How would Limbaugh choose?
By John Amato Thursday Jul 10, 2008 11:50am
A lot has been made about John McCain's fumbling answer to a question about the fairness of insurance companies covering Viagra but not birth control.

I just love this video because it's one time that McCain's Media didn't have a chance to cover for him. Don't you think McCain should have answered the question? I mean it's simple enough, but I digress. I wonder---how do you think Rush Limbaugh would answer the same question? We know he likes his Viagra quite a bit, but would he be in favor of women getting fairly treated by the insurance companies also? Or would Limbaugh give up his little blue pills? Oh, never mind...

GAH!!!!!
Of course insurance companies should copver birth control...especially for any woman willing to have sex with that bloated asshole.
Limbaugh is porn for the reich-wing
She who gets in bed with a crocodile, a toad, a dog or a tadpole deserves what she gets.
Or maybe not.
I am reminded of the Gina Davis character's dream in the brilliant remake of the 'Fly' where she gives live birth to a huge maggot.
The film had at least one brilliant line about an insect politician.
No chance there.
Yeesh!!!
whoever covers oxycontin is fine with rush.
Was it shirley chisolm who said if men got pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament...
It's the patriarchy, stupids!
*cue the porn-ish slap bass*
hey baby, its ruussssh, and i am here solely to please you. lie back, relax, let me show you that when rush is in you, there is no rush, we'll just take our sweet time. now, now, easy there little darling, everything is going to be alright, just let me tend to your womanly needs.
*porn music fades out*
i taste bile... and i did it to myself.
Wow, that guy's got no business being on the resident advisory board of his retirement community much less potus. He wins, we're going down HARD!!
Just having a picture of that anti-American son of a bitch on the site demeans it.
Oh please. That idiot gets $40 million per year. He wouldn't need to give up anything.
Samson- @ 7:
You did it to the rest of us too, you sick SOB.
Rush doesn't care one way or the other. He gets his prescriptions filled in the parking lot behind Denny's.
The Sick Pervert and Lard-Ass Blimpaugh strictly uses his viagra to sexually abuse boys.
Btw, they've found out that watermelon has the chemical in it that Viagra does.
Possible over used phrase:
"but i digress". appears about about 3,190,000 ties in a Google search.
I think two million are here and on KOS.
I wonder if Limbaugh's pharmacist explained that Viagra ARE NOT suppositories?
I am for covering birth control, totaly for women's rights and equal treatment and all of that. I love women, I swear.
That said, the comparison isn't exactly apples to apples. Viagra returns a reproductive function makes procreation possible. Birth control stops a reproductive function that could be stopped by choice. I'm just saying, maybe that is why they (wrongly) justify it in their minds. I think they cover drugs for fertility, treatments that would make a woman more able to have sex, so maybe that is why Viagra is covered. I think the number of Viagra pills is limited on plans, so they are saying "enough to mate but not enough for recreation". Do you think there is a pro-life mentality involved?
Just a theory that came to mind when I heard the question.
I think if a doctor prescribes it for a patient then it should be covered. I know many women take it for many different reasons, and that should be between them and their doctor.
I'm glad Carly Florina brought up the subject, but I think that the Viagra yes, birth control no issue may be a myth. There are lots of insurance plans out there, lots of businesses with different work forces and needs etc.
bobbie @ 2:
Who says it's for his use with women? I hear it's for sport with little brown Central American rental boys.
notreallyabadguy @ 16:
I think you hit the nail on the head with that. If a physician prescribes it (anything) for medical reasons, it should be covered.
McCain To Support Morning-After Pill for Stupidity
I'm confused.
The last 3 insurers (including current) that covered me paid for BC pills, but *not* ED medications.
Something tells me this has been the exception to the rule?
Classic. Dems put that on an add and run it constantly.
There's definitely a "pro-life" mentality involved here. Last week's NY Times magazine did a piece on the popularity of multiple birth cable shows.
