If you know singer/songwriter Steve Barton at all, it is likely that you're familiar with him as one of lead singers in San Francisco new wave era band Translator. Maybe you even recall their underground hit Everywhere That I'm Not. But Steve's been living in Los Angeles for years and he's still writing songs, playing shows and recording CDs. The newest one is Flicker of Time and the next show is... tonight. Steve and his band, the Oblivion Click, are playing a FREE show at Spaceland in Silver Lake. They go on at 9pm and if you like smart lyrics wedded to driving pop music, this is a show for you. And did I say free? What can you lose? The price of a last minute airline ticket? All the fires in L.A. are out though, so it's safe. Anyway, Steve goes on at 9 if you're in the hood. This is "Monument" from the album before this one, Charm Offensive:

And Steve's MySpace page has tons of music you can listen to.
