Yah for the whole WORLD!!!!
The Longest Year
I won't be satisfied until Bush and Cheney pay a price for all their wrong doing.
U.S. will be owned by Saudi Arabia by then.
In honor of this historic milestone, let me be the first to say what a dick he is.
We don't get real representation until we kick out the folks who control GW's strings.

Anyone else paying attention to the massive election fraud happening in the various primaries?
Too bad we wouldn't have to wait an entire year if the Dems would actually hold his administration accountable for all of his crimes against country and Constitution. The injustice is irreconcilable.
"George W. Bush has one more year."
...then some dumb Democrat gets to look like the bad guy for staying in the Iraq quagmire, or (much less likely) for exiting Iraq and letting the place collapse.
I wish the title of this post was:
Unless we succumb to the post-Iran strike Stock Market crash martial law from now till then...

George Bush smooths path for Hillary
BUSH administration officials are paving the way for a smooth transition to a possible Democratic presidency as Hillary Clinton consolidates her position as the overwhelming favourite to win her party’s nomination for the 2008 election.

Ummmmmmmm..........notice the date people??????????!!!!!!!!! Who says things are gonna change when Mrs Bill is selected?

Some peoples choice will be to pay the bills or feed the family!
You know, I feel sorry for Bush. Maybe it's just my empathy for a man stuck in the middle of such harsh criticism or the fact that he and others that advise or work for him have a conscience - that they have to live with the rest of their lives brooding on eight years in the White House. What they did, what they are going to do and what, if any, realization that maybe, just maybe they could try to correct some wrongs. I could see some of that mentality when he visited Israel for the first time while president. Maybe he's realized that the White House has goofed up too many times and overlooked serious problems, one of which is the most obvious (Israeli and Palestinian conflict).
I just hope people won't be harsh him as much after the 44th is sworn in (Hillary). It's easy to beat a man down when he's already on the ground. Of course, the neo-cons have beat many up as well but reciprocating violence does not create a better world. That's what the whole idea of compassion and empathy for fellow humans regardless of what they did to us.
Anyway, hope the last year is better than the previous seven.
- J
I hope not!

Thats why the Military will be booming.

They have prisons where they can reflect on what they did for the last seven years.
Glad you posted it John. Hopefully, this will be the fastest year flying by on record and if we're lucky, the moron in chief will be forced to leave before his time is up.
tyree @ 21:
Sure puts to rest the election fiasco. I mean when a sitting president (hahahaha..what a joke THAT is) begins hiring staff for the new president, who hasn't even been chosen by her supposed party members, well..........
That's actually 5 more years if one of the top candidates is elected.

And the privatized prison system!

But isn't that an insult to dicks everywhere?
I'd get excited ,but we still have 364 more to go.not too mention all of the leftovers this dimwit will leave us.
Ron @ 27:
Like someone is going to persecute the former president of United States. I'd like to see that spectacle. Dream on. As long as America is a superpower with lots and lots of nukes and has a huge military, there will not be a single court in the world that would dare imprison the POTUS. There are just too many supporters and too many people would be wanting blood for it.
If there ever was a court proceeding, it would have to be done in the American justice system, with American judges. However, even if there was a conviction, the current POTUS would pardon him.
It's unrealistic.
milquetoast @ 33:
They don't need a terror attack. The economy will finish us off.
tyree @ 34:
Let's pray that he does get the visits at least 5 times a night after the way he has raped our democracy.

Obviously he outsmarted Bush Co every step of the way.
The damage has been done. We need more than for them to just leave office. We need a major overhaul of our media, our election system, our foreign policy, monetary policy etc. This isn't funny. We have a lot of work to do if we want to survive as a sovereign nation.

OR........nobody vote. at all. none. What are they going to do? Voting is the ONLY impact anybody has on "democracy" any more, and who do you vote for? I see people saying "vote Billary" "vote Obama" "vote Edwards" but in reality, most want to vote for ANYONE THAT ISN'T REPUBLICAN. So they hold their collective noses and vote. Oh the stench. I know, been there done that. My country has no damn leaders either. And when you ask your friends or neighbours or relatives "why did you vote for__" most say well it was either him/her, or that other moron, and I voted for the lesser of two evils.
I do my homework @ 51:
preachin to the choir mon!
Ok, in a year Bush will probably be gone. A new corporate media approved (read corporate approved) President will take office. The same corporate goals will be in place, the same corporate controlled economy will be in place and the same corporately compliant House, Senate and Judiciary will be in place.
Gee, i can't wait.
maybe his dog will trip bush sometime.........SOON !

well, he HAS been quite a success at whatever he wanted to do and look what has happend to this country...
everything his grandfather wanted to accomplish with ford and hitler has pretty much come to pass...

One more year if he escapes impeachment that is.

Rhodes of Rhodes Scholar = Cecil Rhodes whose foundation formed the Brtish RIIA and the American counterpart Council on Foreign Relations (Barrack's wife works for them).
All of the Democratic and Republican candidates that aren't being censored by the media are blessed by the CFR.
Cecil was one of the richest dudes on the Globe . .. . Rhodesia was named after him . . . he left a pile of money that created a foundation that has been trying to realize his vision of a one world government.
Its not a conspiracy theory . . . its GD history . . . stop watching survivor and do a little research.

I am more interested in seeing you going.
LA Confidental @66-You are sooooo right. Yea-great who cares. We get rid of Bush, and we get next another Corporate Creep President to take the reins. Take Your Pick: John McCain, Mitt Romney, Hillary Clinton, Barach Obama. Don't expect much because they will all be a prototype of Bush. Not much of a difference than what you have now. The only difference is that anyone that votes for the jerks listed above will be to blame for 4 more miserable years of Bushes policies! Is there anyway out of this mess??? ARe we in hell and just don't know it??
We have sooo much to look forward to. After Bush gets out we'll either get four more years of John McCain and Mike Huckabey as VP. Or better yet Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman as VP!!!
If you, bluegal, and others would get behind the impeachment effort (instead of sorta standing on the sidelines), we can make that year actually productive for progessive politics. It is only by holding these criminals up to public condemnation that we will establish enough trust in the govenment to get the majority of Americans to buy into single payer, immediate withdrawl for Iraq and progressive taxes to get us out of the looming economical meltdown.
There is nothing to celebrate. After 2004, I gave up on this country. It's run by idiots because for the most part it's filled with idiots who'd rather watch "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" than figure out what's going on in the world. Things will pretty much stay the same under a democrat, then another Bush will get elected in 4 to 8 years and we'll just keep on moving towards the 13th century.
80 leslie Says:
Well Pelosi has been spewing that bs for quite some time but that hasn't stopped Kucinich, Wexler, and many, many others so we'll see what happens.
The second to the last paragraph in the Independent article:
"The new occupant of the Oval Office can but hope today's dislike for America is directed at a leader, not at a country. That may well be, but one thing is for sure. Never again will the US occupy that extraordinary position of supremacy – military, moral and economic – that it held in the interlude between the demise of Communism and the attacks of September 2001."
Ain't that the truth. George Bush (and his enablers in the last GOP Tom Delay congress, media, talk radio, etc..) has single handedly brought America down. Osama BinLaden must be estastic!
It's going to be a long year. We should start now organizing a massive party on the national mall in Washington to show the world we are just as happy that this son of a bitch is leaving office as they are. Imagine an unpresidented display of hundreds of thousands of Americans on the National Mall actually celebrating a president leaving office! It would also signify a apology to the world for inflicting these ruthless bastards upon the global community.