This piece calls it exactly what it is--a fertility cult.
I have to question whether or not birth control pills and Viagra is even a valid comparison.
It is my understanding that the ability to become pregnant is a condition that exists naturally in a healthy woman. While drugs like Viagra (at least theoretically) are supposed to treat sexual dysfunction.
If condoms were covered by insurance, while birth control pills were not, I can see a valid contradiction. Likewise if Viagra was covered , but not a similar prescription for vaginal dryness for example. But birth control pills are not intended treat sexual dysfunction, and Viagra is not intended to effect sperm count in men.
Granted, sex can be a precursor to pregnancy, they are not the same thing.
At least, not to me.
WWLD?
Joementum @ 11:
This has to be one of the funniest quotes I've read here. I have to say that I strongly feel that the normal name calling and rants (on both sides) accomplish nothing, but it has been awhile since I've been back to the States or thought of Denny's. Denny's: remember when we were 'bought' with "Grand Slams"? Now we've pharmcuticals (sp?) and tracking devices (IPHONE). I'm not sure about the association between McCain's discomfort and Rush's obsession (as a story), but I'll giggle all the same.
Limp-Dick Blimpaugh @ 12:
The originality here lately has just been extraordinary.
Who in their wildest dreams could've ever thought someone would mention viagra and little boys on a Rush Limbaugh thread?
Well done, sir.
Is he still having sex with teenage Dominican boys?
dennis @ 27:
Well well well....if it isn't ol' fancypants dennis herself.
Funny you should mention originality dennis. As you have not had one original post on this site that I've seen. Just Neo-Con talking points. DEBUNKED Neo-Con talking points to be exact.
How bout bringin somethin to the party.
You keep showing up empty handed...and that's just plain bad manners. Everyone knows that...except you obviously.
bert @ 28:
Haitian boys now. The poorest of the poor.
notreallyabadguy @ 16:
Exactly.
liberalNmoderation @ 29:
Don't be so hard on denice, he's a librul-voyeurist and can't help himself.
Dennis asks:
"Who in their wildest dreams could’ve ever thought someone would mention viagra and little boys on a Rush Limbaugh thread?"
I dunno, maybe Rudy's best childhood friend-best man at first wedding-arranger of first annulment-priest predator-predator cover upper-and employee of the month?
princess @ 27:
You sure have been complaining about "originality" today, yet you consistently C&P posts from other blogs.
Congrats, kettle.
I think I detect a tinge of jealousy in Dennis. Maybe Dennis is a closeted beauty that thinks his good looks alone would be all that was needed to arouse Rush.
I wonder if Dennis tingles at the same men as Tweety does?
Saint Augustine @ 36:
princess has Drugbaugh on speed dial when she needs a quick fix from her bloated Master.
Saint Augustine @ 36:
And tinkles with a wide-stance? Not that that's a BAD thing...
I'm glad to finally hear that Dennis and many Reslugs know and believe that Limp-Dick Blimpaugh is a very sick, sexual predater for any little boy.
When I watch the McCain squirming footage, it makes me think about men of a certain age and background. I don't think he's squirming over his voting hypocracy as such. He doesn't want to talk about VAGINAS. Men like him don't want to talk about them, don't know how they work, poor Cyndi 'cause he's likely never seen one up close. All that reproductive plumbing stuff is taboo and he wishes it would go away. That's likely why he votes against women's health care and such.
Limp-Dick Blimpaugh @ 39:
But, they still worship him because IOKIYAR
wasaperson @ 27:
I'd really hate to think of C&L becoming "dennis"'s Denny's.
Of course, McCain fumbled the answer. The eight second pause was probably somebody whispering in his ear bud what Viagra is FOR. It's been so long since Grampa had a boner, the last sexual aid he probably used was Spanish Fly.
