Now that the McCain campaign has made abundantly clear that their only shot at salvaging this election is by going full-bore negative against Barack Obama with despicable, disgraceful and dishonorable smears, Keith responds with another great Special Comment.
"The Governor of Alaska wants to start calling people terrorists -- and insisting of Senator Obama that quote "this is not a man who sees America like you and I see America" -- and whose rhetoric like that and the "pallin' around with terrorists" line were rightly described by the Associated Press yesterday as a wolf-in-sheep's-clothing kind of way of slipping racism into the equation because it's a nifty trick to remind the white folk that (psst) Obama is black. But overriding this sleaziness -- and dog-gone it, the Governor of Alaska has got to be the sleaziest politician working the stage at the moment -- there is the sheer blessed stupidity of letting herself become the bomb-thrower when her own life is full of domestic terrorists.
Governor -- Bill Ayres? Your hubby was in this secessionist hate group for which you recorded a video.
Governor -- Jeremiah Wright? That pastor you credit with helping you become Governor, is either a con man or a psycho who believes he can tell which woman in the village is the witch and which is the governor."
Full transcript below the fold:
And finally tonight as promised a Special Comment about the campaign remarks made this weekend and today by the Governor of Alaska.
Last Wednesday, Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home of a woman in Akron, Ohio named Addie Polk, in order to evict her.
After 38 years in that house, Ms. Polk had fallen behind on paying the mortgage.
It was so bad that the company that held that mortgage, Fannie Mae, had foreclosed.
In fact, it was far worse than anybody knew.
Addie Polk couldn't bear it any more.
So, rather than be evicted, she... shot herself in the chest.
Evidently she will survive. And, after Congressman Dennis Kucinich brought her plight to the floor of the House, Fannie Mae -- the mortgage giant you and I and all the rest of us pretty much own now - agreed it would forgive Addie Polk's debt and, when she gets out of the hospital, let her go back and live in her home again.
That this is already a gothic horror story, you'll agree.
But I left out one detail.
Addie Polk... is 90 years old.
In the self-pronounced area of expertise of the Governor of Alaska -- energy -- the real experts of both parties are at a loss to figure out any way, even 'drill, baby, drill', that might lower gas prices before 2018.
We are at war in two countries -- and a lame duck President with no reason to check his own imbalance... still has dreams of one more.
And a 90-year old woman, trapped in the middle of a financial meltdown, shoots herself -- and she's still in better shape than the economy.
Yet the Governor of Alaska wants to talk about somebody Barack Obama doesn't know very well, and what this somebody Barack Obama doesn't know very well, did… during the year Obama was eight... and the Governor of Alaska was in pre-Kindergarten.
And she wants to talk about Reverend Jeremiah Wright...
And she doesn't object to being introduced with a reference to Barack Obama's middle name.
Well, this is my suggestion.
In much the same way we, America -- in the corporate persona of Fannie Mae -- have forgiven poor Addie Polk of Akron, Ohio...
We, America, also need to forgive… poor Sarah Palin of Wasilla, Alaska.
They are both in situations that are beyond their ability to cope.
They are both stuck in a crucible caused by forces they cannot comprehend.
They are both unable to understand... what they are doing.
After stumbling through a clumsier version of it at Englewood, Colorado...
The Governor of Alaska said Saturday at Carson, California... quote:
"Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country." She later defended the remark by adding this was an "association that has been known but hasn't been talked about."
Governor, Conservative groups have thus far spent ten million dollars this year trying to make something -- anything -- out of the brief interaction on a charity board between Senator Obama, and a rehabilitated former domestic radical from the '60s - and not even Conservatives have been stupid enough to buy the snake oil, that this was either a close relationship or a nefarious one.
But of course, you know better, Governor.
You're smarter than the rest of us.
A reporter asks you a horrible gotcha question like 'which newspapers do you read' and it takes you four days to come up with an answer, and somehow -- it's the reporter's fault.
The reporter asks you to name one Supreme Court ruling with which you disagree other than Roe-v-Wade and even though you'd commented on just such a case -- from Alaska no less -- not three months ago -- your eyes turn into a big neon sign reading "Vacancy" -- and you insist it's because that evil media asked the wrong question.
So you're the genius Governor, and it's your supporters and the undecided voters who are the dopes who are now going to believe the same mickey-mouse crap that Senator Clinton couldn't get to stick, and Sean Hannity couldn't get to stick, just because it's you adding that word "terrorist" and that phrase "palling around" and dropping the "g" in pal-ling.
