By bluegal Monday Oct 08, 2007 9:01pm
Pimping his new book, I am America (And So Can You!), Colbert has appeared on Good Morning America (thanks Paul D for the link) as well as WHYY/NPR's Fresh Air and All Things Considered.
Editor and Publisher has an excerpt.

I would give two dollar if he would cover this-
"Friend of Falwell" minister dies during bizarre sex play
Sad, but so predictable.
I've heard a lot about the title and nothing on the content. Anyone have any information on what this books pages are about?
I'll think I'll write a book and call it.........Frist!
Bought a copy of the Colbert book today. Very funny stuff, especially the chapter on religion. He lists a bunch of "heathen" religions, including Islam, which he classifies as (paraphrasing here) "a great and true religion dictated in the Holy Koran which was dictated by the archangel Gabriel to the prophet Muhammad. Blessings and Peace be upon him."
Colbert Builds 'Report' with Viewers, Readers
Fresh Air from WHYY, October 9, 2007 · Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central's The Colbert Report talks about his book I Am America (And So Can You!) and his successful television show.
(he is a national treasure)
It's sad that our hero Colbert would appear on National Zionist Radio!!! I wonder if the Wal Mart ad ran before his segment?
Colbert was not expecting the pregnancy question. lol
[deleted--hey Gophers, why don't you run your own blog and share the name of it so we can criticize you for the job you do? What, there isn't enough content for you here? You're not capable of turning on the TV and watching the debate yourself? You know what they say about jackasses in glass houses, Gophers.]
There was meaningful, substantive clips contributing to political discourse during a republican debate?
Gophers @ 7:
John isn't perfect.
Gophers @ 7:
Why don't you suggest what clips you think John should have posted. That would help with the discourse.
Gophers @ 7:
Meaningful or substantive clips of the Republican debate? Surely you jest! Just the thought of anyone finding any of the gibberish, lies, double talk and bullshit that spews forth from their mouths meaningful or substantive is hilarious. But since you are so intent on hearing it, I will do it for you....."it was all Clinton's fault." Also, "It is because of 9/11." There you go, happy now?
Gopher:
For cryin' out loud... why don't you get your own damn blog?! Jackass.

Hmm... That works but how 'bout a just a wee bit more zazz? Let's see... maybe a how to on buying a democracy:
Fristing Others for Fun and Profit!
? or maybe a film on illegal insider trading, this being one of Frist's honed skills:
A Frist Full of Dollars
I don't know. People have been Fristing for some time now... the good ones may have all been used up... Perhaps a joint book deal with Mr. Craig when he gets forced out. A comedy:
Who's on Frist?
Of course, this would also work for a tragic retelling of his (hopeully soon to be) prison days. Aww. Poor Frist. Kung Pow: Enter the Frist...? Wait why did you mention Frist again?
On topic, LOVE Mr. Colbert's work. Truly great stuff. I worry it won't translate to novel form very well (outside of Stephen Colbert’s Alpha Squad 7: Lady Nocturne: A Tek Jansen Adventure, of course). I hope that Colbert continues to have fun, and a place to share it with us for quite a while.
Or at least until I have a TV and cable again.
Kudos to Colbert on the new book.
Mine shipped from Amazon today, can't wait to read it!
If it doesn't outsell Krugman then the terrorists have won!
Awesome. Keep us up to date with the book tour.
Diane Sawyer is so unbelievably awful - she needs to slip quietly away.
Hello, this is off topic but i really don't have anyone else to bounce this off of so please indulge me for a moment.I have been getting the feeling lately that the daily show and the colbert report are playing with my fucking head. While claiming to be nothing more than simple comedy stewart goes out of his way to give neocons a platform (kristol, mccain and war criminal kissinger to boot)and ample time to get their points across, colbert on the other hand cuts his guests off so that they can't get their point out.It just seems that when you feel no one is listening along comes these two...two true steam valves, on redstones outlet know less.Is this not what left gatekeeping is all about?Sometimes i feel the true joke is on us.

The Fresh Air interview was great.

I will have to agree there....but she has lost all of her credibility though.
She was/is always easy on the eyes...that is about it anymore.
His book is very funny. If you like the show, you'll like the book. I especially like the fact that he gave himself an award for "the literary excellence."
Glad I could share this video with some people on the blog. I cant wait to buy the book and learn how to do the Colbert Shuffle. Only then will I be irresistable to the ladies.
Is it wrong that I was able to (and did) buy the book on Saturday 10/6? I'm not talking about online either. I went to my local Best Buy not even expecting to find it, walked up and bought it. Plus I got it for about 20 buck instead of the normal price. The book is legit though, and very funny.
The Fresh Air interview is really good. It's nice seeing him as the "real colbert", he's so thoughtful. I was really impressed how he explained what hell is to his son.
