(h/t David Stephenson) In many communities in Africa, children can't attend school without a school uniform and are even chased away if they try to go to school without a uniform. Often girls don't get the opportunity to attend school that boys get, without support from outside organizations. Read more at The Girl Effect dot org.

Hi Cal :)
Hi, xoites. I wonder if this will be another one of those weird threads, eh. :-)
xoites defends Constitution @ 19:
You're probably right. I'm just testing P2B with a somewhat obscure cultural reference just like he does to me. That's one of the things I like best about the late night open thread. It's mental gymnastics time.
calgarylady @ 23:
I do hope so clady.
calgarylady @ 20:
Bill's couldn't be here tonight, but send their regards...
High, Clady?

Evening, all!
Alright, where's Ron?
Looks like we are going to need more money for the war on terror. We are going to have to get all those secret agents a car.
"More secret government files left on train: newspaper
7 hours ago
LONDON (AFP) — A second batch of secret government files have been found on a train, just days after intelligence on Al-Qaeda and Iraq were misplaced, according to a newspaper report.
The Independent on Sunday said it was handed papers covering government policy on fighting global terrorist funding, drug trafficking and money laundering after they were left on a train bound for Waterloo station Wednesday.
The disclosure came after the BBC was handed high-level files Tuesday on Al-Qaeda and Iraq that were marked "Top Secret" and "for UK/US/Canadian/Australian eyes only".
They were left on the seat of a commuter train at Waterloo."

Good evening, Ms Joanne. :)
Flying high tonight and ready to get down, 2b. Greetings to MsJoanne as well.
You know what else the girl effect is called - capitalism. It's a good thing.
Peter G @ 24:
We test each other because it tickles our prefrontals into full Monty's...in fact, you could call what we do test-...oh wait, there's ladies here tonite...well, Peter's very close to the subjects, so he'll get the hang of it...lol

My version of Getting Down is packing tonight. I leave for two weeks of biz trips in the AM.
Woo hoo! PAR-TAY!
I have yet to see Capitalism as a good thing.
Party business?
Proud2bHumble @ 34:
Low blow, dude.
Proud2bHumble @ 33:
Go ahead and say it: We're testiculating.
Obvious @ 32:
And it starts with socialistic sharing based on the basic philosophy of taking care of our fellow (wo)man...which is a capital non-capitalist approach that empowers the disadvantaged as opposed to taking advantage of their desperation to pay slave wages and reap huge profits, which is unbridled capitalism at it's most ideal and free, in practice.

MsJoanne @ 34:
Ah the joys of modern air travel. Soon we'll have to wear standard air travel attire: orange overalls and crocs.
Send this video to anybody you know who may be thinking of voting for McCain/Republican:

Nothing a couple teabags won't cure...lol

OK, us girls would like to see some first-class testiculating now. Or the Full Monty. Your choice.
Educating girls is one of the highest-leverage things one can do for the environment, because after a generation or two of educated women, the birth rate declines.
And there's too many people on this planet for all of us to be able to live well.
Peter G @ 38:
Not a phallacious statement on your parts...
;-}
Peter G @ 40:
Not that I should bitch, the only intimacy in my life is getting felt up by the TSA, but air travel these days is the worst. I wear a long jean skirt often and sometimes get pulled out because "I might have something under it" to which I always reply, I do, but it's none of your concern.
The best story (for our non-thinking fucking government officials), I forgot to bring a baggie (for my three ounce bottles) and they wouldn't let me take through a small bottle of hotel hand lotion. I pulled out some plastic bag I had in my purse, smaller than the one allowed, and they told me it has to be a one quart baggie which zipped. I looked at the guy and said, You have to be joking. It's in a plastic bag. It's a .2 oz think of hand cream! He told me I could go back through security again and they would allow it.
I looked at him and said, fuck it, keep it. Try thinking for a change. Have you no common sense?
I am going to be on the no travel list for my big mouth, but honestly, some of the policies are simply retarded.

Which brings me to my posting on Plentyoffish.com. " Looking for women with well developed frontal lobes." I either got the smart ones to reply or the less informed with large ta-tas. It worked on multiple levels.
calgarylady @ 43:
Can I get a hallelujah?! :-D
Peter G @ 49:
And what of us who have both?
joel hanes @ 44:
But overpop is great for the gluttonous plutocraps...I propose a two pronged approach, raising political awareness and economic guillotine guerrilla warfare...fight with the law for the people and cut off the heads of the snakes financially by whatever non-physically-violent means available.