And of course, Governor, those same dopes, and we media morons, we are not smart enough to ask about that pesky Alaskan Independence Party, and why you recorded a speech for its convention last March, and why your husband remained a registered member of it until 2002, even though it was founded by a man named Joe Vogler who wanted Alaska to secede from the United States..
The way the South seceded, precipitating the Civil War.
The same Joe Vogler who once said:
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won't be buried under their damn flag."
And who also said:
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."
Shoot, Governor, them's strong words, hah?
Did he wink as he said 'em?
You betcha!
So… where does Joe Vogler rank on the scales of "terrorists who would target their own country"?
Your opponent's guy Ayers wound up on a volunteer anti-poverty committee in Chicago.
But your guy Vogler wound up founding a group that wanted to rip one of the stars off the American flag!
Well, ok, Governor -- Vogler's more your husband's guy.
So it's your husband who's been "palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."But I'm assuming you've been "palling around" with your husband.
But, gee willikers, Governor, you know what's best.
You're not one of these Washington insiders who would notice that though that's a straight line connecting you, your husband, and this Alaskan secessionist, you're standing under a banner with the campaign slogan "Country First" and if somebody out there puts two and two together they might just ask, "which Country didja mean? The Country of Alaska?"
"The heels are on," you said with another smile. "The gloves are off." Well, if you're telling William Kristol you want to talk about Jeremiah Wright... fer sure!
So, Governor... you don't mind addressing whether this Pastor Muthee is a terrorist? Do you?
We've told you before about Pastor Thomas Muthee.
He's the preacher who visited the Wasilla Assembly of God church a couple of times while the Governor was there -- ironically enough, just about as many times as Bill Ayres has met Barack Obama -- and, see, there was this one time where Pastor Muthee actually laid hands on the Governor.
And I'm sure that sounds like just some crazy anecdote, except there's videotape.
And of course the Governor talked about this moment -- the laying on of hands -- just last summer.
It was in October, 2005, as the video indicates, when Muthee put his hands on Sarah Palin's back and said, "make a way for Sarah, even in the political arena. Make a way, my God. Bring finances her way, even if for the campaign in the name of Jesus... "Every form of witchcraft, it will be rebuked in the name of Jesus. Father, make her way now. "And the Governor said that "bold" approach of Pastor Muthee was one of the reasons she became Governor… and she gives him just oodles of credit for puttin' her on the path.
The problem for the governor is... that in 1999 The Christian Science Monitor reported that Pastor Muthee had gotten his start a decade earlier in Kenya, in the Nairobi suburb of Kiambu…
Kimabu was crime-ridden...
So this character Muthee showed up, and announced it was the fault of this woman in town who he had decided was a witch.
And Muthee gave the witch a choice: either be saved, or get out of town.
And the woman initially chose none of the above, but this became less than a viable option when Muthee got 200 of the townspeople together and they decided, heck, you know, Muthee's right, she probably is a witch, and the next thing you know the police are raiding her house and reportedly shooting her snake because if she was a witch, the snake had to be a demon, and then the woman left town and everybody said crime went down and most of the bars closed and this is not only how Pastor Muthee got started -- but he's proud of it and he tells the story in his testimonial videotapes and people in that church in Wasilla where he laid hands on the Governor knew all about it.
And they think it was just a... Joe-Six-Pack, Hockey Mom kinda thing to do, to let a guy who branded some woman in Kenya a witch, demand that God make some different woman... the Governor... of... Alaska!!!
Governor, what would you call someone who arrives in a suburb, blames a resident for the local crime, organizes a mob to threaten the woman, convinces the authorities to go and raid her home, and then chases her out of the suburb?
C'mon Governor, just give us one answer that has something to do with the question you were just asked.
That's right... you'd call him... a terrorist.
And since it was in his own country, that would make him, Hamm?…. Yes, very good… a domestic terrorist.
So, you, Governor, you've been "palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."Say it ain't so, Gov!
Say it ain't so!
Of course... it is.
The Governor of Alaska ignores Addie Polk and the American tragedy that is a 90-year old woman shooting herself out of shame and panic and who knows what else. Over the mortgage!
Instead the Governor of Alaska wants to start calling people terrorists... -- and insisting of Senator Obama that quote "this is not a man who sees America like you and I see America" -- and whose rhetoric like that, and the "pallin' around with terrorists" line were rightly described by the Associated Press yesterday as a wolf-in-sheep's-clothing kind of way of slipping racism into the equation, because it's a nifty trick to remind the white folk that (psst) Obama is black.
