If you are travelling to a family gathering which includes Trump supporters, you may be dreading it.

And everyone on the internet is talking about it. A simple Google Search brings up:

7 Rules for Surviving Thanksgiving With Your Trump-Loving Family
Here's how to talk to your Trump-supporting relatives this Thanksgiving
How to Have a Civil Thanksgiving Conversation With Your Trump Voting Family
A Letter To My Family Who Voted For Trump, Before We Sit Down For Thanksgiving
How to Survive Thanksgiving With Your Trump-Voting Mom

And they all say basically the same thing.

1. Be an Adult.

2. Cool the drama. Avoid the subject if necessary. (Football and Christmas lists make great distractors.)

3. Practice self-care and the power of "away from." (Eat at the kids' table if necessary).

4. Remember: this (holiday) too shall pass.

And it really is important to remember that no one owes you an endorsement of your politics, and you owe no one an endorsement of theirs.

And that we in this country still have a lot to be grateful for.

Please share tips on how you are dealing with the holiday this year. And Happy Thanksgiving.