Bush begs Brown not to leave. Oil companies won't
get in trouble if they murder polar bears. Americans are forced to cut back on the good stuff for Dad tomorrow. Bush loses another levee during his second term. Things are going so well in Iraq that a female suicide bomber ruined a soccer game. [Of course, some might spin it as her just being one of those hooligans...] Huckabee gets a job at Faux News. Unlike Larry Elder, other black conservatives are worried about self-hating
by voting McCain.

Peter G @ 58:
Alas, to find someone who thinks that. They love the DD's but the frontal lobe above the neck...a tad too intimidating at times (that I have a very direct, no bullshit approach to life, doesn't help either. I always say, do not ask what you don't care to know.)
The biggest problem with the video is that it doesn't fit in with the corporate agenda.
Proud2bHumble @ 62:
I'm here, hey over here.
MsJoanne @ 63:
I do confess that I was thirty before I realized women had eyes (it's a testosterone related condition) but eventually I realized that communing with dumb people of whatever sex results in near terminal boredom. Just to be clear, I make the distinction between educated and intelligent. I have many friends who lack formal education but are quite brilliant.
Proud2bHumble @ 62:
Of course you did. ;-D
Ron @ 65:
I'm here, hey over here.
'bout time!! Was gettin tired a carryin the loada crude all by myself ;-}
Ron @ 65:
Hey, shug!
Oovvverrr herrrreeeee!.
Hello Ron. We started the party without you.
MsJoanne @ 67:
Your usual net effect, then?
lol
MsJoanne @ 69:
Hi, how are ya sweetie.
Peter G @ 66:
Agreed completely! Education doesn't always produce intelligence (just look at Bush. Everything going for him but for a brain and a conscience).
And having gone out with the Adonis type - albeit rarely - all it took was once thinking, dude, just don't speak. That cemented it.
Now, I don't even look for good looking men (someone I find attractive is sufficient, and I am blessed with finding a lot of things attractive), for good looking people (of both genders) tend to get by on looks alone and lack the depth of personality I have a great appreciation for.
Proud2bHumble @ 72:
Pointless otherwise, no?
MsJoanne @ 75:
Beautiful people only can come from their heart.
Interesting counterpoint to the video clip at the top of the thread.

Legacy, hell...he sees it as the only way to get to nuke Iran. Capturing bin Laden would be his Proof of how his GWOT is successful and give him carte blanche to nuke the shit out of a sovereign nation.
See my comments in this thread: http://tpzoo.wordpress.com/2008/06/14/what-have-we-done/
That Bush gets a hard on thinking about this (McCain, Lieberman and the other neocon asswipes) makes me want to vomit.
MountainMan23 @ 77:
I could not get that to work properly. I did however have five hundred bucks in the Grameen bank. It's doing quite nicely and I have no intention of ever cashing it in. You see I do believe in capitalism.

I'd like to counter that you've certainly mentioned some very interesting and prominent points tonight, but that I'd rather you tabled those topics than make a molehill out of a mountain...haha
;-}
Happy Father's Day.
Ron @ 81:
Always. Although, I think I will be doing a little experiment in the next week - I will be completely offline (but for email). No blogs. No news. I am only going to watch corporate news for a few days (and yes, I already feel myself getting stupider).
I want to see what it is like to be informed solely by the corporate media.
Jared @ 82:
FANTASTIC book, Mr. Bugliosi wrote. That's going to be one of my upcoming blog entries.
Men have always been, er, hardwired to think with their heads, not their brains. Woman's ta-tas have played a large role in keeping this planet populated.
Yay for ta-tas ... double creamy lattes for everyone !
MsJoanne @ 90:
Oh Geezus, I pray for you.
Proud2bHumble @ 84:
Damn. You did get it. I hang my head in shame.
Someone please look this up since I am technically ignorant to do so. A touch off topic, but I’m imagining worth it.
Some time ago Bush kinda romanticized soldiers in Iraq, something like, “If I was younger I could see the adventure of going to Iraq and serve my country”. Of course many were all over that due to his AWOLiness while in the National Air Guard, and the position reserved for him so he could AVOID the adventure in Vietnam. I saw it maybe a month ago.
Last night I did a double take because of a McCain ad that starts with something very funny, I think, with regards to Bush & McCain relationship and Bush’s dreamy statement. I didn’t catch it exactly but McCain states,”Anyone who romanticizes war is a fool and a ????”. Then the scene switches and he continues to talk about how he doesn’t like war and blah blah blah.
If these two segments were put up together it would be halarious.
Someone please find these and blog it up, I think it’ll be precious.