But overriding this sleaziness -- and dog-gone it, the Governor of Alaska has got to be the sleaziest politician working the stage at the moment -- there is the sheer blessed stupidity of letting herself become the bomb-thrower when her own life is full of domestic terrorists.
- Bill Ayres?
Your hubby was in this secessionist hate group for which you recorded a video.
Governor? -- Jeremiah Wright?
That pastor you credit with helping you become Governor, is either a con man or a psycho who believes he can tell which woman in the village is the witch, and which woman is the governor.
And Governor, there's also "The U.S. Council On World Freedom." You should ask Senator McCain about that outfit and why he had to scat away from it 22 years ago.
Or, ask him why yesterday his own brother Joe referred to Northern Virginia as quote, "communist country."
Or you could ask him about Pastors John Hagee and Rod Parsley.
Or about why Senator McCain said about introducing Jeremiah Wright into this campaign, quote, "there's no place for that kind of campaigning, the American people don't want it, period."
Or -- don't ask. You know best. You're the one selling the patent medicine. Those of us out here, we're just the suckers pulling out our greenbacks.
Go on talking about this man Ayers and trying to link Obama to that word "terrorist."
But be prepared for others to ask you about your pastor... and terrorism.
And for still others to ask you about the First Dude.... and terrorism.
But -- not me, Governor.
I forgive you. You are about as guilty here as poor Ms. Addie Polk in Akron.
And I hope that after what you've done to yourself, you recover as well as she seems to be doing, and that you too get to go back and live in your own home again.
Because if you think the terrorism con, and the racism sting are going to do anything but bury you and Senator McCain, you need to pick up one of those how-many-ever newspapers you reed and check the headlines to find out what people are really worried about right now.
Otherwise, when you said "the heels are on, the gloves are off," you got as close to telling the truth as you've ever gotten, and without really knowing it.
Because, for you and Senator McCain, Governor, it's not the gloves that just came off.
Obviously -- it's the wheels.
That's Countdown for this, the One Thousand, 986th day since the declaration of "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq.

Dude, you are the absolute KING of bad linking. It's baffling how it keeps happening when it's happened so many times before. Why don't you just verify your links before posting?
[It's not his fault, Anonymous-Sitemonitor]
Fristing.
Failing.
Great performance tonight! Keep it up, Keith!
Here's something to add - NYT article debunking McCain's exaggerations:
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/06...
Debbie Wasserman nails it - McCain wanted to privatize social security into the stock market which would be tanking right now. He wants to cut Medicare by $1.3 Trillion dollars - I'd say he's losing votes in Florida as this info gets out.....He's "toast" now in Florida!
Obama's polling numbers will continue to go up with all these negative attacks.
I don't trust these damn polls, no matter how poorly McSham's campaign appears to be doing. Don't forget how Bush trailed Kerry forever, only to pull even enough to steal the deal at the last minute.
The sad fact remains, our guy has to win by 15+% points in some of these crooked neocon strongholds or we're screwed. It amazes me people have bought the Diebold debacle and easily manipulated e-votes without question. We should continue pushing for paper records to back up the machines, especially when the machines are provided/programmed by rethug sympathizers.
Still, glad to see Barry is doing so well. I don't think these recent attacks are going to stick. The economic melt down leaves no room to "turn the page"... unless it means closing the book on McSham and his beauty queen dunce.
yep! absolutely necesary.
maybe 4 will be enough for victory.
or 4%
I am thinking the SAME thing. Last election, when I left work to head over to the house of friends, Kerry was way ahead. By the time I got to my friend's house he was lagging. Talk about the drive to hell! And still, we all took it lying down. The Diebold machine issue was out and out fraud yet nothing was done. It was so easy. What a nightmare;

The videos are missing...
Olberman nails Palin like shooting ducks in a barrel. Palin, the gift that keeps on giving.
She went full retard. But she can't help it...
Wait a minute, Didn’t McCAIN also Embrace a Commie Radical?
http://satiricalpolitical.com/?p=3763
so I'll just say that this is definitely one of Keith's best. And that's sayin' somethin', you betcha!
in what respect, charlie?
again!
Amen to that, fur sure, wink, wink!!!
The McCain/Palin camp is goin' down in flames. You Betcha! Keith nails another one.
