Check this out from the Tournament of Roses Parade on KTLA5!
Way to go! I'll send this to Rep. Wexler.

This has gotta be a first for the Rose Parade! Well done!
Enough already! Put your efforts toward something more productive. Bush will not be impeached.
Don't forget to include Dennis Kucinich! He has been calling for impeachment for a lot longer!
Unfortunately, the people with the signs aren't members of Congress, and by the time regular voters get another chance to make their voices heard it will be too late.
Rob @ 2:
Yeah, well there's nothing wrong with our wanting Congress to do its job and reminding them that they should be doing their jobs is our job.
Kucinich said it, I will spam it tonight...
at 7pm eastern time on World of Warcraft server Whisperwind will be a Ron Paul march!!!!
I am not that crazy about Ron Paul but I'm going to spam "Impeach then now!" and "Defund the Military Industrial Complex"
Most progressives think Ron Paul will somehow eliminate the social programs we have fought so hard for...I think he is the best chance at shrinking the M.I.C., something my first choice Edwards won't do!!! For sure not the Clinotn or Obama teams!!
Rob,
Keep your powder dry I heard the same thing about Agnew then Nixon until they were
gone, outta here and I ,for one, wouldn't mind a remake with new clowns but the same
ending. Back then they presented themselves as above the reach of the law
Rob @ 2:
or "when the going gets tought the tought...quit?" that doesn't make sense. We want hearings and we will not give up until there are hearings. That's the American way...fight! and keep on fighting until you win! if the Republicans can stay the course on something has hopeless and disasterous as Iraq then I believe we should stay the course on demanding impeachment hearings.
If not us, who? if not now, when?
I watched,I saw and I love "Freedom of Expression"....nice work 'Impeach' people and thanks.
Back in the 60's this is all the Main Stream Media ever covered. Protests and exposing government scams and corruption.
Since the media consolidation act and takeover by the Corps forget it. In case you haven't noticed.
Outstanding!
tought? what the hell is thought...I guess I should have done a spekk Checll
Impeach. Indict. Imprison.
...and our government?
Repeal. Restore. Reduce.
Best o' luck to Kucinich, Edwards and Paul.

L.A. Confidential @ 10:
Now instead of Bush/Cheney the Media goes after Natalie Maines.
Rob @ 2:
Those protesters probably know that too but unlike Nancy "Impeachment is off the Table" Pelosi, they are not content with just doing nothing. My hat's off to them, they're patriots. Which is more that an be said for many, if not most, members of congress.
Little Bushboy, if he does finish his "term", should finish it to a constant chorus of "Impeach Him" and a permanent state of investigation of the multitude of very real, very pertinent crimes that he and the Cabal have committed against American democracy!
He lied, he should be tried!
L.A. Confidential @ 10:
Relax, now that the NYT hired William the Bloody the playing field will be nice and level /snark.
IMPLUM! No, wait...
You know, if those people had just organized a little... 90° back to back... that way one sign would always be readable in whichever camera angle. Next time. Take note protesters (though I still like the cajones of the two kids that were first in line at the Thanksgiving shopping with the impeach T-shirts... pretty clever).
Pelosi and Reid wouldn't dare say the "I" word.
Here's the Arab Media Groups predictions for 08
1. World oil prices to hit $175 even if growth slows
2. UK economy likely to go into a nosedive
3. S&P500 falls 25% from its 2007 high to 1,182
4. Grain prices to double again as demand rises
5. Many of the big US home builders to go bankrupt
6. Chinese equities likely to see correction next year
7. Ron Paul elected President of the United States
8. A stellar year ahead for Swedish kronor
9. SGD to fall further before rising against US dollar
10. Hungarian forint rises to 275 against euro
That's the ole college spirit.
#15-Ruthless People
Very well said. Article II Section 4 of a document called the U.S. Constitution does not state that Congress may impeach. On the contrary, it says that Congress SHALL [my emphasis] impeach those officials in office who have committed "high Crimes and Misdemeanors." If ever an administration deserves to be publicly accused of their crimes, it is the current administration that is now residing in the White House.
Captain America @ 19:
Which one? Illegal, illicit, investigate, improper, illegitimate, impeach, incarcerate?
