Kilmeade wanted to make sure he wasn't misunderstood, though — he is firmly against pantsuits. "If I was to run for office, I'd run on the pro-skirt platform," he said

Back in the early '70s I led a group of women who lobbied our employer for the 'right' to wear pants to work. When we finally prevailed, one of the execs (a nice man, but in his late 50's and very traditional) said to me, 'I just think women are more attractive in skirts.'' I responded that it was not my job to look attractive, it was my job to act and look professional. He paused and said, 'You're right.' And never mentioned it again.

I've been watching cable news for hours since I got home from work tonight and haven't heard about it. But there are hundreds of other stories out there like that. Kosovo, for example. While under the watchful eye of NATO’s Kosovo Forces since 1999, more than 150 Serbian Orthodox churches and monasteries have been destroyed or desecrated, yet the U.S. has recognized this narco-criminal state as the newest nation in Europe. Go figure.
There's a way -- actually, two -- to avoid this sort of Fox Non-news:

Kilmeade's comments are not surprising, but they are revealing, and sexism is par for the course at Fox (and on some MSNBC shows). The most obnoxious part is Kilmeade's implicit assertion that women should dress to please him. Yeah, it's just a little banter, but Kilmeade is a complete douchbag.

Just got home and the first thing I hear on the news is that Hillary is comparing Obama to Ken Starr. WTF? They say she wants sympathy because of the hard times she went through. i wonder how many people type, and re-type and re-type their resignation papers over there and how many women in particular go to every OTHER network and local affiliates before they hold their noses and finally crawl over to faux.
When I was in college, late 1970s, I signed up for a badminton class. The male instructor said that the male students could wear whatever they wanted to class, but the female students MUST wear shorts "because girls aren't used to moving freely in pants."
I protested to the (male) department head, who shrugged. He didn't see what the "fuss" was about.
This was at Ball State University, which at the time had two gymnasiums on campus--the old, broken down one where plaster fell from the ceiling into the swimming pool, and had to be removed from the water twice daily, and a beautiful new gym with all state-of-the-art everything, including an Olympic size pool. The signs out front said "Girls' Gym" and "Men's Gym," respectively. Notice that the female students not only had all of the single-sex physical education classes in the old, run-down facility, but also that female students were "girls" and male students were "men," even though they were the same age.
I don't want to go back to that era of sexism.
