith or confidence
in Specter is a complete and total waste…He is a two-faced politician.

It seems to be that someone at Faux should resign. If you are unable to get your fact correct, perhaps it’s time to leave and work for K. Rove.

Nothing the FOX noise channel does surprises me any more. They aren’t news, can’t claim to be a news channel. They are merely a pathetic piss-poor excuse for a source of faux news and propaganda. They do a very good job at being a mouthpiece for the White House. They do NOT serve the American people by distorting and twisting facts, and mis-representing news events like they do. They are a tool, nothing more.

For the hearing with Gonzales this morning, Senator Leahy and/or Spector needed to ask Gonzales THIS in a LOUD, AGGRESIVE and CLEAR voice:

“Mr. Attorney General, you answer that question. This is the United States of America. Transparency is the rule here. We don’t have secret government. That’s what Alexander Solzhenitsyn wrote about in the Gulag. That’s not the United States of America. We pay your salary. Guy, I’m not an “apologist,” as you so inelegantly disparage. I worked in TV for 10 years in LA, most of it live (award shows, news, “Roc”, etc.), and I know that most of the people working in the control room, particularly at the entry level (i.e., Chyron operators, teleprompter operators) are just not bright enough to even THINK to stick a D next to Arlen’s name. They work their way down a list of possibly hundreds of names, in the dark practically, in this case each with an R or D next to it.

The MUCH more likely explanation in this case is a simple transposition, pulling a D off the end of the line before or after as they typed it in.

All that said, I’m entirely in agreement that Fox Snooz is filled at the top with bad people.

The only other explanation I can think of in this case, and it is a REAL stretch, is that it is the TV news equivalent of flame bait. I’m mean seriously, look at all time we’re wasting talking about this typo when there are far bigger fish to fry.