None of the above, I'd venture.
chlorocardium @ 16:
How could he be convicted of lying when most democrats were saying the same thing? This is why they won't move forward on impeachment.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePb6H-j51xE
Rob@2 What the hell do you mean enough already? Its not fucking enough! This entire administration should be at the Hague. Maybe according to you we should lay back down and let these evil cocksuckers continue to just trample all over us like the last seven years. I say FUCK them [deleted]
Erroll @ 22:
It just blows my mind that we had Republican congress ready to overthrow a twice democratically elected president simply because he was a Democrat over something that was not a constitutional crisis yet we have Democratic congress afraid of a president with the lowest approval ratings in US history who has thumbed it's nose at the constitution time and time again. If the Democrats don't have the back bone to go after THIS president over his numerous high crimes then who would they impeach, when and under what possible circumstances would they uphold their constitutional duties of impeachment?
No wonder congress polls just about at low as Bush, I'm not surprised.
Rob @ 2:
There is nothing more productive at a Rose Bowl Parade than free speech. Unless you call standing there clapping "productive."
Rob@2 wouldn't have supported our Revolutionary War, either. But then neither would most current "Americans."
Good for these folks.
I'm still surprised they didn't get tasered, though.
L.A. Confidential @ 10:
And the American people rolled right over. The only time you can get people out on the streets is over a sports game or a bad episode of American Idol.
Question Blog @ 6:
Ron Paul isn't going to defund the MIC, he'll just take away programs like federal meat inspection and stuff like that.
Good on them.
I saw the impeachment signs this morning on TV on the Rose Bowl parade. Priceless. Thanks for posting the photo!
L.A. Confidential @ 10:
News then vs "news" now http://www.jibjab.com/originals/what_we_call_the_news
unitary executive theorists need to be urinated on
If I were a congress critter from Southern California, I'd be getting pretty nervous about my job come November, especially if I turned on my TV to watch the TOR parade and saw those impeachment signs. That means that they've called my office, faxed, emailed, and raised holy hell to get my attention about impeaching Bush and Cheney.
Unfortunately for Southern California, the ones who can do something about impeachment (Waters, Watson, Richardson) have their hands tied by Pelosi, while the rest (Rohrbacher, Harmon, Doolittle) have their wagons hitched to the Bush Cabal and can't do a damned thing.
But, it's good to remind them we're watching their asses and are quite prepared to do something about their inaction in November.
Signs, signs, everywhere the signs, shouting out a message to resign, do this, do that, now, cant you READ the SIGNS?
jr @ 35:
I second that motion.
...
Rob @ 2:
Why do I feel like that's the equivalent of saying, "Forget about Osama, he's been marginalized"?
Do we live by the rule of law or do we not? The president and vice president have repeatedly broken the law and are guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. I don't care if they have less than a week in office, just as I don't care if Osama is ineffectively livng out his last days in a cave, the law is the law and a crime is a crime. None of them should be allowed to go free without prosecution and imprisonment.
And really, if it was your loved ones who had died, would you really be saying, "enough already", knowing that the ones who committed the crimes against your loved ones are still free to continue hurting others?
Investigate, Indict, Impeach, Imprison!
The news noted this and also noted that they and others were loudly booed by the crowd.
Dont forget where you live. Bush was appointed by the SCOTUS, but a HUGE number of people voted for this thug, not once but twice.
They will never simply say ... oops, we made a mistake. They will always see you as the enemy ... yes, enemy.
goatsage @ 23:
Nope, none of those. But they do seem to have taken a particular liking to the word "inert".
Veritas78 @ 28:
You came to the conclusion that I would not support the Revolutionary War because I believe that supporting the impeachment of Bush is a waste of time. What a brilliant mind you are. Below is a list of democratic politicians you can contact to help you on your campaign to remove Bush from office. Let them try to convince the majority that Bush lied about Iraq. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePb6H-j51xE
Rob @ 2:
Exactly. Dems and ReTHUGs will NOT eat one of their own. Clinton must have been truly despised by both parties to have what happened, happen. Only reasoning I can see.
[What a baby you are. I'm surprised you didn't resort to your usual racist-based name calling. Go away. Otherwise, you're just a moron who hangs out in a place you hate-Sitemonitor]
Question Blog @ 6:
He doesn't support ANY international warcrimes law, and he sponsored an amendment authorizing George Bush to attack Holland if the ICC arrested any American official or soldier.
The suggestion that he would stop anything (or have a chance of winning) is hilarious. He also supports pollution, the coal industry, the nuclear industry, unregulated development, no response to global climate change, and a return to bigotry as the national standard. Our hero.
I saw them on the TEEVEE. NBC.
