On Monday's Countdown, Keith Olbermann awarded Bill O'Reilly the bronze for chiding Barack Obama for appearing on Tyra Banks' program, but not The Factor and the silver to "Islamofacist" hate-mongerer David Horowitz for likening the noose found hanging on a black professor's door at Columbia University to an imaginary noose he thinks hangs over his head.
But the winner was the Department of Homeland Security for detaining British International Development Minister Shahid Malik at Dulles Airport -- ostensibly because he is Muslim -- and searching him for explosives as he arrived in the U.S. to meet with... the Department of Homeland Security.

There are times when I think Keith just sounds like the flip side of the perpetually outraged right wingers but then he comes roaring back with the fun and humor necessary for coping with the crap.. I hope he doesn't let up when whoever passes for democrats gets elected.
O'Reilly's on Fox, isn't he? Then he should have gotten that "Barack Obama's not appearing on any Fox News program since we slimed him and called him 'B. Hussein Obama' in a not to thinly veiled attempt to connect him to Saddam Hussein" memo a few months ago.
That's why he went on Tyra Banks's show and not the Falafel Man's "Always Spin" Zone.
Even "Morning Joe" Scarborough called out O'Reilly on his pettiness. So, he really should have gotten the Silver or the Gold, instead.

After all of that was done, I wonder if they made him sew a yellow moon on his jacket before he left.
I remember the first time Shahid Malik was stopped and searched/roughed up as a lot of my brown/black/Muslim friends who are all very chilled out just stopped going to the US.
I'm Caucasian, blonde hair, blue eyes etc ...... and I got grilled for an hour by homeland security last year popping over the border to Seattle ......... and why ......... because I used my British passport that has a stamp to Cuba in it, asked loaded questions called "boy", accused of being a drug runner, being threatened with my being locked up while they torn my car apart etc.
I can only cringe at what it's like for the guys that the racist america targets.

A Polish gentleman, hoping to emigrate to Canada, landed at Vancouver International Airport. He was detained for over 10 hours. Held in a small locked room, questioned and not allowed to sleep. When he was released from that room he was understandably upset. He threw a garbage can, he was ranting in Polish. The police claim to have tried to calm him down. Unfortunately, they had no interpreter!! Instead, they used their tasers. Four policemen, one UNARMED man. Four blasts from the taser. The man died. A passerby got it all on his video phone. The police confiscated the video, claiming that they'd return it after reviewing it. The next day the man was told that they would not be returning the video.