Hey, if the link still doesn't work, enjoy some Lil' O'Reilly:

i can only hope that i'll be sitting in the dentist office in 2018 and there on the table in the waiting room is the People magazine Where Are They Now? issue and Ms. Palin will be profiled; happily runnin' some musk-ox jerky operation on the tundra after her disappointing loss to the Obama-Biden ticket back in '08.
p-p-p-p-pleeeeese let it be true!
She'll be living in a dusty old trailer park with an American flag pasted over the windows, her laundry flowing in the breeze. Her husband will have run off with the maid and her kids will hate her and want nothing to do with her. That's where I see Sarah Palin in 2018.
is this before or after she's chased out of her community for being a witch?
Closer to end of 2008...
Here is the spot for Trolls to post their rants. No need to put your hatred of Keith elswhere. This is the place. :)
X, they seem to have disappeared.
That is the only explanation. :)
They . . . .
• can't add 2+2;
• mistake the new look for a fledgling blog, and think they defeated C&L;
• lost all their money due to their own policy philosophy, and no longer have homes or computers;
• were finally kicked out of their respective parents' basements after their parents realized they could no longer afford to support them during the economic crisis;
• are searching for the bridge Sarah Palin sold them in Alaska.
Yeah, and I miss Dennis - he was a really good "disseminator!"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/27057...
I didn't watch, just read, but it seems like one of Keith's more convoluted rants. I really appreciate that someone is showing the outrage that this comment should have earned in this day and age.
It's infantile name-calling politics. She's insulting the intelligence of average Americans.
I can understand why reading it would make it look convoluted. when he was doing on TV it was a little fractured but it worked well. The bottom line of course was "Fuck you Sarah Palin. You are a nobody and you are not qualified to carry Obama's coffee."
I'm still trying to figure out how Palin can accuse Obama of hangin' out with "terrorists" when she's married to someone who has been trying to get Alaska to secede from the United States of America.
obviously you're referring to her husband's involvement with the AIP, but lets call a spade a spade... not only is she married to a secessionist, she's running with a bonafide terrorist through and through (not to mention her party's penchant for fear-mongering to maintain their grip on power)...
With Bush and McSham promising the sure destruction of all we hold dear if we "cut and run" in Iraq, the neo-nazi rethugs are pros at using fear and anxiety to further their political agenda. He's late to the game, but Johnny boy has been more than happy to cowtow to Bush's every megalomaniacal whim.
Big difference in "hangin' out with 'terrorists'" vs. marrying one and running with one for the highest office in the government.
please explain to me why being a secessionist makes anyone a terrorist?
I don't know, I just didn't like this SC very much. I watch KO because he calls people out on stupid crap like this. I mean, Palin is wrong, her witch-hunting pastor is evil, sure. But the Alaskan Independence party is a terrorist organization?
I don't buy it.
I guess you're right to point out the need for a distinction. I'm grouchy/tired and prone to oversimplifying things.
Still, from a historical perspective, most of the disgruntled secessionists from the Civil War Era reformed into the KKK.... quite literally, one of the USA's first domestic terrorist organizations. Ergo, being a secessionist has normally carried the stigma of domestic terrorism because of this historical precedent, but I can see it being unfair to call *some* who want to break ties with this corrupt union "domestic terrorists."
However, when you look at some of the statements and tactics advocated by the AIP, or at least extremists therein, it can give one reason to pause and wonder about their "loyalty" (at least as much as Palin wants her brainwashed followers to question barry's motives because of his associations with Ayers)
For not labeling me a concern troll. I've been hanging on the refresh button. Just in case someone would accuse me as such.
Anyway.
I'm sure Keith could be right. I just wish he'd cite specific examples.
can't speak for others, but I have my moments when I wish I could declare my house the free nation of "CW-land" and be done with this corrupt mess. Still, we should be careful not to take the rethug bait and start slinging mud. While she has no grounds to call out Barack on this already dealt with shit issue, if we go after her and McSham too hard on it, we run the risk of diverting away attention from the underlying problems of the country..... but, yadda yadda yadda... we know how that spiel goes
I applaud the civilized exchange between the two of you. I think I would argue that the impetus toward secession in and of itself has, throughout history, led to violent acts when acted upon. Although I am unaware of any specific acts committed by Vogler or his followers (although there may well be some), I think that we can surmise that Olbermann was exaggerating to make a point. In the same way that the McCain/Palin campaign is exaggerating Obama's "association" (even the word conveys a sense of "taint") with Ayres and his "contamination" by Rev. Wright, so Olbermann blew the McCain and Palin "associations" and "contaminations" out of proportion.
