C&L's Late Nite Music Club with Scofield Medeski Martin & Wood

I love MMW and when you add John Scofield to the mix, well---it's a funky good time. I wouldn't mind putting down a few tunes like this. It's invigorating.

This is a great record: A Go Go: "Chank"

First!

..and love JS plus MMW

Grand Larceny from Sea Level's first.

I am a Scofield fan -- been listening to him since the 70s back when he and Coryell did some things together. Thanks for posting this...

Ya, but who wants to see John Scofield get out of a car with no underwear?

Anybody know what kind of chorus effect he's using?

Hey john. I remember about a year ago or so you linked to Frank Zappa's Alien Orifice. I just went looking for that again tonight, and as it turns out someone has UL'd several selections from Zappa's Halloween 1981 Palladium show that the clip was from.

here's the clip with Alien Orifice and Teenage Prostitute:

I just want to say thanks for turning me on to such a great musician as FZ. You'll find links to the other clips of that show on teh Yuotube.

feets..... be calm

too bad there isn't a planetary wake up tune list
to cool everyone out as they meet the new day...

Sco's tune 'Chank' would be on the playlist.....

;-)

very fun, john!! good to see you doing clln.

I keep this album on a playlist with Garage a Trois.

What - no Elvis and no Ella Fitzgerald?

Great choice, great album!. I play keys in a group that covers 'Hottentot' from this same album. It's a fun song.
I've covered MMW's version of 'Syeeda Song Flute'. Another good one.

Trio Beyond - Live in France 2006
Scofield(g), Goldings(org), DeJohnette(dr)
Play Miles Davis' It's About That Time

John Medeski playing melodica for kids in Peru.

For those who hadn't heard, these guys are officially a band together, as MSMW. They just released s sick new album called Out Louder.

sure prefer your music and commentaries over Howie's

me likey.

They smoke! Saw them a few years ago in Toronto.

Great stuff... A Go Go is probably my favorite jazz album of the 90s

madrone - Garage A Trois is amazing as well, Charlie can do no wrong =D

Check out Floratone too, a Frisell project.

Great choice! We went to see them in Boston w/John. The Wife was a little bored, I couldn't stop bobbing my head!

The vid's obviously fake.

Everyone is sitting down.

MMW: soul jazz for frat boys.

Folks, do yourself a BIG favor and go pick up a copy of "The Sermon" by The Incredible Jimmy Smith. Trust me on this.