Rob @ 2:
Agreed, but having that be part of the national conversation is still worthwhile. It lets these treasonous bastards know how many of us feel.
Nancy Pelosi marched in the Rose Bowl parade. She was carrying a sign that displayed 5 words in BIG letters:
"IMPEACHMENT IS OFF THE TABLE"
Finally, SOMETHING that MEANS SOMETHING for this new year parade!
How can any of us "feel good" about the new year knowing that bush and cheney and the low-life that support them STILL have a stranglehold on this nation and are ordering the advancement of atrocity in OUR NAME? Go out and celebrate? nahhh... not tonight... let me know when bush and cheney, rice, rummy, wolfowitz, and the rest of them go before a world court... I'll buy drinks for the house on THAT day.
ConcernedCanuck @ 43:
We don't have the votes for conviction, which is why it is off the table. Otherwise, we are 30 votes shy in the House, which means that something like 200 House Democrats support impeachment right now.
And the overwhelming majority of those understand why impeachment has been off the table. It should be obvious to anyone by now that the Senate is a 25-75 split.
Ruthless People @ 15:
No kidding. By definition, what they did WAS productive. Look at all the conversation it generated here, and most of us even already agree... think of all people that see the broadcast in their homes (that may not have though about impeachment before)... now some of them might get involved too. They are the idea of 'seeds of change'.
Very productive. Even if it wasn't -- hey, at least they are out walking in the sun and watching a parade!
Too bad they'll now be added to "the list". Oh well. Such is life in the the Homeland of the Emperor. I must remember to act as shocked and surprised when they "disappear" as the other drones appear to be.
hope @ 41:
Speaker Pelosi broke all Congressional records for number of roll call votes held, requiring a five-day work week which has in part led to the virtual resignations of 25 or so Republicans.
She raised minimum wage, funded Katrina relief, increased Pell grants, passed GLB protection in the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, passed bills supporting returning veterans, blocked the delisting of endangered species, and helped remove a considerable number of unqualified cronies from the gov't.
These are some of my friends who protested the Rose Bowl, for which they had to wait almost two days outside (luckily it didn't rain), and I applaud their effort.
Jared @ 3:
kucinich just lost my vote and money!!!!!!!!hes throwing his caucus votes to obama! says obamas as close to his ideas the rest!!!!!!!!!!!r.i.p dennissssssssssssss
swarmofkillermonkeys @ 51:
Almost all of those protesters have been on the list since 2001 or earlier -- they protest every week, for years now.
Whew! I'm just glad there were no BONG HITS FOR JESUS signs!
Paul in LA @ 50:
Heard it over and over Paul. And yet, people are STILL saying, "vote overwhelmingly Dem and this will change, or that will change."...right......conviction? Means nothing. Dems need to at least make an attempt, just to show hey we are listening to the electorate. Are they? Nope. But they sure are quick at sending out those "please send us donations" emails. I know, I've received many. And I'm from Canada. No wonder they can't impeach, they don't even know who their electorate are.
ConcernedCanuck @ 56:
Hilarious. Attempting impeachment and failing is a NEW MANDATE, buddy.
If we get through next year, and Bushco doesn't burn Iran to the ground, and if they turn over power, Speaker Pelosi is going to be recognized by historians as one of the primary reasons.
She does not deserve to be lumped in with the DLC or with Harry Reid. Her record is STERLING, and her reasons for putting impeachment off the table two thirteen months ago are fairly easy to understand, leftist desire to run at windmills in order to feel good about themselves notwithstanding.
I do support impeaching Cheney, because Reid has lost (his limited) control of the agenda. And it will force R candidates to run with the albatross around their necks.
Here's who you are running down:
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Nancy_Pelosi
One of the most Progressive politicians in U.S. history.
L.A. Confidential @ 20:
Ron Paul president? is that a prediction or a wish?
Great Guerrilla Marketing idea by those people, btw.
An investigation would lift the veil on this criminal enterprise. People have a right to know, ask Jefferson. Also, regardless of outcome, it is the right thing to do.
There really isnt anything more important.
We need Nancy 'Quixote' Pelosi.
ConcernedCanuck @ 56:
Apparently you think that Speaker Pelosi addressed the email to you.
According to the critics, including the foreign ones, the U.S. is a dog with two eyes and a tail, and every Democrat and the party itself is responsible for any action by any Democrat.
anon @ 59:
The 'veil' was lifted YEARS ago, by the Democratic membership of the committees. Chairman Conyers published a book which listed his committee's proof of at least 25 major federal crimes by Bushco.
