The Gridiron Dinner And The Date From Hell

The annual Gridiron dinner occurred this past weekend in Washington D.C., and while the main focus was on the entertainment, here's a tidbit we were struck by in the Washington Post's "Reliable Source" column: Ann Coulter attended the event with Bob Novak -- as his date. The Prince and Princess of Darkness? Sounds like a match!
No word on whether the couple was espied holding hands, or gazing into each others' eyes, or making a mad dash for the backseat of a cab. So, you'll just have to use your imagination.
We don't have a category for Ewww, so I chose torture instead. Can you imagine the dinner conversation? A nightcap perhaps? Novakula and Coultergeist sittin' in a tree... *shudder*

A couple of times a year I find myself on a plane from O'Hare to Champaign with Novak (and/or George Will), two alumni from the U of I. Novak in the gate area at O'Hare is like a dyspeptic caged lion, stalking and glaring, but his family is pleasant enough, especially his spouse whose picture would define 'long-suffering' were it ever to be captured in a dictionary. His son is kind of a dick to people around him, like his dad is (what would you expect from someone who works at Regnery Press?), but his wife is also nice.
Funny, though, that George Will never travels with his wife du jour or other family members, at least not to his alma mater.

Novak converted years ago from Judaism, and consequently, is "perfected", a term that Man Coulter had spewed months ago. I guess that is how he probably got his perfect date with his new best beau, Man Coulter. Hope Novak's wife doesn't find out.
