On Monday, twice-impeached, four-times-indicted former President Donald Trump called on Republicans to impeach Joe Biden despite there being no evidence to do so. Trump reasoned that, "They did it to us!" Trump is already turning the process of an impeachment into a circus. Impeachments won't mean shit anymore.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy heard Trump's demand because top Republicans have begun to strategize about how to move forward with an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden this fall.
Trump plans to retaliate against any Republicans who vote against impeaching Biden, according to Politico's Playbook.
"Trump — who has been breathing down McCarthy's neck to charge forward with a Biden impeachment — has suggested he'd use an impeachment vote to smoke out any MAGA-skeptical Republicans and support primary opponents against them," the outlet reports.
Moderate Republicans are aware that there is no evidence to impeach the president.
"Moderate Republicans in Biden-won districts are still privately fretting that there's no evidence to back up their conservative colleagues' accusations that the president benefited from his son's swampy gigs, where Hunter Biden was paid millions of dollars by foreign entities seeking to rent the clout of the Biden name," the report continues.
"We haven't proven the case for impeachment yet," one senior GOP aide told Politico. "How can you start impeachment? We haven't done what you need to do to start impeachment. There is no way we'd get the votes."
How embarrassing. And Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn't even know what an impeachment inquiry is. This is all about revenge for a man who has the thinnest skin on the planet.