An impeachment trial would not 'reveal' more facts -- other than the fact that most of the evidence beyond those earlier revelations is now missing.
Paul in LA @ 50:
"It should be obvious to anyone" that to impeach a malevolent administration is incumbent upon Congress to do so because of something called Article II Section 4 of a document called the U.S. Constitution, not because of the doubt that impeachment will then automatically lead to conviction in the Senate. As I stated at comment #22, the Constitution does not say that Congress may impeach, it categorically states that Congress SHALL [my emphasis] impeach when it is so warranted, and the current administration certainly merits that dubious distinction.
Paul in LA @ 61:
Wrong. This doesnt exist until it is on the evening news every night for a month. The inaction by the democrats in the congress is often cited as evidence that this is not criminal, but political.
In anycase, a clever triangulation can never trump the truth. But the truth must be known to have effect. I dont believe it is - isolated small numbers of individuals not withstanding.
anon @ 63:
The media is not covering the crimes, now, or later -- in case you haven't noticed.
The crimes are exposed, long ago. The media? Absolutely nothing.
This is a big part of the reason why Kerry's campaign was supposedly weak -- the media did a hatchet job on him, without any of the mild efforts at balance that we all used to count upon.
It's a coup -- and you cannot remove a coup with a failed conviction.
Erroll @ 62:
The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
anon @ 63:
Good points that you brought up. What Paul in L.A. never addresses is the message that foregoing impeachment would have on another criminal administration that would take up residence in the White House and that would be that they would believe that if the Bush administration was able to get away with their transgressions, then a future malevolent government would feel, justifiably, that their actions would not be held accountable by congress, certainly not a congress that, like the current pusillanimous congress, is willing to tolerate and condone whatever misdeeds the executive branch is willing to commit.
Jeannie See @ 5:
HAHA.....yeah well, keep voting for more of the same. Voting for Democrats isnt going to change anything. Thank Pelosi for that. She took impeachment off the table long ago. Harry Reid is doing an awesome job at doing nothing as well. Impeachment should have been the first order of action after the last election. In case nobody noticed....we are still in Iraq even after the Dems said they would end the war. I really wish people would stop jocking the Democrats. Politics isnt "my team is better than yours". REPUBLICANS SUCK!
Paul in LA @ 60:
Something you haven't quite figured out Paul, at least from my reading your posts on here. Um. Attacking people that don't agree with your Dem Party 100% in a sanctimonious way will not help you win any elections. You can stick up for them all you want, it doesn't make it true to anyone except you. The current Dems have enabled Bush to do anything he wants, and if you take off the blinders, you will see that. Don't make excuses because that does not get you votes. Especially from someone that can't vote in your election anyway. LOL.
Oh, Brother! @ 44:
[Still a baby. And a liar to boot. And apparently the moron I took you for when you posted as oh brother. And the name calling! Do you touch your loved ones with the hands that type out all that filth? Poor them-Sitemonitor]
tyree @ 53:
I am extremely disappointed, too! Extremely!
CoIntelPro @ 69:
Yeah, what's up with this? I watched the debates and read up on their different platforms but I must have missed something big time if Obama's ideas are closest to Kucinich's.
Paul in LA @ 57:
I think I follow your reasoning and it is truly scary and makes Pelosi look sane:
1) Impeach either boosh or cheney and eventually it winds up in the senate with LIEberman and Feinstein and the DLC/DSCC. the failure to convict will establish permanent legal precedent for the crimes these two are responsible for. BAM! Dictatorship will be permanently legally established and the supreme court will certify it.
L.A. Confidential @ 10:
In case you haven't noticed, this thread was brought to you by the msm, going out of its way to incorporate the (totally unrelated)protests at the rose parade into its story. Sad as it is that the protesters have to go where the people are instead of being able to generate interest in their cause by themselves, I think it's highly dubious to assert that the msm is one-sided. It all comes down to whose ox is being gored.
CoIntelPro @ 69:
If this is true, this would seem to indicate that Kucinich may be replicating what he did in 2004, when he backed Kerry for president, whose views on the war should have been seen by Kucinich as anathema to his position on the Iraq War. Kucinich's actions could be seen now as a reason to support the Green Party candidate, who could be former Democrat Cynthia McKinney.
Paul in LA @ 54:
lol
What a scary "list" indeed, then.
