To say that former President Donald Trump isn't taking the results of the midterm elections very well would be putting it mildly. He sounds like he's in his death throes, making violent, uncontrolled movements, but he's too mean to die. Trump didn't just lash out at one popular GOP Governor who he sees as a potential 2024 rival, but he also aimed at Virginia's Republican Governor in a racist rant on his Truth Social platform.

CBS News's Robert Costa reported on Twitter that the former President has become increasingly isolated and self-destructive.

"Dark time in Trump's inner circle," Costa tweeted. "Spoke to several longtime friends, donors, and aides in the past 24 hours. Many say he's listening to very few people, isolated, and meanspirited about his potential rivals. Several of them say they're tired of his rants and are avoiding him."

"I have never seen him more irresponsible and chaotic than he is today. He seems to be in self-destruct mode. It is irresponsible to attack DeSantis and Youngkin, and it's irresponsible to announce at any time in the near future," especially before the Georgia runoff, a Trump adviser told Costa.

Trump knows this. He doesn't care. The rest of us could see who he was, but Republicans ignored how dangerous he was and instead took it as an opportunity to grab power. Trump is even blaming his wife, Melania, for his endorsement of Dr. Oz. If he throws Mel under the bus, imagine what he'll do to his party. Sorry, GOP, but we warned you. It would be stupid for Trump to announce a run before the Georgia runoff. But if you think he won't do it to hurt DeSantis's chances of winning in 2024 and split the votes by forming another party, then you haven't been paying attention. Trump is capable of doing anything at this point.

Narcissistic abuse typically follows a pattern, and it happens so fast it can make your head spin: idealization, devaluing and discarding. Republicans are experiencing the discarding phase. The GOP is no longer considered a good supply for the one-term President. Buckle up, Republicans, it's about to get even crazier. I truly wish I didn't know as much about this subject as I do. Enjoy it, GOP!

Adam Schiff said it best two years ago: "He is not who you are."