And again, I really appreciate the civility. I've been in a couple of comment corrals today where people were downright vicious with each other.
you mean youtube?
is secession itself treason? Isn't this why the North invaded the South? breach of contract?
It's striking the head of the AIP's language about America sounds like the Rev Wright tape loop. Except one is a lifelong philosophy and the other a hyperbolic rhetorical device.
Isn't this why the North invaded the South? breach of contract?
Well, not exactly. It had something to do with Beauregard's bombardment of Ft. Sumter. The provisional constitution of the CSA was adopted in February of 1861. The attack on Ft. Sumter didn't occur until April of that year, eight to ten weeks later. So, there was no invasion of the South due to secession.
I don't ever recall reading - anywhere - that secession was considered treasonous. Regardless, if it were, nothing was done by the Union until South Carolina decided that the Union forces on Sumter needed to be forcefully removed.
It would be interesting to learn what would have happened in the event that the bombardment hadn't occurred. Maj. Robert Anderson even went so far as to inform Beauregard's aides that if they waited a few days, the garrison would have been starved out. Lack of supplies would have accomplished the evacuation, but....
Let's be careful of not walking into a double standard here.
Didn't the great northeastern state of Vermont also has had talks of secession from the "Union" as recent as last year to distance themselves form the atrocities of the current administration? This is after all the same state which has several townships and/or counties that have pledged to arrest GWB for war crimes. I could be wrong, but there might even be a warrant out there with his name on it. In all fairness then, hating on AIP for trying to get out of the union is just as wrong hating on VT for the same. That is unless we find out AIP has committed actual terrorist acts, which would make them on par with ETA of Spain, which has killed hundreds in the name Basque independence.
In my opinion, we should attack McCain and Palin's other controversial ties, such as lobbyists, white collar felons, and war criminals.
It occurs to me that a secessionist by definition is inciting rebellion and therefore by proxy is an "enemy of the state". If there is some legal process to secession then perhaps it has merit but by-and-large scession has historically been a violent affair, ergo the epithet "terrorist" could be readily applied, espescially in today's "everyone's a terrorist" legal framework.
this is Keith at his best. We need more like him in our media, intelligent and educated people....
Check out this video of Lou Dobbs of CNN threatening him??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvcdDzLngaA&fe...
Keith for president...
Why bother trying to post the vid here on C&L, when a perfectly good rendition is available on UTube? Tnx to whoever posted that link. Go Keith!
I would think it's good to post a video here because the corporate powers that be have started exerting a much greater sway over Utube... so much so, that we've seen negative videos of Tommy Brokejaw dissing dems and carrying waters for the neocons disappear for "copyright" reasons shortly after being posted on Utube.
That's what happens when you lose fair use rights. You can thank Clinton for some of that crap as he signed the original DMCA and other related anti fair use legislation. This bs brought to you by Orifice Hatch and DiFi as well. Also checking Obama's sponsors, you'll see the *AA's have given him plenty so expect him to continue the downward spiral, of course grandpa will gladly do it for free.
When are people going to actually care about their rights and stop this madness with the duopoly. Kick the the bums out.
The very reason that Palin is trying to stir up a bunch of dust is because this is the best ploy to ignore and deny the real issues that are at stake, for which she doesn't have a well rehearsed, well memorized canned answer. In essence, stir up the dust so you don't see what's sneaking in the back door. It's a very common Republican ploy. Bush does it all the time. And since Palin is trying to be one of the good ol' southern boys...
one thing that keith was too polite to include in his remarks about vogler, the founder of AIP, is the circumstances of vogler's death. he was shot by a guy he was trying to buy plastics explosives through.
I went out for dinner tonight in the Hamptons. I and my dinner partner just happened to be the first to sit at the bar. I asked the lovely bartender to turn one of the T.V.'s off "the game" and on to CNN.
A few minutes transpired and in came 6 newcomers. As they all sat down I noted CNN's coverage of Lehman Bros. CEO giving his testimony before the House Banking Sub-Committee today and I casually called out, "Cuff him! Indict him!" Where upon one of the interlopers said, "Why would you want HIM arrested?!"
An hour later later we all agreed that there should be a pox on ALL the Republican and Democratic houses. Whether Republican or Democrat, we all knew that Congress and the "Administrations" of the past, plus the American peoples' persistence in being "consumers" rather than "citizens", is the problem.
