This Week with Christiane Amanpour marks the passings of French New Wave director Claude Chabrol, newsman Edwin Newman and actor Kevin McCarthy. In addition, the Pentagon has released the names of six service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

US Air Force SrA James A Hansen, 25, Athens, MI
US Army SGT John F Burner III, 32, Baltimore, MD
US Army SGT Aaron K Kramer, 22, Salt Lake City, UT
US Air Force SrA Daniel R Sanchez, 23, El Paso, TX
US Army SPC Deangelo B Show, 22, Saginaw, MI

According to iCasualties, 4,739 servicemembers have lost their lives in Iraq; 2,085 in Afghanistan, of which, 152 are Canadian. During this same period, Iraq Body Count lists 57 Iraqi civilians killed.
