This is funny but I hope you also post the clip where Bill, the panel, and the audience take Rham Emmanuel to the woodshed over defunding the war. That was much more satisfying to watch than this Oreilly fluff. The audience actually started shouting him down as he spoke.

AGREED wholeheartedly did nothing for me except make me cringe.
I think this explains the whole O'Reilly phenomenon:
I don't think O'Reilly is very conservative, it's that he's very anti-left. It's because he knows that the vast majority of his audience are conservatives, so he picks his fights with the left. But more than anything, he has an incredibly huge ego. I think it's very difficult to know what he actually believes in because, I am afraid, most of what he does on the show is an act. He loves himself, money, and fame. And anybody that attacks him in any way gets attacked back (except Keith Olberman) by using his own show. If people refuse to come, they are cowards. And as I said, because he only attacks the left in order to keep his audience satisfied, he appears to be more conservative than he is. After all these years, his audience has come to believe that he's God. They literally believe every word he says and all the news they get is from his perspective, which he, of course, describes as a no-spin zone. It's a masterful execution of a grand plan.
This whole black restaurant thing is a perfect example. He could have ended the controversy by saying that he's sorry if he offended anybody, even if he didn't intend to offend. Instead, everybody else was to blame. They took him out of context, they hate Fox News, the media is dishonest, etc. On top of that, he blamed the media for milking this story for ratings, but all he did is to create an anti Bill O'Reilly conspiracy and put the blame on everybody else...for ratings. Saying that he is sorry will hurt his reputation with his audience. He wants to exhibit strength at all times.
I think he has completely lost it. The one positive is that most of his audience is very old and will die out soon. Which makes his obsession with rap even more ridiculous. His audience has no idea what he's talking about most of the time when he talks about Ludacris and other rappers. But the important thing for him is that he creates more controversy and that he demonizes people that don't watch his show: blacks.
He's very smart and he knows exactly what he has to do in order to keep a large audience and to continually generate controversy.

I just heard Sam Seder on the Ring of Fire podcast from last week. Sam was talking about Larry Craig and the Republican politicians and I think he was right on.
Sam said that the gay Republican politicians are in the closet and repressed. This explains their bizarre illegal behavior like Craig admittedly soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom stall. It explains that Republican official in Florida recently caught trying to explain his buying a blowjob from an undercover police officer in a bathroom stall by saying he was afraid of black people. It explains Haggerty and his drug addiction and gay affair.
Sam said he personally knows of at least two other Republican Senators he thinks are gay. I'm guessing Lindsay Graham, a former JAG officer no less (a double whammy with the Republican we don't want gays in the military policy).
Sam recounted how he walked the floor of the Republican convention trying to find a single person who would admit they were gay. He said he walked and walked. Finally someone took him aside and pointed him to an admittedly gay Republican delegate from Florida. Sam said the man was about 64 years old and had undergone a life changing self-realization. Sam said the man was almost crying as he told Sam, if I don't stay here who will voice the opinion of gay people? That is the only gay person Sam could find. Right.
So all this brings me to, who else, the evil object of Republicans' obsessions - Ahmadinejad. When asked about gay people at Columbia, Ahmadinejad said, oh no, we don't have those kind of people in Iran. The crowd burst out laughing at how ridiculous and homophobic the statement was. That is how out of touch the Republican Party is today. No gays in Iran. No gays in the Republican Party.
PS Sam speculated that the person who had the enormous juice to set that gay prostitute up with a phony security clearance and press pass for hundreds of "social visits" to the White House is none other than Rove. That would be the ultimate irony. The master gay basher - the biggest of them all - pulling hundreds of Larry Craig's in the White House. Seder speculated that shortly after the gay prostitute in the White House scandal a story was floated that Rove was having a heterosexual affair to act as cover for Rove's real sexual orientation. It reminds me of hearing Palast say after reading hundreds of Rove's emails which he accidentally sent to the wrong address (a friend of Palast's), that he would not comment on Rove's sexual orientation. Palast said it in such a way that raised an issue in my mind. Normally I couldn't care less about a person's sexual orientation, but it would be highly relevant for Rove because he is the ringleader of gay bashers in the Republican Party. Rove put the issue in play. Anyway, it's all speculation, just based on someone else's public statement.

Actually I think Maher's stuff was just as racist if only because their idea of O'wanna-be fitting in with the black community involved stealing and dog fighting, and only because they're currently popular news bits.
They should have showed him trying to rap or attempting to learn voodoo.
part of the problem is Hollywood and TV, they still stereotype black people either as buffoonish sidekicks,
or as criminals to be caught by the 'nice' whiter detectives.
Even modern films like Shrek, have Eddie Murphy selling out and doing 1930s hollywood rolling eyes scared negro routine for the Hollywood bosses, and the generally white (or non black) audiences as they see it.
Black actors and celebs need to stand up for themselves, be funny but dignified and stop helping keep their people down.

Sure, but the spin and the lies he spews at every opportunity aren't reminiscent of the Republican party? Or at the very least of the current administration? Bill Maher has gone bat shit crazy. I swear Maher is as liberal as Hillary.
Bill O'Reilly biographer, Marvin Kitman, revealed that Billo makes $50 million/yr. If I made 50M/yr I would say whatever I damn well pleased and tell all my critics to kiss my filthy rich wrinkled Irish ass; which is pretty much what O'Reilly does every day.

Uh... I believe Maher was simply satirizing O'Reilly's perception of "black" culture.
A while back on his radio program, O'Knucklehead compared the enslavement of Africans and their transport to America with his Irish ancestors migration to America in the 1800's.

I have seen these nicknames many times and don't understand the references.
Whatever they mean, I am sure he has earned them and that they aren't complimentary.
Site Monitor: It has to do with the sexual harassment suit O'Reilly settled with a producer; he had sexually graphic conversations with her describing acts involving a loofah, which he confused with a falafel later in the conversation. The Smoking Gun has the trancripts of her deposition.