Now, after a cordial goodbye, I am home and am about to send my new Republican friends links to Gov. Sarah Palin's "Rev. Muthee" videos, which none of them had ever heard of!!
I suggest we should all take every opportunity to get out and mingle with the masses. Take your business cards with you and chat it up "for change". Gather email addy's from strangers you meet and lesson them into what's up.
Just sayin'.....
Maybe one of the people was the Lehman CEO needing a drink after the testimony. Not to worry about him though. I think he scored $19,000,000 for his 3 month job of which I'm sure they structured in way that he will only have to pay capitol gains taxes as opposed to income taxes. .
My spouse and I went to our favorite Italian restaurant/bar last Friday (in a safe repuglican district in CA). Watched the T.V. next to a group of older realtors complaining about the fear that Obama has instilled in the market (Ha!). I suspect they were secretly complaining of having to actually work. Anyway, their language got a bit uglier (O.K., racist) and I even got a few elbow taps like "We won't vote for him, right?". I get that being very blond and very white, but they are very wrong. So, I just pulled the trump card and reminded them that being in CA, they didn't need to even bother given the 58% or more poll for Obama and get all of out State's votes anyway. They got very quiet.
How dare this woman incite violence and hatred while on the stump while her own crooked past goes unexposed by the MSM?
I am so glad that finally KO had the guts to tell it like it is--especially when it comes to calling Palin a hypocrite. I'd go one bit further and say that this woman is simply a disgusting, bigoted, ill-bred, ignoramus who's only claim to fame is showing the public how stupid she is (while reveling in it). And she doesn't deserve forgiveness.
For what she's done, Sarah Palin deserves jailtime.
'cause they got nuthin'
nuthin' at all!
As unbelievable as this sounds, yes, Secessionista Sarah has no room to talk about hanging around with terrorists and anti-US types.....when she's "sleeping with the enemy" herself and attending their conferences.
I'd say this woman's credibility is now totally tanked.
Here 'tis:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/9/1/4231/1...
The other videos are gone.
We should probably refer to her as "Secessionista Sarah" at every possible opportunity until the meme goes viral.
Obama wants to avoid making this big election about small things, but if Palin/McShame want to make this about character, there's no need to stop at the first dude's party or her witch doctor when we have
Troopergate or...
Keating 5 or....
187 lobbiests in the campaign or...
Phil Graham or....
Hagee or....
Voted with Bush 95% of the time and on and on....
ko left out one thing in his story
the 90 year old woman who tried to kill herself....had owned her home free and clear
she was conned into a refi that the lender knew she would never to be able to repay on a fixed income
SHE WAS CONNED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OVERSIGHT
we have been hearing from the wingnuts that the fault for the collapse lays at the feet of poor people and the dems
THE DEMS?????
somehow, despite the fact that they couldnt stop the war, couldnt stop the tax cuts....couldnt stop anything...they were somehow able to make sure that regulations the republcans are never for, except in this case, never made it out of committee
it is the most absurd argument...and yet, people are buying it
they are buying it thanks to some wonderful editing done on a few speeches made by members of congress
people in this country are too retarded to vote....by god, most are too retarded to live
are dems hands clean??? hell no
they shoulda been pulling the "drill, baby, drill" ploy of the repugs from day one of the bush administration....but they didnt...they just kicked back and waited for the house of cards to fall
as for palin...that lying bitch
there isnt one thing she has said on the campaign trail that is the truth....not one
and she does it with a wink and a smile
she is a more attractive katherine harris,,,,and she didnt need a boob job
on november 4, if the mccain/palin team wins...there is too much wrong with america ever to fix...so we should all give up and ask johnny depp if there is any room at his inn in france
On Rachel Maddow Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was saying that the only places (in Florida anyway) that they are sending Play Thing Palin is to the most rabid Republican towns or areas. Hence the Sheriff who introduced her by putting down Barak Husein Obama. Also Rachel was saying how McMelonoma is talking about cutting Medicare by $1,000,000,000,000 (yes that's trillion with a T). Not going to play too well in Florida was the consensus. Hehe
Pinch me because I must be dreaming that one so intimately aligned with the anti-US Secessionist movement as Todd and Sarah Palin are and have been cannot actually be thinking that she has any chance of occupying the White House....this would be the biggest mistake in our history to have someone so "anti american" as a veep. Here's her video message transcript:
Governor Sarah Palin and I am delighted to welcome you to the 2008 Alaskan Independence Party Convention in the golden heart city of Fairbanks. Your party plays an important role in our state’s politics. I’ve always said that competition is so good, and that applies to political parties as well. I share your party’s vision of upholding the constitution of our great state. My administration remains focused on reining in government growth so individual liberty and opportunity can expand. I know you agree with that. We have a great promise to be a self-sufficient state, made up of the hardest-working, most grateful Americans in our nation. So as your convention gets underway I hope that you all are inspired by remembering that all those years ago, it was in this same city that Alaska’s constitution was born. And it was founded on hope and trust and liberty and opportunity. I carry that message of opportunity forward in my administration, as we continue to move our state ahead and create positive change. So I say good luck on a successful and inspiring convention. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.