I was at the Rose Parade, and the impeachment signs were a great thing to behold.
But because of pusillanimous pipsqueaks like Pelosi and Reid, it won't happen. Bush will skate scot-free all the way to Paraguay.
Kooch might still be mad at Edwards for the way he and Hillary tried to knock him out of the debates. He needs those debates because, as little time as he gets, he still needs all the free air-time he can grab. Me? I'm with Dennis, at least until after the Virginia primary, when I go back to doing other things. Depending on who ends up with the nomination (on the off chance it's not Dennis) some of us intend to set up a write-in campaign for Kucinich, with a slate of electors.
Paul in LA @ 52:
Seriously, I sure do hope that you are on her payroll, it would be a sad thing if you were such a tool from Pelosi for free. Alas, it is just funny to see you do your routine of shilling with the internet equivalent of "lookie at the monkie over there..."
HAPPY NEW YEAR?What is there to be happy about? Why should we be happy while our puppets in power spread havok throughout the world? But this is the season of the bowl games which tend to keep many fans in a festive mood.I find the names of these bowl games rather disgusting. All of them, like the names of prfessional sports fields and arenas are named for big corporations. We have the Chick-Fil-A bowl, the A T&T cotton bowl, the Meineke Car Care bowl and my favorite the Bell Hellicopter Armed Forces bowl. But we should not forget the biggest bowl game, THE OIL BOWL.There are too many corporate sponsors to put one name on it,Halliburton,Shell,KBR,Blackwater,ConnocoPhillips,BP,Carlyle, etc. The matchup is not even as fare as the New England Patriots vs.Barstow Junior High.Right now the Patriots hold a huge lead, somewhere over a million to 4 thousand. It's hard to tell what quarter this game is in,but I tend to think it's still in the 1st.You would think that the underdogs do not stand a chance, but sometimes in a long drawn out hard fought game the underdog can wear out the much stronger opponent and come back to win.You won't find this game on T.V. So if you get fed up during the FedEx bowl get online and check out the score ."to the victor goes the spOILs".(I was happy to see the large protests at the rose parade.IMPEACH NOW)Peace, Out
Great signs! OK folks, time to get our pitchforks and torches and march to reclaim the White House as the people's house!
ConcernedCanuck @ 56:
Right you are.
Last Friday I received a call at work from the Dems. Asking for... you guessed it - money.
I said no and the caller began to "sell" me that we have the opportunity to elect 15 more repesentatives and many senators due to recent Republican resignations. Again I said no. Then I said that I give to individual candidates and that I use Blue America to do so.
Again, she tried to "persuade" me. It was when I very coolly said, "When impeachment is on the table", that SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
Did I say that she preceded her sales pitch to me by saying "This call may be monitored for quality control purposes" ?
I have no idea why my comment is blue??
[Because there is a tag that was left off that closes the link back to the post you quoted. I fixed it-Sitemonitor]
LOL
the bush league bunch should be impeached and tried for high crimes . but with Harry Reid putting Joe Lieberman in a postion to stop all senate investigation and Nancy Pelosi abdicating her duty to start impeachment proceedings, i doubt this will happen.we have to vote for democrats that love the country and the constitution more than all the perks of the job.
Today's New York Times editorial outline the crimes of the Bush administration in no uncertain terms but rather than impeachment, they call for the next administration to prosecute the malefactors. We all know this will never happen. I read over 10 pages of comments and almost all congratulate the Times for, finally, getting it, if at least 4 years late, but something like half of those also ask "So why aren't you calling for impeachment?" . The people are angry and the people are ready. When impeachment is put on the Judiciary Committee table Jan 8, let's let Wexler plop down at least 250,000 signups on his petition..
I know a lot of people believe that unless the outcome is guaranteed to be conviction and removal from office, it will be a waste. I totally disagree. I think that politically it will fall out just as it did for Nixon, that is repubs, knowing their own complicity in the crimes and and the publics outrage at not just what the real crimes but also the mismanagement of everything (Iraq, vets, mortgage meltdown, dollar devaluation, etc), will go to cheney and demand he resign. Bush himself will probably not be impeached, although likely censured, and a Hagel or someone equivalent will be confirmed as vp. This process will only help the dems in the fall. The people want it and bloggers can help make it happen. Urge everyone to make real noise about Wexler’s petition this week. Thanks.

What is actually sad, Dude, is that you're not Jeff Bridges.