Of course, with his ugly beer-heiress wife, I'm not sure he WANTS to get a woodie anytime soon....
mccain.....where's my telebrain(promter)
Limp-Dick Blimpaugh @ 39:
Damn, LDB, you are just on fire today. You really take your moniker seriously, don't you?
The whole Viagra vs. birth control pill issue misses the point. Both products are, for the most part, for both genders. I guess there are some masturbators and gay men who use Viagra, but I'm sure most Viagra (and related drugs) are used to help men pleasure women, often wives, in a way they may not otherwise be able to do. And birth control pills make the sex act less worrisome for both partners. So, while both products should be covered by insurance, I'd say, the fact that only one is isn't a gender-related issue.
Udon Nomee @ 25:
Not true. PCOS is infertility in women, and is ONLY treated with Birth Control pills. There are VALID reason to take BC other then for procreation prevention!
These insane Christian terrorists are suck tools. They hate everything the United States stands for, and these Christofawscists are constantly thinking of their fellow Christian fascists' votes when they search for an answer to questions they can't answer honestly. God damned fucking insane cultists!
Let's look at this issue like grown-ups, shall we?? The real issue in this case, as in most others, has to do with power and control.
Women should have control over their own bodies and healthcare decisions in conjunction with their doctor of choice. That is what birth CONTROL hormones are mostly about - providing women with the option of providing a sexual outlet for their dumbass partners without always having to worry about creating a child - wanted or not.
Men obviously also want to use medications to control their bodies. Ergo, we have Viagra for the ones who just can't seem to control their own little weenies.
The morning Joe is laughing because to them the question is all about Viagra and are attributing Mcsames inability to recall a vote or take a position on health care for women to a perceived reticence on the senators part to talk about erections. WAKE UP Joe is a hack the story is NOT viagra it's womens health and it's not fucking funny except to misogynist assholes like Joe. What happened to that intern btw Joe, was that funny too? You getting away with any actual inquiry or media attention with a dead intern in your office?
These loud mouth and definitely ignorant Reslugs are the true terrorists.
There have been a couple of comments to the effect of "it's not an apt comparison".
I disagree, and here's why.
First (must state the obvious): men use Viagra so they can experience sexual pleasure and/or pleasure their partner, during a time when they otherwise wouldn't be able to, physically; in most cases, these men and their partners are of an age where offspring production is, let's say, not gonna happen. In any case, most use is not for procreation purposes.
For a fertile woman who doesn't want to have a baby, her choices are to either abstain from sex, or to go on birth control of some sort. So basically, if we take as granted that a woman should be able to control her own baby-making, BC serves the same purpose as Viagra: it allows her to have sex, where otherwise she would be unable.
The reason that we see the Viagra/BC hypocrites on the right side of the aisle is that, as we all know, the following condition rarely applies to those *ssholes: if we take as granted that a woman should be able to control her own baby-making
Shorter this comment: Republican men like Viagra because it allows men to have sex on their own terms, but they don't like BC because it allows women to have sex on their own terms.
um, yes, and also exactly what Amitola @ 49 said. Exactly that. :)
pre-teen Santa Domingan girls need birth control? I guess in Limbaugh's world, they do ...
Don't know why Limbaugh would be taking Viagra. Why would a "prick with ears" with "stiff" views need Viagra?
McCain certainly gets loads of free Viagra, paid for by his insurance! Why, Viagra helps make babies, doesn't it?
Loosely Twisted @ 47:
You misunderstand my point. I do not question the suitable uses or applications of birth control pills, nor whether or not they should be covered by insurance.
I question the validity of the comparison to Viagra as an argument for being covered by insurance (or not, as the case may be...).
Limbaugh's mother's insurance company should have made a back alley and a coat hanger easier to obtain.
Man, I sure wish I had waited till after lunch to read this.
Just the suggestion of Limbaugh getting a boner and then using it..
I sure hope my appetite returns by dinner.
But I'm not taking bets or anything.
Blimpaugh brags about how much he loves the male room service on his trips to the Dominican Republic.