You've got to be kidding, folks!
Here we have her slinging mud at Obama for someone who was a terrorist while Obama was 7 years old and she's directly involved with this Anti-American government secessionist movement???
She addressed them in both 2006 and as recently as 2008 - this is astoundingly problematic for the McCain campaign. Every american needs to know these facts and see this video. Of course, our propagandist msm will not inform americans about things unsavory like this....the "bribed" and Fascist mainstream media.
Putting Palin into office will be akin to putting a "known, current, homebred american terrorist" into this position.
This video and link speaks for itself. The facts will smear Palin into oblivion.
Maybe she's confusing the Alaskan Independence Party with the Libertarian Party or the Peace and Freedom Party?

Well said. There's nothing else to add, you said it all.
KO should be commended for being an outspoken opponent of the likes of Hannity and O'Reilly.
Someone should do it and he has willingly put himself in that position. That, in itself, is worthy of praise. His passion is clearly not of the ilk of the aforementioned. That should give him even more praise. He speaks from the bottom of his heart whereas they are paid puppets for the Right Wing agenda.
The contrast: Keith speaks truth in his rants and raves. The others speak lies.
2 + 2 = 4
McCain + Palin = Zero
btw
you all should now understand why so many of us still dont believe that trig is her son
this woman will lie to you about the sky being blue
There is no doubt in my mind that Sarah is not the mother of "Trig". I've known lots of women like her. They want to dress like their daughters, they don't want to be thought of as "Grama". They can't stand the embarrassment of their kid getting knocked up because they are such an upstanding family with mom as the Governer so they devise a scheme to hide it and guess what, she won't be called "Grama" if it looks as though mom is the mother of the baby. Its ok to defend your kids, we all do. But its not ok to purpetrate a crime of cover-up to conceal the facts. Bristol is not the first young girl nor the last to find herself pregnant. And I believe this will come out in due time and be exposed as such. Certainly there are records of this birth somewhere whether its Bristol's Or Sarah's. Slap them with a DNA test. Wouldn't it be something to find out that the DNA of the father turns out to be Bristol's boy friend? What would Sarah say then? Would she still say it was her baby and yes she had an affair with her daughter's boy friend? I don't think so and then the gig would be up. I'm sure we are going to find out, you cannot just bury something like this, its too volitile and it will come out.
When Hitler saw that defeat was imminent he tried to order his troops to carry out the destruction of what was left of Germany. McCain and Palin seem to be emulating this in the last days of their campaign: if they cannot attain their desired office they will destroy what little remains of their honor and integrity. I think the shame will ultimately haunt McCain to his grave but while the the hollow Palin will sluff it off though it will probably end her future political ambitions.
Last, desperate days of a losing campaign: Variations on a theme.
HITLER: Forget about the Panzer Divisions and the U-Boats. Just start lobbing V2 rockets at London in a desperate attempt to demoralize the British.
Imperial Japan: Forget conventional naval tactics, and start training Kamikaze pilots to crash into the Allied aircraft carriers.
SADDAM: Invaded by a vastly superior force, starts lobbing Scud missiles at Israel in the hopes of dragging them into the war, and splitting the Arab countries out of the coalition.
McCain/Palin: Pull the campaign staff out of Michigan, and start a traveling circus of clowns, chanting "Terrorist...terrorist...terrorist" to crowds of salivating knuckle-draggers in the hopes of distracting reporters and pundits from discussing Republican mismanagement of the economy.
None of them worked!
But you have to admit that, as desperate as the Nazis got during the last days of WWII, they never broke their vow to not break out the MUSTARD GAS. McCain made a vow to not break out the mustard gas, and go negative. He's already broken that vow, and they're not done yet. Even if they're down by 20 points on election day, they'll stall and obstruct in the polling booths! They'll have teams of sh-t disturbers at every polling boot to challenge every voter with black or brown skin, and every voter under the age of 40. Then they'll throw legal monkey wrenches into the counting process, protesting the results at every blue district.
No, this thing is going to get a lot dirtier before it's done. But Obama shouldn't follow them to the bottom. It's like that newspaper editor said when asked if he intended to sue FOX NEWS: "No. Trying to sue FOX is like wrestling with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig actually likes it."
you are forgetting one
the russians scorched earth policy worked....twice
and what has bush done but use that same policy on this nation
and mccain is one of his generals
they will burn this country to the ground before they give it back to the dems
This is hugely important to the american people to discover that Lil'Moosey Quayle-in is now intimately tied to "Anti american radicals" who want Alaska to seceed from the United States. This is horrific for someone aspiring to fill the #2 office in this country. Imagine this "anti american" secessionista assuming to the presidency? I shudder to even imagine where this would take this country right now.

From a distance, and you must admit Australia is a long way away, it suprizes me that people in the USA made such a fuss about flag pins. I understand that those who see the flag as a declaration of their loyalty to their country want to see the brand on the people they will ask to represent them, it helps to confirm loyalties.
Interesting thing about flag though, and that is the proticol involved in where and when they should be displayed and the possition of each when more then one is displayed.
No other flag shall fligh higher then the flag of the soveriegn nation on who's soil the flag is flown. State flags will not be raised higher then the national flag, nor should they be displayed above them.
Sarah Palin and her horde or handlers seem to be unaware of this fact. Is she unpatriotic or does she hold the state of Alaska above the States of the Union?
Why hasn't someone with military experience, someone who respects the flag and all it represents, pointed this fact out.
It may be a faux par, but the way this "Dog and Pony Show" is corrigraphed I believe the symbolism is there to reasure those who need the message. Alaska first always.
STU
sarah palin will land on her feet after this as new host to america's funniest home videos. she'll be the best durndest host they ever had. wink.
Right on K!!!I couldn't get the viddy to play (that happens a lot with your viddys BTW-and it's not on my end of the innertubes)so i read the transcript instead.Powerful stuff. It's heartbreaking that Addie had to go and shoot herself, and I just read about the Cali man that killed his whole fucking family and himself because he couldn't find a job.
I'm reminded of Hollis Brown for some reason here...
This is a very disturbing trend that I fear will continue happening with increasing frequency.
And all the while we have this idiot bitch running her mouth about things she has no business doing so.
The scariest thing to me is there are lots of folks buying into her bullshit-hook line and sinker.
I've seen her kind before-don't turn your back america, she's got a knife in her purse with your name on it.
there are some important points that Keith brings up in this. The sad thing is that the people who need to hear these points the most never will, because they won't tune in long enough. KO's tone now is so belligerent, sneering, mocking, angry, harsh and dripping with contempt that it will drive people away and detracts from the credibility of what he is saying. I agree with everything he's saying here, yet even I find this painful to listen to.
I much prefer the earlier versions of his special comments, when he made more of an attempt to follow the more civil example of his role model, Mr. Murrow.
I on the other hand found it settin' my toes a tappin'! :)
ya...maybe you should call ko and tell him to talk nicer
like...
gee sarah...its not really nice to smear obama
cant we all just get along?
something like that...right?
go eff yourself
I agree that it used to be much easier for all people to watch Olbermann. Now he has become so famous and unleashed that he no longer appeals to those in the middle or those who are unable to follow his speech. (Uneducated people or just those with lower IQs have trouble understanding what he is saying). He speaks the truth and thank goodness that there is someone out there that does. I wonder if he gets this stuff from here half the time because he seems to talk about it on his show after we have talked about it here on C&L. Ahh but I'm rambling a bit. Anyway I'm very thankful that his show is followed by Rachel Maddow because I think she is able to follow him and then get the truth across in a way that is more palatable for the "common" American.
I'm sure KO lives to please you. I'll have to email him a crying towel.
Come on Sarah, don't hold back. Just come right out and publicly call Obama "Sambo" as you reportedly did during the primary.
Great Special Comment although I think calling AIP and pastor Muthee "terrorists" is a bit of a stretch. OTOH her associations are far stronger than Obamas with Ayers. And her stupid fearmongering comments deserves scorn and ridicule
KOs main point is of course exactly right. Two can play this ridiculous guilt by association game and its a game McCain/Palin would loose
when you terrorize a woman to the point that she leaves her home and her city...you are a terrorist
when you call for the secession of your state by any means necessary...your are a terrorist
